A friend who's had a mk1 for the last twenty years it all seems correct. the engine could have been misread as his engine number is stamped very close to the edge of the casting so the bottom of the "E" could easily be missed. going by the numbers he thinks it could be an early series 2 mk1 . There were 2000 series ones and 4000 series two's his is in the 1800"s . If I had 8k I'd be tempted to buy it but not much more as I've seen good condition or restored one's going for 15 to 18k.
