  3. Hi Folks Project Satan has decreed that I sell my 2009 Speed Triple, its a reluctant sale but the Guzzi needs the money. If anyone is interested in an awesome bike, packed full of grins then let me know. here's a few details: Its a 2009 matt black model, owned by me from new and its been faultless Its got a full Triumph Service history and only done around 9,700 miles (mostly long distance work). Its got a lot of Triumph special parts: Arrow full 3:1 exhaust (titanium) (and original unused system) Gel seat Datatool alarm Black bars Bar end mirror Carbon fibre seat cover, mudguard, hugger, side panels and headlight cowl It also has a fair number of standard parts (exhaust etc) unused.   4. Moto Guzzi 1100 cafe racer for sale Based on a Jackal 1100, Y reg, 33,000 miles on gearbox & rear drive but engine has only done 3,000 miles (fitted by Moto Corsa - Jackal was supplied by them). Tank shop alloy body work, Moto Spezial adjustable clip ons. Maxton rear shocks. Keihan stainless big bore exhaust. Wheels built by Central Wheels Co - alloy black rims with stainless spokes. Powder coated hubs. Gel seat. Fitted with a brand new set of Brembo discs (twin front) pads just 3,000 miles ago. New clutch. Recent UJ & support bearing, head bearings & wheel bearings. Reluctant sale but I have a new project and could do with the space. Tax & Mot until March 2011. £3,900 ono.   8. Hiya I definately want a double room on the Friday and Saturday. My GF is hoping to join us, I hope thats ok. Sunday is a bit of an unknown at the moment so I'd better leave that for now. There is a slight chance I'll be over the week before for the NW200 but I can't confirm that yet (too many variables) but I'd love to see some of that racing. Cheers Mal

  11. http://www.arteauto.com/carriagelampearly1900s.aspx I'm sure you could shoehorn a halogen bulb into this baby Otherwise an 80's BMW, the R65 had a small headlamp (black metal back, chrome rim), R80/100 had something similar to the V11. Motorworks may be able to help with these. Mal

  17. Hi all I have no excuses other than madness.... Yes sorry I've turned to the dark side and added a blimmer to the stable (R1100S although its an ss model but I don't advertise that too much!). Soren, I don't think there is an explanation without a psychiatrists report but a week or so before our European tour I had the V11 in bits (clutch problems) the LM3 in bits (top end problems) and no sign of parts arriving in time for either of them, I had a spare bit of cash in my pocket and some loose marbles elsewhere about my person, a perfect recipe for rash bike buying. I wanted something a bit different (and that could do trips two up - girlfriend and/or inflatable sheep and no I don't want a breva) and had a few bikes in mind and I'm sorry to say have always quite liked the 1100s, its something I've tried to hide and get counselling for but as soon as my psychiatric nurse turned his back I was off running over the fields and got hold of a sagging titmobile...and do you know whats worse, I've just done a 2,500 mile trip around europe and really enjoyed it...... Can't be all bad as I can't imagine life without a Guzzi and will keep one of them. Mal (part time leper)

Ahhhh Guzzirider has blown my cover Yes it has been to Santa Pod although all that would have done is wear out the clutch plates and at worse warped the intermadiate plate (which it didn't - thats fine). Generally I don't ride the bike any differently to any previous Guzzi's and I've done huge milages on some of them and taken most apart for one reason or another and seen less wear. I'd agree that the loose clutch plate is probably to blame for a lot of this but I'll check out the cush drive, thanks for the advice. Hubert - yes the bike gets used int he winter although I do generally wash the bike down afterwards if the roads have been salty (although I don't think I'll bother taking the alternator cover off each time!), I'll see if I can replace the part although as I've said the alternator has been working fine. I'm waiting for a new engine cover to arrive (hopefully soon) and as soon as that arrives the engine will go back together (with new clutch plates of course) and then I'll just get on with riding it.   19. Antonio Sorry to hear about the crash, at least you are ok. As for the weekend in Ken Bridge, it was fab, and a belated thanks to all who turned up and made it a great weekend, I should have taken my V11 really (and despite all of its recent problems - see technical "clown bike" I'm sure it would have made it) but I wanted to test ride the rebuilt Le Mans 3. Hopefully my comedy clown bike V11 will be back together soon. Mal
  20. Here is the alterator crack, as I said this has been working fine like this for a while (could be years). And something I'm not so happy about is the flywheel marks, I've since cleaned up all the gunk and it isn't quite this bad but still more wear for its milage than I've seen on other flywheels on older Guzzi's and I can't even blame this on previous owners as I've had this bike from new. Funny thing was as I've said, the clutch was working fine other thanthe occasional Alpine slipping. Hopefully it'll all be back together soon or I'll be taking the Le Mans 3 around Europe. Mal
  21. Hi all It was good to see a few of you at the V11 bash a few weeks ago. In preparation for my European tour in a few weeks I thought I'd better sort out that clutch as it had been slipping on some of the steepest alpine passes (Stelvio etc) last year. Since then its been fine but I thought what the hell, I've a few spare days. Took the engine out (very easy) and found that the friction material had come away fromthe plate but had been working like this for some time (probably a year) as the clutch plate it was originally attached to was very shiny and had obviously been used as a type of intermediate plate. I'm amazed it was still going but had been working for thousands of miles (and only the day before I stripped it it had been up over some hilly roads in Yorkshire). The flywheel has some serious grooves (and I'm not talking funky here) for the milage (only 33,000 miles). At the same time I found that the front oil leak I'd had for over a year was caused by a cracked timing cover plate (and no its never been dropped) and to add insult to injury the alternator was cracked too although this has obviously been like it for ages judging by the dirt in the crack and has been working fine. To be fair, the bike has been very reliable and has taken me everywhere and must have been holding on despite slowly falling apart but it does make me wonder if the wheels would fall off next Mal
  22. Hi to one and all of the brave folk who made it up to Scotland, it was a top weekend despite the "mishaps" . It was great to meet up with all of you and I look forward to doing so again, Chris, thanks for organising this, I know the original destination wasn't good but that wasn't your fault and the weekend turned out to be superb, I hope you are recovering well. In short, great company, roads and weather (most of the time), and no actual Guzzi breakdowns (just gravity related damage). Cheers Mal
  23. Hi Brian This may not be of much use but I was experiencing some very strange feelings from my clutch (ooh err) a year ago, it felt like it wasn't engaging properly and made some odd noises. It vanished as soon I bled the clutch, probably not the problem but worth a try. A good thing is that Guzzi clutches are simple robust units and relatively easy to replace/repair. Good luck Mal
