There was a used one (same colors) on Craigslist in Edina for $7K (I want the blue and white one). With the economy the way it is, it's a buyer's market - demand a test ride of those and the Super Duke, or anything else that strikes your fancy. I wouldn't be surprised if you liked the Tuono better than the RSV - same bike, easier ergos. If you haven't gotten a replacement yet, this Minnesota October weather has got to be driving you nuts...but give it a week or two. Where was the accident at? I want to beware of that intersection! DeBenGuzzi Posted October 24, 2010 Author Share Posted October 24, 2010 AVOID all of highway 81 right now they're doing tons of construction on it from hwy 100 to 169 and its a mess, wasn't a safe road in the first place I have no replacement nor can afford a respectable replacement either after owing a $1,000 on top of the payout, its heart breaking for me but I've got a half decent plan I'll be getting a used KLR650 with tax money looking to spend no more than 2k for a 5 year old-ish hopefully black or green KLR to get me through till I can get a Super Duke or a Tuono and it will be one of those two bikes unless a griso falls in my lap for a great price in 2012 who knows things could change and I could get a real bike by the end of next summer or mid summer but before the snow melts I'll have a KLR and F*** me the weather is driving me insane I wish it would snow so I can feel better about not having a bike, a decade with a motorcycle and now almost a month without. I just need something to ride I can get on the cheap I know it'll be a dog compared to my previous bikes and thats fine it'll get me through till I can get a griso or a super duke or tuono whatever comes up as the best deal when I'm ready, thing is I can get a decent KLR for around 2k all the other bikes I'm looking at are 8-10k so they have to wait. felix42o Posted October 27, 2010 Share Posted October 27, 2010 If you end up on a big dual sport like the KLR, you'll probably find (like I did) that the floaty suspension, short gearing, torquey single and the ability to both ride over curbs and look cool with a milk crate strapped on all sort of counter the lack of power. The brakes are pretty weak, if I had one big complaint. Other than that I think everyone should have one. Plus, if it falls over on the trail (or gets knocked over by an idiot backing up at the market like mine) you'll likely not even notice. Just look for a decent used one-they go for dirt cheap all the time and you want the "used" look on a ride like that anyway. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm not talking exceptional here like 5-8k range used griso or super duke or hell even tuono's are pretty cheap, no rush and not sure its a good idea either. I do like the idea of paying myself back with interest as we had some financial troubles a year ago and my credit isn't good now, well even if it was would using and paying back 401k money be better? my wife works at my bank and said most people just don't know they can which is why they take out higher third party loans all the time for stupid things. I'd have to say I wouldn't take a loan against your retirment for a toy, but it's all you in the the end. I'd stick with the dual sport beater plan myself.
