  1. Unless I am mistaken, I believe TechnoFlex is now Wilbers suspension. I believe the company changed hands in the late 90s.
  2. Stunning...a very good word for this motorcycle. Love it.
  3. My buddy told me recently that there is a new dealer actually in Hendersonville on Hwy 25. I think they also are a big golf cart, scooter, trailer enterprise as well. Don't know if this is a good sign or not, but sounds like they are well established and have been there for years.
  4. In many states lemon laws do not apply to recreational vehicles. I think in most states motorcycles are classed as recreational vehicles, so you might want to make sure that the lemonn law will protect you in this case. I have had two new bikes strand me on the side of the road before. The first was an 03 Ducati ST4s that ended up having so many problems that I got ride if it after putting 20,000 miles on it. The most recent is an 07 BMW R1200R. It also stranded me with 300 miles on the clock, but after the repair has given me 7,500 miles of mostly trouble free service. Any new vehicle, especially motorcycles...don't ask me why, can have initial problems that need to be worked out. Ideally, a dealer should give a loaner while something like your situation is resolved. I hope yours can be sorted out and you will end up with a good bike. I will never buy another new Ducati, and probably never again a new BMW. I now look for low mileage, clean, one-owners. There are plenty of them out there, and often any initial issues have been resolved by the original owner. Your bike might end up being the type I look for.
  5. I recently bought my first Guzzi, a pristine 97 sport 1100i. I am having a blast with it and love the looks of it. I don't think I would give up either of my BMWs for it though. That raises the big question of if only one bike, which one. I don't want to go there.
  6. I have been busily learning my first Guzzi, a 97 Sport 1100i. I am looking for the access ports to check the vaccum and for the life of me, I don't see them? Any of you wise and learned ones know where they are?
  7. Thank you Mr. Alex-Corsa. In doing more research on the exhaust I found this to be the case. I appreciate your reply.
  8. I have been reading some of the info on aftermarket slip ons and it has been very helpful. My question is this. Will most of these options; Mistral, M4, FBF, etc. also fit on the Sport 1100i? Thanks.
  9. Not sure exactly yet what I want, but I am looking for some lighter and better sounding slip on exhaust for my 97 Sport 1100i. Probably will go with carbon. If anyone has any sitting around in the way, please let me know. Thanks.
  10. It is a small world indeed...but I'd hate to have to paint it. I have wanted a Guzzi for several years now and have always been in love with Eurpean motorcycles. My first question for those who might know is how to adjust the idle speed. The bike is idling at around 900 RPM which is a little slow. I have been reading the shop manual, but it is a bit unclear on this. I was able to put about 150 miles on it over the weekend and the suspension seems pretty good. I did scrape the side stand a couple of times however. The bike is the original metallic black color which looks ok in some light, in other light looks a rather alarming greenish color. I am thinking of having it repainted the original yellow. Any thoughts on this crazy idea?
  11. Thank you for your kind remarks. I am excited about it. I have two BMWs and a 92 Ducati 900ss, but this is my first Guzzi. The man I bought it from is 65 and he bought it new when he was 55. It looks like it just came off the showroom floor and has 15,000 miles on it. I am 55 now, so I hope I can enjoy it for 10 years like he did.
  12. Greetings motorcycle lovers. I just bought my first Moto Guzzi, a pristine, one owner 1997 Sport 1100i. I have been reading this forum about the V-1100 models, but would like to find out more about the Sport 1100i. Anybody have any suggestions or links for me. This is a great board BTW and a good resource. You folks that keep it running do a fantastic job. Thanks for any help.
