Opted for the pro bolt as they are listed as brembo so should fit exactly right
-
Haven't searched through the full site to see if they have longer shanked ones yet, was just wanting to see people's opinions on them. I replaced the bolts that hold the calipers to the forks a few months back with the correct bolts from Gutsibits, they were roughly £1 each and that is why I was questioning £40
-
Thanks for the replies. Wouldn't be too keen to paint if there are bolts out there but £41 for 8 bolts seems a bit crazy. The probolts site does give full specs including pitch and head height, so im wondering would these work, slightly taller head amd marine grade so better resistance https://www.accu.co.uk/metric-cap-head-screws/3159-SSC-M8-40-A4

Hi all, it's been a long time but another V11 is back in the garage, technically belongs to my dad but it's in my garage, 2003 V11 Cafe sport with the Moto Guzzi Accessori exhausts and matching ecu, 12000 miles on it and very clean. However want to freshen up a few bolts. Does anyone know the part number for the caliper bolts as they are a bit rusty on it. Thanks

Yeah unfortunately it's up for sale, just not getting the use. Owned 9.5 years and covered 2500 km, there was several years it never turned a wheel and just sat in the house. It needs to be out and on the roads, at least a couple of times a year to keep it all happy. Cheers

Well replaced the oil feed and rubber hoses at the back of the cylinders and all looks good and off to find a new owner unfortunately. Cheers for all the help

Thanks for the reply. I contacted gutsibits and they thought headgasket or the oil feed lines but they are braided so unless they have failed. I don't suppose you have a step by step how to guide to do valves etc?

Sorry haven't had a chance to look at the 1000s until tonight and I wish I hadn't, need more help. On the left hand cylinder, as you sit on the bike, under the spark plug there is a nut, it's covered in oil. It won't tighten anymore. Can anyone tell me what the nut is and how to stop it leaking oil? Cheers

Thanks for the replies. The new floats arrived, just need to fit them. Started it up yesterday and no smoke or sticking float, typical, but I'll fit the floats anyway. I think it's probably about 9.5k

Thanks docc, it is something different. It has been an ornament more than anything else and as such I'm testing the water to sell it hence why I'm trying to sort out the few wee issues
-
I always manage to get it wrong haha. Many thanks for fixing it
-
I'll certainly try and get it out more, run plenty of fuel through it, avoid getting water in the exhausts, would anyone use any additives to the fuel? Yeah it's something different, gets lots of attention when you stop. As far as I know it was black and orange, black and green with green frame and red for the UK only se. However mine is se spec but black and orange. That's an interesting looking 1000s v11 rep. Hopefully this works. .... . http://share.photobucket.com/shareprofile/indexshare.php?id=ODYyNDI=

Haha I knew it was rare but that's rarer still. Oil would be more of a grey/blue wouldn't it? No its always on the centre stand, side stand is unnerving. Cheers

Thanks for the reply chuck, I'll get a new float ordered up and fitted, the carbs have just been cleaned and balanced so hopefully that will sort it. The smoke is very pale, I'd say white in colour, hopefully that helps. Cheers Mark

Hi all, It's been a while since I sold my v11 but I've currently got a 1994 registered 1000s, possibly se, sitting in the shed I'm looking to get back on the road. Couple of wee issues, once fully warmed up after a run, give it a good rev and you get light smoke coming out of the exhaust, mostly the left hand side, is this normal? The float on the right hand carb seems to remain open sometimes and the fuel comes out the overflow and air filter. Any tips to stop it? Thanks Mark

RHIP I never rode it with the bars up high, I got it changed round before I picked it up but from what i was told yeah the forks where pushed up to allow the bars be clipped above the yoke. Bbennett, good to hear yours is still going strong with all the miles on it. Yeah the HP2 is nice but silly price. Oh really, wish I'd known you could switch the forks like that. Would love to see pics. Bike is sold by the way Mark
