al_roethlisberger Posted October 12, 2003 Posted October 12, 2003 Heh... well yeah, I sit in front of a computer most of the day as well as my vocation. I am a Network Architect-type working at Cisco Systems, and spend most of my day writing architectural docs and product evaluations. ...so I take a break every couple hours and browse this and a few other forums to break the monotony al
Admin Jaap Posted October 12, 2003 Author Posted October 12, 2003 I consider myself not as "nerdy" as you guys , but my line of work forces me to sit behind (or is it in front of?) my computer all day long: graphic- and webdesigner, self employed.
zebulon Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 i m also a computer admin & dev. Just pass too many timeson computers ! But this is the way i can own & drive such bike as my daytona rs & my prototype. I 'm going to made a little report about last week trip to Dynotec as my bike now runs and important it runs fine & strong.
callison Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 The admin part was a killer when I had 11 different versions of unix to support across 5 major OS's and a boss that had me using vacation and sick leave to cover hours when she failed to provide account numbers to work under. Toss in a couple of major cases of carpal tunnel syndrome and it gets to the point where it's time to move on. Now I'm an operator. Low key, low stress, a little under three years to retirement and I get to watch 50 million dollars worth of supercomputers, put them together and a pass to park my bike in a secure classified area. Now if I could only get one of my bikes running again...
Guest northend Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 I build them ( computers) during the winter when I can't ride. Usually just old stuff I rebuild to keep me busy during the winter. And winter is getting close. I can't stand it!!! I want to ride more but it's getting cold up here in Michigan. I've really enjoyed riding my new Le Mans this year and will be counting the days to when I can dust her off and ride again. Maybe i need to move out to Californ-i-a so I can ride all year. Anyways,I'll be serching the internet for the rare Guzzi part and will try to post more. Talk at ya.........Jeff (Northend)
