  2. Hey Paul, I am in SoCal and I have a really nice 04 Lemans that I would consider selling for something south of $5k. If interested, zap me your email and I can send you some pix and details. Regards, Clay Hey thanks... zigzagmedia@hotmail.com
  3. Yeah I've heard good things about them, but they're adamant about $4999 when I offered $4500 OTD. I may wait it out...
  4. hi paul, like u i was looking for an '03 or '04. had been for a coupla years. then saw an '02 le Mans for sale with 15,000 mi. about 75 mi. from my house for about $5000. drove there that night. the bike was cherry, it was instant love , i had to have it. 9 mos. later, & i've put a couple thousand miles on her thru our rainy (sw wash.)winter. i guess i'll pass the true test, i'd buy her again in a second. and yeah, there are a couple issues,(i have to wiggle the bars to start her half the time now, gotta fix that) i haven't changed the shift pawl spring yet, but i guess i better. having said that, i think they are pretty reliable, but you need to be an involved owner. oh yeah, and you won't find an easier bike to adjust the valves on. good luck, stef I wish I could be so lucky to find one 500 miles close to me. I've waited for some time now. Looks like I'm either shipping or waiting till I have enough time off to drive it back.

    Good deal?

I was holding out for a 04 but this is intriguing. Good deal? 02 Le Mans for sale
  7. Did you mean two 12v 9ah batteries in parallel? I'm thinking that's what he meant.
  8. Ok so I'm looking at a 96 Sport 1100. Had a few question (more to come of course should I buy it ). Bike has 14K and a bunch of recent work including trans overhaul with closer gears by Hecht and a hotter cam (trying to find out which one was installed. I was told idle is a tad higher due to new cam). Carbs seem to be stock Dellorto 40's. Deep sump and external oil filter added. Frame was powder coated. Rear end was resealed and vented. New WP rear coil. New front disks. Several things I'm not so familiar with... - They added a quick throttle kit and had to reposition the starter button a tad higher to the right - They have a 2 battery system - new 9v's side by side (I do recall reading about this one before) - Current clip on's are too low interfering with the tank (need to go back to stock - available?) Any info appreciated.
  9. Not 100% sure. I'm looking at that bike (04 cafe sport, 10.5K miles, $6.5K) for purchase.
  10. Yeah it was replaced with that one. I'd rather have the OEM one for looks, even with the known issues then the one that was installed. It's a touch hodge podge. Not a huge deal of course.
  11. I've been looking at several used V11's for purchase and one had what I've read here is a common speedo issue. It was replaced with an aftermarket unit (the original OE unit is not available). My question is, is going back to the stock one even practical or feasible (ie. part available at a price under $500 )? TIA
  12. Greetings from New Mexico!

  13. Long time lurker who's finally signed up. I've been toying with getting a BMW K1200S until I came across a 2004 Le Mans with 3K in pristine condition for $5.25K. May jump on it, even though it's 1000 miles away from me! Paul
