Chuck Posted June 6, 2017 Share Posted June 6, 2017 ^^^^^ I've seen the tach act up with a bad battery, too. You can check the alternator output on the two yellow wires. It should be roughly 45-60 VAC. If so, and it isn't charging the battery, it'll most likely be the regulator. That is the most common failure.. caused by not adding a secondary ground from the regulator case to an engine case bolt. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
