Indeed. I dealt with Magni directly ... expensive, yes ... but everything went well and I remain very pleased / satisfied with my fairing.
Docc - it is even more beautifull than in your imagination ...

chamberlin raises an interesting point there docc ... is "bling" a disease or a simple case of self-justification ..? As Guzzisti - where do we fit on the scale of over-built Ural-practical to 100% Harley-chrome (no offence to either marque intended) ..? Not sure if we have had that debate yet but it would be an interesting one.
Speaking for myself - the Guzzi represents a unique blend of practical/easy to work-on (most of the time!) and exotic/unusual - and the latter does invite the bling demon to have his say. I love my Magni fairing - and look forward to the nice red anodised caps arriving in the mail ... the latter being justified as part of my quit-smoking program - but would probably have bought them anyway ...

Thanks Soren - others have suggested this and and sure it would work - but I just hit a non-smoking milestone and wanted to treat myself / bike to a little bling as a reminder of how much $ I'm saving by not smoking (what I saved in a week paid for these) - and feeling a lot healthier also!

PS - regular replacement caps are also available at relatively little cost - think I saw those on the MG cycle page for around $10 or less ..?

Apologies for duplicate post - (didn't find the 27/7 thread until afterwards) ... went with a set of Pro-Tek (fleabay) as both price and reviews were good.
(Pro-Tek part #'s RC-400 (front brake) and RC-450 (rear brake / clutch)

Thanks - shipping from AF1 was more than the cost of the one cap (!) - but found a set of Pro-Tek (all 3 caps, incl shipping) for less on fleabay yesterday

I didn't see this thread whilst searching earlier - there was an older thread with links to Pro-Tek caps from AF1 ..?
So you purchased and are satisfied with these (Accossato) caps? Must admit I like the plain finish.

I still have the original brake and clutch reservoir caps - and the brake cap is looking very ratty having lost most of it's paint and now nicely oxidised with white crust ... so thought I might treat myself to a new set and did a quick search ...
Found reference to the Pro-Tek from AF1 (Aprilia/Brembo) with part #'s PTRC-400 (Brake) and PTRC-450 (Clutch) for ~$50
Rossopuro are 46 Euro (~$70) for a set - but shipping from Italy could be $$$
Rizoma are too $$$ at ~$120 / set
A set on e-bay (same Brembo part #'s as above) seems to run around US $40-50
Does anyone have any other alternates, or experience either way with the Pro-Tek brand ..? I would prefer anodised red.

Just looked at my notes and can confirm part # for the PC III was indeed 706-211 in Sep 2001. Included all maps available (part # M706-ALL)

Docc - when you say oiled foam - do you mean oiled cotton / gauze ..? I installed a K&N (part # 33-2682) at aroun 16,000 km in 2002 and clean it with detergent / re-oil with the red K&N oil every 30,000 km. It looks exactly like that CG9002 one. I'm at around 95,000 km now and have had no problems with it as far as I know.

Interesting data Docc. Like you I was a big fan of the Pirelli Strada (~ 9,000 km from a rear and ~13,000 km from a front) and plan to try the GT's once these howling Metzeler Z6's are toast ...

Docc - there may be no rational answer to your question re double luhbo tubes - perhaps you had a prototype endurance frame with double the standard spaghetti capacity ... consider this a bonus feature!

Ah yes - I had forgotten about that part (it was over 10 years ago that I installed my fairing - memory not what it used to be!) - just got a new cable (per earlier post) which comes as stock with straight ends - others have reported problems with the angle drives with time, but mine seem to have held up well - a bit of lube now and then probably helps ...

Speedo converter ..? I don't recall anything relating to the speedo with the kit I installed ..?

Yes - lower clip-ons are required ... should be supplied with the kit.

If so I wouldn't worry - the tube is not required (but could have been intended originally) for secure mounting as the "U"-bolt takes care of that ) ...

luhbo - apparently the tube was designed to carry an emergency supply of spaghetti (will hold approx 12 strands) ...

brheen (apologises for typo last post) - camera is awol but here is a description of how mine is fitted that may help :
The "luhbo" tube is present in my case - approx 1.5 inches long and 0.5 inches wide and welded across the front of the steering head as he said. The lower fairing bracket (which joins the ends of the two stays with the headlight support) ends with a hollow square section (approx 5/8") and this sits (at least in my case) on top of the tube, and tight against the steering head. A U-bolt then goes around the back of the steering head and bolts from the front, above this square section. For reference, the front frame mounts (at the back of the steering head) are just below the level of the luhbo tube.

Thanks for positive comments - and yes, it does work as a fairing in that wind is below helmet level so no buffeting. Much more effective than the stock flyscreen (which I also have) in my opinion. And if you feel like tucking in with your chin on the tank pad - then the wind goes over the top.
bhreen - the lower mount is via a "U" bolt around the steering head - I'll try to take a pic (not easy) and post more details for you shortly ...

Direct from Magni. There was some customs paperwork and import duty to pay but no problems.

Indeed. I purchased the Magni shortly after the bike and was, and remain, very pleased with it. Installation was relatively straightforward - just some minor adjustment required for adequate clearance around the gas tank. The clip-ons (supplied) are lower than stock, but work well for me. Colour match was perfect (apparently they use the same paint) and build quality good. Not the cheapest of fairings, but to my eye at least, looks great (and works!).
Following an un-scheduled surge of gravity a few years ago - I had occaision to replace the clear screen and went with a red tint from Gustaffson (sp?)
And, of course, looks awesome in original green ...
