MontGuzzi
Howdy all, I have a 2004 Nero Corsa and just pulled my front wheel off for the first time. It, or course, has Ohlins forks and the spindle side that fits into left fork appears to require a special tool that fits into the spindle end to stop rotation so you can properly torque the axle nut. Where would one find such a tool? Thanks much, Gibson Hartwell Missoula, MT
Chuck
Just a big allen? In your tool kit.
MontGuzzi
No this is not an allen. I have that one on the rear spindle, but not the front. The front spindle end is basically tube with two little notches in it.
MontGuzzi
I think the tool would look something like the one in the link below, but the description specifically says "not for bikes equipped with Ohlins forks." Hmmmmm.... http://www.motomfg.com/Ducati_front_axle_alignment_tool_for_Showa_forks_p/fr-2.htm
grossohc
I have the same forks on my Cafe sport. Never used a special tool for it. All i do is put the spindle in fully and tighten the 2 left side axle allen bolts to the right torque. Tighten the axle nut then tighten the 2 right side allen bolts. Scud
Just a screwdriver shaft - a round one that matched the diameter of the notches.
