Assen TT Questions

If the stars align right, I may be able to be in Holland for the Assen TT. Unfortunately, I may not have my bike with me. My question is...

 

Is it a big hassle making it to the circuit by train or rental car?

 

I'm not big on camping so, how far from the circuit will I be able to find hotels that aren't full?

hi orson,

 

i am guessing your flying in at schiphol airport, train to assen will take you about 3 hours car about 2.5 hours.... staying in assen can be a problem but if you book in advance there shouldn't be a problem. The campgrounds however are a nice experience ....

Orson, I don't have much experience with the TT in Assen. Been there only a couple of times in the 80's. You could still sleep on the circuit-terrain, then.

 

An early hotel reservation would be advisable!

reserve now! I like the http://www.hoteldejonge.nl/ It's in the center of assen, and the night before TT is a party night in town, til early. Maybe if you want to sleep, get a place outside the center.

What about from the train station to the circuit? How far? Walking distance or will I need a taxi? Will the taxi get stuck in traffic?

The circuit is outside town, but they ask people to come with train and bus, so I suppose there is a busline from center town to the circuit.
