Me too, I like grainy paper...there's something special about a black n white image with it...a bit like the crackle of a vinyl record...I mean CDs are great but somehow it's not the same and I find myself reaching for my old vinyl every now and again...

I see Slavomir, like the image you posted shows, you can achieve quite dramatic results with a Polaroid. Where I used to work we used to get through thousands each week. The photograhers used to use the Polaoid to test the still they were shooting prior to naking the actual catalogue shot. Once they went fully digital they stopped using polaroids. In reply to your earlier question, the reason the images have to be that size is due to the size of the calendar. Any smaller than 1200 x 1600 would be too small for the calendar page unfortunately.

Squadra Guzzista member Lloyd is from the south island of New Zealand. ...so yesterday the kids are at school, the wife's at work, the sun was shining, the bike was calling me and it was approaching lunchtime...so 60 miles later I'm at Winchelsea Beach on the Sussex coast (southern England), near the ancient port of Rye munching on some delicious fish and chips. The roads were deserted it was an absolutely gloriious ride...what a great way to while away an afternoon! ;D (The road to Appledore from Tenterden in Kent) (On the Royal Military Canal Road- one of my favourite roads- which runs from Appledore to Rye) (Down at Winchelsea Beach in the sunshine- I'm off camera stuffing my face with fish n chips!)

Greg, you have much knowledge, if you had the time my srticle would be greatly enhanced by any contribution you may be able to make. It would certainly help with regards accuracy as my research capability stretches only as far as my books and the net allow. Our site is a wiki, which means it is there for people to add to the content themselves (as opposed to static sites where it is down to the owner of the site) and we'd be honoured if you could could make whatever additions you felt were required to the Cali history article... ...fair point Paul, but slow parts is one of the criticisms that tends to be levelled at Guzzi...you read about it in the press, on forums, all over the place. I don't know what the depth of the problem is but I am interested in the perception as this is what "colours" the opinion of the marketplace. You still read in the press about agricultural gearboxes, unreliable electrics and poor chrome...why is that? Whereas us who have owned Guzzis for a long time know they are no better or worse than other manufacturers' bikes. The comments you guys are making are exactly the sort of feedback I'm looking for, and would appreciate it if I could trouble you chaps to add them on the site, so it makes things easier to compile later... Hi everyone, over the last year I've come accross a huge disparity in people's opinion of local importers. It doesn't seem to matter where this is the variety of comments appear to range from absolute praise to downright condemnation. I have started a survey with which I hope to gain an understanding of the depth and strength of people's feelings on this subject and intend to then send the findings to the factory. I'd like to find out whether the problem lies with the status of the importers or whether any issues lie closer to Mandello. As this is such an important year for the factory I thought it would be an appropriate to harness the always seemingly passionate opinion of Guzzisti on this subject. The polls are very simple yes/no affairs, but there is an area at the foot of the page where you can fully express your opinion on the subject. Whatever the reasons for the e-mail, this sort of seagull management (swoop in, shit on everything and swoop off again) is wrong. If there have been wrong-doers then deal with them, don't tar everyone with the same brush. I post here from time to time and refer to the knowledge contained therein often. I don't think I've ever been abusive to anyone. I post on other forums in a similar way and, when a similar situation has occurred on the forum I run, I dealt with the individuals. I like to think I treat people with respect and I expect the same in return. It left a sour taste in the mouth to be treated like a child in a classroom of naughty children. I know not everyone will agree with these words but it's how I personally feel about the situation. It's wrong to threaten people with the removal of the site. Jaap may own it but this forum is alive because of the investment in time, knowledge, expertise, and humour that it's members have made in it, and with great credit to, but not because of, it's owner. I know only too well how hard it is to set up a forum and what a priviledge it is to have access to such a vast (in comparison) resource of Guzzi enthusiasm. Deal with the offenders and move on, the rest of us haven't caused you grief Jaap.
