  1. Hi Whart... I think that you'll find a lot (well some anyway) V11 Sport and Lemans owners opting to switch to the tubular type bars found on the later model V11 Sports. So from the perspective of comfort the neighboring state dealer may be on the mark. BUT (IMHO) the Lemans models are much nicer looking than the newer model Sports with the forward mounted mini-fairings and tubular bars, and you may be able to modify the Lemans clip-ons (as others have done..see the forums) to best suit your body type and comfort level.

Whichever model you buy, "welcome aboard!"

BTW Antonio, I say the grey car is a Porsch, and I'm willing to bet one of Carl Allison's 5 Guzzis that I'm correct!

  2. My 01 V11 Sport had the clip ons mounted beneath the upper 3clamp, but the rise (about 1.5 inches as I recall) placed the bars at about the same height as on a V11 LeMans w/ shorter rise clip-ons mounted above the upper 3clamp.

But you might wanna look at these from MG Cycle as they offer adjustable rise. Go to www.mgcycle.com and look under V11 Products and click on handlebars.

BTW Ive added a set of very nice CycleCat clip-ons to my V11 Sport which I was able to do because I had one inch of fork tube above the 3clamp. If youre going to lower your front end just a little this might be an option for you.

  3. No complaints...just glad to be getting the 01 V11 Sport back! In the meantime I sold my 95 Ducati 900 SS/CR (how I loved that bike...I actually caught myself humming love songs to it while cleaning it one last time for the new owner :( , I think I need help). In its place I bought a low mileage 96 Honda VFR 750 and mounted hard Givi bags on it. Practical yes, nice yes, exciting...well it is practical. Boring, no.

But just before the V11 Sport went into the shop I did manage to install a set of CycleCat risers and will hopefully be able to post some photos after I get the bike back next week.

BTW, I've got a set of Leo Vince Titanium Oval cannisters which I'd like to swap for a set of Leo Vince CF cans, if anyone is interested.

Hope to be posting more of my usual drivel soon. :bier: Joe in Modesto.

PS... Can somebody (other than Redneck TEX) tell me if "crack" is legal in Texas.

PS. TX, in the name of God, what kind of images run thru your mind when your NOT thinking?

  5. Hey Al....That was probly my V11 Sport that you saw at Moto Italiano since it has been there since Oct 25 for the trannie recall, plus some other trannie problems. Dont know that I should blame MI for the delay as it seems to be built in to obtaining the MG parts from Italy and Chris in MI's service department seems to be on top of dealing w/ MGNA.

Anyway, my point (I actually have one) is this: Despite my trannie's numerous woes the Redline oil was probly the only thing right about it.

  6. O.K. First of all when you posted this it wasnt even Christmas yet in Greenville! So methinks that youve been peeking, which means that youve been naughty...not nice.

By order of Santa's Secret Police :thing: (Motorcycle Unit) you are hereby commanded to contact me as your gloves MUST be confiscated, and given to a more worthy (NICE not naughty) recipient! Your tankbag too!

    :xmas: Merry Christmas, Joe

  7. If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times :!: Leo Vinces... Build quality is top notch, alaignment is spot on, solid as a rock, made in ITALY, sound is exquisite deep RUMBLE and they are available in titanium, brushed aluminum and CF. Leo Vinces are the only way to go. But I could be wrong :huh2:

  8. Yeah, it is the San Mateo thing (San Mateo County Fairgrounds, just NORTH of 92 and El Camino Real) ...actually called the "S.F. International Bike Show" as I recall. I too got a post card and MG isnt listed as presenting this year. But the show has been worth going to for the past several years, although Ive noticed a decline in the accessory booths . "Taxi's" is the place to eat afterwards....

:P: milkshakes and hamburgers. Good stuff.

  9. Well, the timing of this thread is somewhat fortuitous  as I just had my 01 V11 Sport custom mapped today after having just installed a FBF open airbox upstream of a Stucchi crossover and a set of Leo Vince Ti-ovals.

I cant post the graph done by "Two Wheel Performance" (local Ducati dealer, great people to deal with) but the results are as follows:

Prior to the PCIII re-mapping Max HP = 77.4

    Max torque = 64.4

    After PCIII re-mapping Max HP = 80.0 (+2.6)

    Max torque = 66.8 (+2.4)

But for me the real treat was the induction howl induced by the FBF open airbox, coupled with the Leo Vince's low exhaust rumble...the numbers only confirm my seat o' pants measurements.

I also installed a set of CycleCat clip-ons and will attempt to get some photos posted soon.

    Life is good...:helmet: Joe
