  1. Hi Carl Thanks for the info . I'll try to do something on this bike if I can find the necessary parts to raise or lower the respective concerns but as mentioned it only runs on 160 rear tires and yet feels lazy as compared to V11 . Maybe to convert to a riased handle bar might solve all this . What do you think? Know of anyone who has done it here on the forum? My Daytona, as mentioned, has been converted to standard full handlebars. It also has forks from a GSXR that are shorter by a good bit (I forget the number) but also have a different offset to complement the increased rake. Also, the front wheel is much lighter (also from a GSXR) and the fairing is removed. It is still a little long but it handles pretty close to the wifes V11. Since it is longer it will never be the same, but it is currently pretty close. None of my bikes has a steering damper, I find that most Guzzi's don't need a damper and all it does is slow down the steering. Some people do not agree and some think V11's need a damper or they would not have come with one. I have a V11, a Daytona, and a Griso. The V11 and Daytona came with steering dampers. They both went bad and caused issues so they were removed. They both handles better in my opinion without them. The Griso did not come with one from the Factory. It works fine with out it. To each their own..... Hello Guzzi moto Interesting information. Just a question since you have a v11 and a daytona. How does the two engines comapre, 2 valves and four. I have a centauro as well with a daytona engine( will creedon ship and full staintune) )and find that the V11 seems to be stronger on top end(it has a race ecu and pipes)although there is not much in it. They are both as strong on the low end. I read about the oil pump issues on this bike and has yours been changed?

  3. What tyres are you on? Some tyres steer much quicker than others. KB Hi Baldini I'm currerntly running Bridestone BT 16 (i'll let you know the profile in the morning)dual compound tires on me bike. It also has a full system termi exhuast and a creedon chip. Has anyone on the forum converted their sporti from clip ons to raised handlebars without the fairing. would love to see how it looked like.
  4. Thanks Raz for your advice. My steering is new and the cone bearings are sound. I'll try lowering the front fork or raising the rear to see what happens, but the tire profile is something new to me.
  5. My tire pressure is as recommended, so how do i replicate the handling from my V11 on the sports. \\\ If i fit a triple clamp from a V11 , that will increase/reduce the trial / rake . When you guys said the sports 1100i is longer I assume you mean the wheelbase is longer, and since the swingarm looks and measures similar to me it can only mean the fork is the one affecting it. I look at these 2 bikes back to back and even pushing it up from the side stand gives me the impression the sports is heavier by a fair margin. They are really very similar down to the wheels , the frame, swingarm, shock mounting position, everything except the sub frame. I really like the feel/nimbleness of the V11 , and also the engine of the sports 1100 thats why I'm asking before I attempt to convert. By the way I have a centauro as well and although it feels heavy it is easier handling than the sports because of its high and wide bars. and just in case you guys think that i am not used to the 'clip on' feel my other bikes are sports bikes like mv agusta f4 312rr and S 1000rr. cheers i love guzzis , they are in a world of their own.
  6. Hi Guzzirider I know I can raise the rear and have done that for some of my bikes but why does it feel so heavy compared to the v11. I thought they are the almost the same weight? Hi Guzzirider Do you know where to find the linkage to raise the rear as the standard white power is non adjustable?
  7. Hi Guzzirider I know I can raise the rear and have done that for some of my bikes but why does it feel so heavy compared to the v11. I thought they are the almost the same weight? The Sport 1100i has 1˚ more rake than the V11 Sport chassis. It also has a brace from the spine to the transmission so it's just a tad more stiff overall. I don't recall that when I had a V11 Sport in addition to my Sport 1100i that they handled all that much different but the V11 Sport engine was noticeably stronger feeling. Hi Carlson Thanks for the feedback. What i am experiencing when I ride them back to back is a much more nimble copa italia V11 one reason I believe is due to the handle bars, and also during acceleration the sports 1100i feels like solid iron rushing towards and horizon and requiring more effort to turn and brake although strangely again they share the same braking components. Just to complicate matters the sports 1100i runs a 160 rear tire which should help it turn in and nimbleness althought this is not so. The sports 1100i feels more stable at speed although I'm not saying the V11 isn't . Can 1mm of rake make so much difference. I am unable to weigh the bikes but I have a suspicion the sports 1100i weighs a considerable amount more. I prefer the lighten feel of the V11 and hope to replicate it as close as possible on the sports. Any more info is appreciated. I'll source a V11 triple clamp , put it on and see what happens.

  9. Hi fellow guzzitas It's been a while since I posted but as I ride the sports 1100i and copa italia more frequently i sometimes ask myself why the both bikes feel so different. I know they are supposed to have the same chassis, basically same engine, and more but I can't figure why the sports 1100i feels so heavy and harder to turn and generally harder to ride than the copa italia. The engine feels more peaky which makes me suspect there is a higher lift cam , but overall the riding impression is one of a much heavier bike (sports 1100i) a lazier engine and definitely more long legged gear box. My main query is why it feels so heavy and harder to steer as compared to the V11 copa. Is it really that much differnce in weight although the specs says not. By the way both bikes are bought new and has only 5000km and 8000km respectively. cheers
  10. My centauro had all these symptoms and cannot be tuned no matter how I tried. Finally did a compression test and found out that one of the cylinder inlet valve was leaking . After lapping it the bike now runs fine with the regular tuning.
  11. Today I saw a california vintage year 2006 using the same tps as my v11 copa italia and also my sports 1100i. My california also uses the same PF3C which I took out and put onto my sports 1100i because it is faulty. How do I know it is faulty? My mechanic has the diagnostic eqpt. and the reading from the TPS fluctuates and cannot be held constant even when tighten. I swapped it with the working one and this problem disappears. Thanks for the part no. RAZ. Will be calling Harley tomorrow.
  12. Hi fellow guzzi enthusiasts I remember reading about a harley TPS which can be used for the california 1100i. Can someone please provide me the part number, year and model of bike for this particular PFC4 tps from harley because my harley dealer knows nothing about a PFC 4. The original PFC 3 from guzzi is ridiculous priced at 230 euro. thanks
  13. Hey Gstallons What do you called this dye?Would like to try it ? Strokers
  14. Hi Greg Thanks for your help and part numbers to buy. Will do as you advise and buy all the necessary parts. Are you the same Greg Field who writes some guzzi books especially the one with some words from Dr. John Wittner? Strokers
  15. Thanks Phil Can someone help me and tell me the part number for this input shaft seal. I looked at the part list and is a little confused because there is a seal also on the gear selector mechanism. Is this the seal you guys are talking about. If it is it looks extremely small. Please help and thanks in advance..... strokers
  16. Thanks Greg I will look into all possibilities when I remove the gear box but as I said it leaked 3 times because they did not use an original seal. The clutch is also slipping and I felt the clutch springs are weak as compared to my sports 1100i. I want to change them but some guzzi delalers said these are rarely change. What are your thoughts on this. stroker
  17. Hi guys Actually from what i know the former owners said it was the crankshaft oil seal leaking. Since the 3rd time it was removed they said it was still the crank seal. I have not dismantle the gear box yet but once done I will keep you guys updated. As I said I just bought the bike and intend to sort it's problems. Need to give Guzzi a good name for this brand is dying in my country. even Piaggio has decided not to bring in the bikes, giving up the agency recently. Ducati sells many bike here in my country. How does 12 or thereabouts desmosedici sounds to you in a country of 4 million. As to my questions on the cluth assembly, is it a car clutch assembly?
  18. Mileage is only 12500kms Crankcase vent is clear Crankseal according to prevoius owner is an Original guzzi Biton seal(not sure about spelling) and for your info the mechanic has removed this gear box 3 times already to change it. Twice with non original seals and the last time with original parts but then it is still leaking.
  19. Happy new year to all forum members Hi I have just bought a V10 and since it is similar to the V11 or others I thought I would pose the questions here to get some help from the guzzi experts here. 1. This bike has a crankshaft oil seal leak into the clutch hosing and it is driving the previous owner, the mechanic and now me up the wall. They have changed a new oil seal and after the bike was sold to me it leak again immediately after a 30km ride. What is it that the mechanic did not do right and what do I have to watch out for when I replace the contaminated clutch again. 2. Is the V10 usuing a car clutch system and where can this clutch assembly can be bought. 3. Can a california or sports 1100i or any new clutch system from a newer guzzi fit(gris, norge)clutch fit ? regards strokers
  20. Hi How is it that you can lose it at lowspeed and not at higher speed. if there is a serious problem this should be amplified as speed increases amI correct to say? I owned a sports 1100i as well and the WP suspension works fine or maybe as good as my ohlins on the copa italia abielt with less adjustments. I think it takes a lot of effort to lock the front wheels and the fact that you said it was not an emergency ,it is strange that you can lock up a wheel just like that. Do you mean to say that you can simulate this behaviour as and when you want to?
  21. Hi fellow guzzista Is the V10 gear box housing with gears complete interechangeable with the sports 1100i or V11? Are there any V10 members on this site? I amkeen to own one but have no idea how they are as compared to the 2 valver. Someone actually told me they are full of trouble. Any truth in this ? V10 owners ?If you can help or are on this forum.
  22. Raz As far as I know they are same because I have them side by side. I believe the V11 heads have better nikasil coatings because my V11 copa italia is ridden hard and to date no problems at all. The only visible difference I can see is that the V11 heads are e series while my sports 1100 are A type. I am currently running V11 liners and pistons on my sports 1100i. No difference in power it seems.
  23. Ok Guys Here is the final chapter to my problem. (I hope) . Have substituted a california tps and the bike now runs . Everything seems normal now.. Comfirmed TPS screwed.... Thanks for all the feedback and help.
  24. Hi Guys The data tool initially show a fault on injector 1 and 2 . the dealer e rased these faults and then checked the tps which shows a reading of 38 or 39 degrees. Thereafter we readjusted the tps back to 3.2 degrees but found the reading inconsistent(varying between 2.6 and 3.2). Furhtermore the tps appears to be extremely sensitive. Anyway ater this adjustment the bike started but idle is not satisfactory. Please note that before this tps problem we had already tune the bike based on the procedure recommended in our forum and best of all it actually idle very well and ran strongly . Only after 30 kms the bike went into misfiring mode and hence we discovered this problem. temp sensor has been checked and even changed , fuel pump has been changed to the old one as well and I can comfirm that it is not the problem although it is running higher psi(45 I believed). For those members who recommended a harley TPS , can you tell me which harley is it for and year since the dealer here will only sell it to a harley owner which I am not at present.
