  1. You bettcha!!

l've always wanted to take a good bike around a track,

l have absolutly no illusions 'bout being Ago but would really enjoy the feel of letting the bike have its head :race: and not having to worry about the other idiots on the road, deer, or officer Bob Speed and his trusty radar gun.

    :bier:

    Cheers

    Van

I need two days to get all the way down the coast, so I figure on leaving the Oregon coast on Monday for Wed arrival. How does that fit in your plans, Van?

  2. lt looks as if l will be able to go so that would make

    119 Al

    125 me

137 a new owner in SoCal

and you bet there will be pictures!

Very Cool, Van. Are you going to ride at the track day?

  3. So after two years my '02 LeMans is at 21k miles and well sorted out; Roper Plate, TL centerstand, brand-spankin-new MG Ti pipes, Wilbers fork springs, head and tail light flashers, an MRA touring screen and plastics are in great shape. Along comes Sparky's '04 Negro Corsa; 8k miles and mostly bone stock; Ohlins, front crossover pipe, PCIII and a Rich Maund seat.

I'm considering the change if the plastics are in good shape - I always like the Corsa. Would move much of my aftermarket stuff to the Corsa and sell the LeMans in spring. Staying away from price, I'm interested in opinions of the pro's/con's of the change and what bits would you swap? Shoul I keep the front crossover or dump it? Would Ti pipes and ECU from an '02 fit an '04? - or did the front crossover make such a difference that this wouldn't work - or require an extensive remap with the PCIII?

Perhaps this will be more interesting than my groaning about U-joints.

Well if your '02 were a Tenni, the choice would be obvious :D . Would you mind commenting on the TL centerstand installation and use, as well as ground clearance? Was it something you would do again? Thanks.

  4. Van, if you make it, it'll be three that I know of at this minute. Our local dealer (owner) just bought #137, and said he will be there. It will be his first ever track day.

There's a few more Tenni's in the Southwest that I am aware of, who I'm sure would attend if they hear others will be too. If nothing else, I'm going to encourage many to attend, if only to spectate and tire kick. Should be a GREAT day, with arguably/likely the most Guzzis on a track at one time, ever.

We'll have to get all the Tennis to pit together. What an historic sight and sound this event will be. :D I hope someone who knows videography will be there to document it.

  5. Well here is a deal on some Givi softbags. No relationship to seller.

I've gone the soft bags route (chase harper) for 20+ years now, and think I will migrate to HB hard bags as soon as I find a good deal on a used set. It always bothers me on a trip when I have to worry about the luggage items being stolen out of an easily unzipped bag. Having said that, the soft bags are light and easy to move on/off the bike and have been quite durable as well.

  6. C'mon folks- go to the Nationals. After the Minnesota disaster, we (Guzzisti) need all the support we can muster.

Heck, I might even go if my family gets over all the colds and flues and nonsense we've been suffering this winter.

I'm going. I sure hope there is a larger number attending than what the poll shows. I suspect there will be more people coming in at the last minute.

  7. Occasionally the heels of my boots rest on the leading edge of the exhaust cans. The carbon fiber is going to be scuffed soon and I'd like to find something that I can protect them with. I have searched but only found them for Ducati etc. Anything around for our bikes?

  8. I believe there is a difference between pressure and flow. A thicker oil will build pressure quicker when cold but a thinner oil will flow to the bearings faster.

In my opinion, the pressure build is not because the oil is getting to the bearings quicker, but rather because it is resisting going to the bearings.

Is it possible to get the gauge in white to match the veglia of earlier v11 bikes?

  9. Eventually got round to putting in the redline shockproof heavy and went for a run. Early indications are that the leak has disappeared. I only filled up to half way up the gearbox window

will post again after I've ridden a good few more miles

As an aside, did you notice any differences in shift quality after putting in the Redline?

  10. I guess that would depend on which national... they may be saying the same thing about us.

Not to diminish the impact of three fine Italian bikes thundering down a twisty back road, but how many bikes does it take to make a squadron?

I had no plans for the National at this point; I'm not much of a "rally guy" but the prospect of riding there en mass (whatever that mass may be) is somewhat intriguing... a group of three is about all the mass I can handle.

Well if we had four it would encompass 2.35 percent of the entire series production. Obviously three bikes is somewhat less but still significant, considering the odds of any more than even one of these incredible bikes traveling down the road together. Therefore I suggest that any more than two makes for a Tenni squadron. It could be fun indeed.

    Al

  11. You'd be hardpressed to outdo the Japanese Tenni Squadron

There's a picture of them somewhere with about 10 or 12 Tennis all lined up. :o

An impressive group indeed, but unlikely that they will make it to the National. B)

  12. A West Coast Regional Tenni Squadron.........a squadron of :sun: Tenni's  .....sounds good to me

all l can do at this point in time is day dream about summer and riding again so any planing etc to help keep the winter blues away is great!

    :bier:

    Cheers

    Van

What we ought to do is get the squadron together and ride down the the National next June. That would put on a nice show for the non-believers.

  13. Hi Al !

l bought my :sun: tenni  with the stock black seat, then aquired the suede one, (which looks cool but in our wet climate is a non-start) l then sent off the black seat Rich Maund and he re-did it in two tone, black on charcoal with the tri-color stripes on both sides....l'm very happy with the result!

    :bier:

    Cheers

    Van

say, as we are in the "same" neck of the woods we should get together at some point for a ride or what-have-you

I may have to see what Rich can do for me..I wouldn't mind altering the black seat a little bit. And that's a really nice look on yours.

Between yourself, Garsdad and I in Oregon and whomever else is in California we could have a West Coast Regional Tenni Squadron Rally! :mg:

  14. Well I called the guy at motorworldonline.com and asked him about the LSL bars. He is a member of this list by the way and owns a ballabio. Anyway the bars look really nice, but I mistakenly thought that these were risers and you keep the clip ons. Apparently it's a conversion to a standard handlebar set up as some of you have already pointed this out in your replies. Increased comfort, no doubt, but I will continue to look for a system that allows me to keep the clip on style bars. Maybe I'll re read the thread from Zebulon about his bars, they seem pretty sturdy-although I have no desire to play with triple clamps, raising the forks etc.

    Al

  15. I have ridden my new Tenni enough now so that I realize the reach to the bars is a bit much. Not a lot, but an inch or two up and/or back would be nice. I searched on the forum and like the looks of the MPH risers and was looking to get those. However I came across these from LSL and wonder if anyone has experience with them. They run about 1/2 the price of the MPH bars.

    Thanks

    Al
