I had watched another auction for a Rosso Corsa go down a few months earlier, before I was prepared to buy, so when another Rosso Corsa became available my maximum bid was the winning amount on the previous auction. Turns out I got it for a couple of hundred less, but it wasn't cheap. The moral of the story is a sellar will get whatever the market will bear at the time of the auction, cheap or no.
