  1. SCole, your bike is looking better and better all the time! I got my pillion seat cover painted red, just fitted it last night. Really love it, thanks again for the inspiration. Going to paint my passenger peg brackets black too, love how that makes them disappear.

Thanks  A few more tricks I am going for next will be a black oil pan to lessen the silver area, black engine guards and red valve covers in that order.  We will see what works or doesn't work?

  2. FYI  On my 2000 sport I have the Stucchi and just took the big ugly silver cans off and put on late model CF cans which are 4 inches shorter and 10 pounds lighter.  This weight reduction really makes the bike feel lighter around the garage for sure!  The sound surprisingly is deeper and quite nice.  I am surprised at the difference and very much less muted.  Turned out to be a good upgrade and looks better too.

  3. That Scura in Seattle is a pretty fair deal. The Greenie is sweet too! I just don't understand why you see so many v11s with such low miles....

Well, mine has 2700 miles as each guy that bought it could not handle the low bars and kept taking it back to the dealership.  Then I got it last year and had to have back surgery so I can't ride it until later this year now, so on it goes.......................

  4. I considered red when I was adding red highlights to my silver V11 Sport but decided to leave it black and not draw attention to it.  On a black Sport I found on the web the red looked good as an extension of the frame but I wasn't as convinced with silver.  The closest red paint I have found for the frame and pork chops is Dodge Viper red.  Pretty darn close.  Powder coat for durability but really bad when time to re-do it!

  5. Mine died for no reason last month and I replaced the relays and fixed it.  Have no idea why but everything electronic on the left handle bar controls also stopped working another few weeks after the tach quit.  The relays fixed all of that and saved me a lot of time trouble shooting!

  6. Just jack the front end up at the triple tree or hang it from something and loosen the upper and lower triple tree pinch bolts.  Lower the bike down and measure 10mm from the top of the fork to the upper triple tree.  There are plenty of threads.  Let some one else do it if you don't have the capability.   On the rear shock need a spanner or a strap wrench or if you don't care about cosmetics a flat screw driver and a hammer...ouch, can't believe I said that ;-()

The tire is a problem.  Too big for the red frames anyway.  A 160 will help!

  7. Nice bike.  You can drop the forks 10mm and that is the accepted mod for these bikes from all the reading I have done around here and on the other forums.  That will make some difference.  From the pic the rear spring is out quite a bit but it looks to have a little left on the thread?  The other is what rear tire size is on it?  A 160, as many recommend around here, will drop it a little more from a 170 or 180.

Question, how do you like the sounds from the pod filters?  I put a set on mine but I still have stock mufflers and they sounded terrible.  Kind of like a choking pig with gas..........  Maybe Mistral's and I will try them again?
