I finally did it, I went with a group of north-swedes to the Kemora track in Finland.

I have been a the way a couple of times before but something always got in the way.

45 guys, most with modern jap inline-4s,

and some of them bloody fast,

for three days of track time.

We where devided into three groups, green, blue and red where I joined

the greens = slow beginners. One of the fast guys is also an riding instructor

with the swedish motorcyclist organisation (SMC) and he took the time to give

us some technical tips between the sessions.

Of course with a Guzzi you can't match a R1 or Fireblade on the straights, but

on the last day I find that I had to let the throttle off early so I didn't run into some

of those guys in the bends. :race:

No kneedragging though, my Rossopuro footpegs are about 20 cm higher up than

the stock ones on an 2002 R1, so even if I use the full width of my Diablo rear tyre

it is still quiet a bit down to the ground. Perhaps next time....

This was the most fun I have had on a bike since I took my licence in 1979!

Only regret is that I didn't test it earlier.

Only one problem, I was out for a short run this evening and tested some bends

I used to find exaiting before. Now they are just bland and unchallenging.

PS:

only 3 crashes in 3 days, mostly material damage, only one guy did get to see the inside

of a finnish ambulance and he is not too seriously damaged. Could leave to hospital the next

day but won't be riding for a couple of weeks.
