    Howdy!

Welcome Bugs, let's see a pic when you can of the le mans
  3. I need a replacement cap and I can get a brembo one from a ducati which is a 15cl size and should do the job.
  4. Does anybody know the capacity of the handlebar mounted clutch reservoir? I think it's 15cl but would like to know for sure, thanks.
  5. Just ordered one from Moto Strada in Yorkshire, should be here in a few days. Played it safe in the end and ordered one from a guzzi dealer.
  6. Thanks everybody,I think I will be going down the ebay road. Going straight on after this. It's great to have the help from this board when these hiccups occur.
  7. Forgot to ask if anyone knows the outside diameter of the original cap I would be grateful.
  8. My 2001 V11 was parked up yesterday for a couple of hours and some gob*hite helped themselves to the cap from the top of the clutch fluid reservoir. Are these caps a pretty universal size across bikes fitted with hydraulic clutches or do sizes vary? I know I can send off for the Guzzi part but I need to keep my bike on the road in the meantime. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
  9. That's a nice looking bike and even nicer weather, any chance of sending some over the pond!
  10. Thanks Dennis and best wishes for the new year ahead. The horns are known as Hootaz and are made by an aftermarket firm called Motrax, not sure if they are available in your neck of the woods but they do give out a healthy dose of decibels! I think they are a copy of the Fiamm horns made in a similar style. John.
  11. Yes,I think the actual name is, Maximum candy orange. Love the 7 series Beemers had a 100/S and shouldn't have parted with it.
  12. Thanks mate, looked around for a long time before settling on the colour. It's a Suzuki colour used on the Hayabusa.I saw one at a classic bike show parked up in the visitors car park and made my mind up on the spot.
  13. Hi Van,no they are not Fiams. They are an aftermarket pair of Hootaz made by Motrax. They are a straight swap for the original horns and according to the instructions that came with them they need no modifications to the existing power supply. Thanks,John.
  14. New paint job, wanted something different so just went for it.
  15. Hi,sorry for the delay and Happy New year to all forum members and their families.Hopefully there will be a picture with this post of the finished alternator cover, thanks,John.
  16. Hi Gary,in the end I carefully cut a new slot across the head of the bolt and was then able to use a much bigger screwdriver with more leverage. After a bit of a struggle it came out.I've now used stainless steel bolts with a hex head on and applied some copper grease.
  17. Will do as soon as I get a chance. On another note my wifes name is D. Hansen ! Pretty spooky eh?
  18. Just picked up the alternator cover after having it stove enameled, the finish looks great so I think I'll get the rocker covers done with the same finish in the future.
  19. Thanks all. You have certainly gave me food for thought as the saying goes.Just been out to the workshop to take off the alternator cover and all the bolts came out easily except one! It's seized solid so whilst I struggle with the little bugger I will think about what finish to give the cover if it ever comes off!
  20. I've thought of polishing but when I've done this in the past the metal soon dulls. If a lacquer is applied then it yellows after a while. With stove enameling the finish stays spot on and is easy to keep on top of. Thanks for all the input but at the moment stove enameling gets the vote and is something I can get done locally. Thanks again.
  21. Hi,finish on rocker covers is starting to bubble and lift, the alternator cover is in a much worse condition.I want to get all three items cleaned back to bare metal and then a new finish applied. I once had the rocker covers off an old BMW blasted and then stove enameled and was really pleased with the result. Are the three items off my V11 made of suitable materials to have this process carried out? If not then what would be the best cleaning and finishing techniques to get done? Thanks in advance.
  22. Just ordered one from Jack Lilley's for £20:79 including postage, well worth it to keep the muck off. Many thanks to JamesGuzzi.
  23. That's brilliant James, looks perfect. Thanks a lot for taking the trouble to post a picture and part number. Cheers,John.
