rudi Posted April 25, 2003 Share Posted April 25, 2003 I was coming from amsterdam last monday when I noted some oilstains on my right boot. After inspection it turned out that the right valvecover bolts were 'a bit loose ' so got the fairing of and tightened all bolts. There not steel but when I opened my toolcase I noticed my table with torques for metric thread which I got from a chief engineer from my vessel. It might come in handy for the guzzistos who mainain there own bike and have a torque wrench. The guys with the "odd system" have to convert sizes , sorry but I suppose guzzi's come metric in the US/UK as well? tried to upload it in faq but couldn't so here it is: Metric Torques: Size Size Size Torque thread hex allen moment spanner wrench Nm M 3 6 3 hand M 5 8 4 hand M 6 10 5 12 M 8 13 6 27 M 10 17 8 45 M 12 19 10 85 M 16 24 14 190 M 20 30 17 370 M 24 36 19 640 Note: settings are for hex bolts and nuts of steel grade 8,9 and treated with lub oil or locktite. hope this helps someone in the future ciao Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
