Inherent V11 weave?

I notice a slow but constant 'weave' effect when just going straight & at a relaxed pace.

 

Increasing steering dampening obviously lessens this sensation.

 

(hands off slowing down REALLY makes sure i'm not imagining this! )

 

I never really noticed it on my Daytona 1000, so was wondering:

 

Is this notmal for these beasts or should I be cheacking something real soon?

Look at your front tire!

 

The BT 020 front tire seems to wear out very fast (6000 km).

I had more abrasion than on the rear wheel and a "saw tooth" effect too.

Yes, definately more worn out, (though not overworn).

 

I guess it's time to replace to keep it in step with the back.

Definately the tires are the #1 cause for weave. It also may benefit you to check the swingarm alignment to be sure the front and rear are tracking together.

I have covered 4.800 kms on my Scura on BT 020 and I can let go of the handlebar at speeds exceeding150 kmph without any weaving. I'll keep an eye on front tyre from now on, that's for sure (thanks for the tip Jan )

PS: Love your name - I've stopped counting the number of times when people say 'scooter' instead of Scura. Some even think it's a 'Senna' when they see the bike parked on the street.....

The BT020 wears out quickly? Are you kidding?

At 8000miles, I've got some minor cupping, but not wore out.
