twhitaker
I bought a set of front pads for my bike this week from a Guzzi dealer and, much to my dismay, found I could buy compatible pads from a Ducati dealer for about 75% of the price. I don't know what the part number is. A couple years ago I bought a front brake lever for less than half the Guzzi price at a Duc dealer but I did not think the case would be the same with a consumable like brake pads. Moral of the story. A lot of the parts on our bikes are generic. It pays to shop around before you buy. Buell turn signals for instance. I got a lense from a Guzzi dealer for $6 a couple weeks ago. Keith Foster
Even though this example is not truly along your topic, this week I bought 2 of the crossover gaskets/sleeve things - $19.50 each! an a spare speedo cable - $27.50 for a total of $72.50 with shipping to my house. Pricey stuff for sure.
