well ,the english defeated the spanish main due to the stupidity of the spaniards,and their self importance. the spanish monarchy with their caste system did this to themselves and persisted until general franco took over and educated the then prince now king felipe. it was king felipe who put down a military coup d' etat about 10 or more years ago do you remember the generals ,etc..entering congress and shooting into the air,etc..... the king,who was replaced into the throne by franco,immeadiately reacted and took control,arresting the officers and restoring democracy. so far ,so good. and the people of spain love this royal family. will it detiriorate like the english has due to whatever.............only time will tell. but,there are also other monarchies in asia and elsewhere that do function. in the case of spain ,had there not been a king to take control,it would remained a dictatorship . similar situation with chile except that instead of a king they had a general who routed the castro comunists operating in the country ----(i knew some of the bastards ) and took affirmative control. he did kill many ,and some innocents,the abuses commited by those below him for personal and sadomasochist reasons. ie a general's wife could not bear children so he would rape a female prisioner and when the child was born , he would take the kid ,they would fly her out ,drugged ,in a helicopter and throw her out in the sea. rich, i went back and forth with you on this topic back then and your reply was the same. but,i have seen a new way to fabricate the seat that may be of help to you. i saw it on a harley. essentially what they did is run a 3/4 to maybe 1 inch wide cut from the front all the way to the back. but the way they did it ,i think , is by eliminating or shaving some foam in this area and then placing a plastic or steel strip a size smaller than say 1 inch , the full lenght of the seat and screwing it down ,thus forcing the indentation down sufficiently that keeps the crutch are in the air sort of. i will try to go back to this store in ft.lauderdale and take a shot of it and post it . but rich,does it make sense to you to do it this way. i am not happy with the way my seats --3 of them --look and i did like the hd approach.it looks very well done and elegant . also,ton the gel, , i found that when you seat on it for a long time and even thou there is material between you and the gel,it sort of get hot or makes you sweat.and not very comfortable. i did it this way the first time around and had to re-do it. keep in mind that i do not know what i am doing. in my seat i placed the gel all the way at the base of the seat ,to reduce vibrations ,and then the foam on top.and ensolite to finish it. i found the it works better. all the way on top ,where your ass goes i used ENSOLITE material.shock absorbing type. got it from a kayak store and it is used for kayak seats. let me know what you think of the hd approach and if you can do it .......

i am posting on this topic again because yesterday i went by a new harley davidson dealr in ft. lauderdale,florida and i decided to stop by and see this gigantic building / dealer. as big as the one in daytona. anyhow ,they had a new deuce screaming eagle and the seat,a beautiful seat ,had the indentation in the middle and it ran all the way from the front to the rear .the passanger seat also had it and it was a continuationof the rider 's seat. the great thing about it it is the quality of finish and the fact that the indentation has a metal looking strip that also runs the lenght of the seat ,and it is placed very low ,at the bottom of the indentation. will try to get a photo of it. i asked the sales people and was told that more riders are now asking for this . looks like word is going out.act now before it is too late.

ok i got it posted. the reason for the cut out . i did a 5 day or more trip 10 hours a day and when i got home i was impotent. went to the doctor and after 10 days of antibiotics i was back to normal. i spoke to various doctors and did research. conclusion------ both bicycle riders and to a lesser degree sport bike riders have a higher incidence of prostate cancer and impotence than the general population. the reason is that the seats ,the way they are made put undue pressure on the area just below the sexual organs where there are two veins that carry blood to the organs. the pressure causes these vains to compress and with repeated abuse --the seat---,not use, the veins tend to collapse and thus restrict the flow of blood intot he sexual organs of both men and women creating impotence in men and dryness in women. also ,the prostate gland is affected and may damage it and or increase the possibility of cancer. if ,a person feels sick after a ride and does not see a doctor there is a possibility thet the infection in the protate gland may spread and cause blood poisonning ...i personally came across 3 cases of this happening to motorcycle riders and one of them was on a harley.they spent about 2 weeks in the hospital. i personally met two of them in the course of my research in the miami area. also,i had coversations with corbin for a saddle to my specs. they finally offered one ,in better taste than mine ,and better proportions ,in their harley line up.but nothing to do with my drawings .they did this,i think ,on their own ,about 6 months after we spoke i saw the ad. they also offered to make one for my guzzi ,but,i had to travel to california . therefore i did my own work to see if i could do it. i had posted earlier on the construction and the materials used . go back about two years of posts. the new saddle is 2 inches taller to relieve my knees without having to relocate the pegs ,and also,as my head is higher there is zero wind buffeting from the fairing. bottom line---i now ride long days and have not had any problems. also fabricated a similar seat for my bmw r100rs 1982 and just came back from a 3 day trip to key west and the everglades .from miami where i am now .total trip about 600 miles . also, at first ,i could tell the difference in the seat. but once i got used to it ,it is great.actually,it is less fatiguing than the regular seat. for background ,the old us army had in their horse saddles a large openning that ran the entire lenght of the saddle form front to rear and was about 2 inches wide.also in theis area. most bicycle seats now have a similar but less pronounced depression,and there is a german seat maker that has built and is available ,a seat for bicycles that has only two ass areas and nthing in the middle .i have been using one in my bicycle for some time now. hope this helps someone out there

ok i had explained before but it did not come out. if this registers and posts i will return and explain the medical reasons for the cut out.similar to the problems bicycle riders have . highest incidence of prostate cancer and impotence. same applies in a smaller scale to sport bike riders .

hey john, i was planning to give you a call this week regarding this topic.i will probably call you anyhow. would like to maybe do this. i am planning to FLY TO CONNECTICUT VIA NEW YORK ON AMERICAN ON 9/11. my way of fighting back. i will probaby see you shortly thereafter and lets talk about the conversion. i think that i do not want to do an overkill but the pipes with the power comm. sounds too good ------to be true ??? also,alex tells me that i would have to do away with the bags if i go with the t . bags. i saw a lemans with the t-pipes at marsh and the owner had installed them himself making room for the bags. by the way ,hurricane charley just hit florida and we were lucky here in south fla. only a lot of rain for 1 hour and winds of maybe 30 kts. and that was it.i feel sorry for the people up in the boca grande area.

there is a dealer from texas that offers a high quality assembly to raise the handlebars on the lemans. the lines for brake ,clutch have to be replaced with new ones. my question is ---- has anyone installed these ???? i ask because i am thinking of making my ride more comfortable by raising the bars. but,the other day i raised my hands on the bar to simulate the higher bars and while on the interstate i found that the position was not really comfortable due to the wind............................ i know that there is someone in europe that makes a higher fairing for the lemans. but????? anyone has tried them ??????/ results ?????? fernando

so, i guess i do the pipes first and then the mapping and power comm. but,will i really be a ble to tell the diff at all rpm's or only top end ?

on my 2002 lemans teni i have been told that a new set of titanium pipes with the new computer that comes with it is superiorr to having a power commander with a remapping of the fuel system. what do you guys think. the pipes et.all is $1100. the power comm.with reprog. is about 700. how about doing both ???????? and what do i gain with each option versus stock and vis a vis each other ??? anyone tried this yet.????????? and,has anyone tried the new bar raisers fron the outfit in texas ????? is it any good ? thank youi fernando

al, my location is coral gables fla. (a city inside miami ). but the bike ,lemans teni,is at my place in connecticut. i had riddden it to miami via the mountains . but after 3 months here i decided to take it back to ct.it is impossible to ride this bike here in florida due to that it is all flat. no good curves,no hills,nothing.......it was exasperating to ride. so,i have my 82 r100rs here now. as far as the casing,it is a very smooth black finish. i will post photos when i get back to conn in june. and will have the dealer check on the valve lash also. i am leaving on a 2000 mile trip then.

thank you. i will tell the dealer about the valve lash as soon as i get back to connecticut. posting photo.---yes ,but i have no idea how to post a photo. can you tell guide me. do i need to get a program to do so.? casing --smooth finish. jacket in lieu--------------------- i wish i could have . the bike was running very smooth ,but,i was burnning oil and had been doing so since new ,so i figured why not do the casing since they had to take it apart. the burning oil turned out to be an improperly installed ring.....something about the upper ring aligned with the lower ring and thus the oil was seeping through the openning.......... ff

i have been out of here for a while ....the site locked me out because of a new computer. last december 03, i had the engine casing replaced and now-------- the bike cannot seem to hold idle .........and when i come to a stop at a light ,it dies. took it back and dealer worked on it and ran good for 5 miles and then back to dying. being an italian bike it is like a fellini movie. and,biggest problem is that they did not change the trnny casing and thus i now have 2 shades of black and finishes....... any ideas what i can do here.

i am 59 yrs. old. started riding in havana cuba when i was 12 . my first bike was a 1948 harley davidson,single cylinder,made either by hd under license,or by dkw in germany. hd acquired them as part of the war reparation act. this was a 2 cycle engine good for a top speed of 70 mph. i used it as a motorcross machine since i could not ride on the streets ( i did ,often but was almost always scorted back to my house by the police ) and thus i came home everyday with a piece of the bike in my hands. it just kind of fell apart over the rough roads. left cuba when i was 16 to ny and did not ride again until i moved to connecticut in 1979------ then,-a 1980 c400 honda that i kept for 3 months and then moved on to a 1980 cb 900 honda .gave it away one year ago. in 1982 got a 1982 bmw r100rs which i still own and ride..........just back from a ride on it ...... and,in 2002 bought my first moto guzzi a le mans teni...

teni 2002-------------- new computer after 2000 miles covered in 10 days. oil leaks eng.paint bubbles vapor lock or other ?

i have experienced vapor lock or something else in my 02 tenni .specially about 5 miles after filing up and overfilling. i was told that overfilling will cause my bike to die when coming to a stop and then it will re-start but run for 5 seconds at no more than 2000 rpm and die and on and on. i was told that overfilling causes this problem.

i have # 117 in coral gables fla. and norwalk,conn. usa. and,on my way south from conn. to fla. i found a brand new one at a dealer's store in tarpoon springs fla.--west coast of fla.

i have been reading and looking at this section and i am having problems with the bars i see for my tenni. my bar set up is different. i have clip-ons right on top. the footpegs from the article look good.now if i could get alf to build me a set i just may keep my tenni. i have 5 more days to go before i take the bike to the dealer and give it to him on consignment. by the way,i have been told by al of marsh motoguzzi in hartford ct. that the factory has been working on a set of clip ons for the lemans.he expects them announced any time now.but he did say that they are 4 months overdue from the original promise made to him. ff
