  1. Overview: Taking the best of three generations of Guzzi's last real sport bikes and pay honor and also a tribute to Italy's oldest Motorcycle company. From the Daytona: 4V High cam Engine. V11: Will serve as the build point. Using the 6 speed transmission with the Daytona engine as the main part. MGS-01 Wheels ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Engine will be modified with a geared timing system, upgraded oil pump and cam followers. Displacement increase along with bigger valves and a lot of expensive head work. Suspension will be completely replaced. Mupo Italy will provide the rear shock, Steering damper and Fork Cartridges. The forks i am waiting on to be built and i will show everyone when i have them here. Radial Brembo GP Calipers front axle. Frame will remain stock aside from the front subframe from my Centauro donor bike. Body is "skinned" in Carbon fiber and a Honda CR750 Full Fairing will be fitted. A NOS SEV MARCHAL H1 +H3 Amplilux Headlight
  2. I am going to start a new build page. I had some issues with rude behavior and in retrospect, it isn't worth not being here. That explains why i dropped off the site for a few months. Anyway i'm back and sorry to anyone that may have been disappointed or let down for my abrupt absence.
  3. @docc Hi Docc, You have on of these Seal Mate Fork Seal Cleaning Tool ? I bought a two pack, so if you don't...you will
  4. I don't see why not. I use it on my heavy equipment. I used to use WD-40 and switched over to using boeshield and it works. When i need to work on it, i spray everything down with it and it seems to do a much better job then anything I've tried in the past 20+ years. i don't want to sound like an infomercial but i'd say grab a can and try it. It's not too expensive.
  5. I use BOESHIELD T-9 Rust & Corrosion Protection/Inhibitor On everything except sandwiches and soups....
  6. Thanks for letting me know.. I wasn't aware it was fake. The price wasn't faux that's for sure....I am going to have Astech Seats modify it and trim it because the tail was skinned in carbon and it'll be an even tighter fit then.
  7. I've never seen that style. Mine is completely different. It looks like this:
  8. After a bit of climate change....I went out and tweaked on it some more. Much better fit. I removed the tail and re-installed it and it was a lot easier to get it into place. Once my new seat gets here, i know i can have the guys trim it to fit perfectly
  9. Awesome! I will bring the Digital suspension / sag tool and we can dial in everyone's ride. I'll dig up my Ohlins spanner..should fit these shocks.
  10. All good advice, thanks. I'm going to let the pro's figure that out. Both bikes are going to Chicago for the heart transplant. I was excited and wanted to see at least the tail on it and get an idea of how it fits. when the pump parts arrive, I'll also get that tank on. I'm going to pull the starter cover and have that remade in carbon, not skinned so if anyone would like a carbon starter cover chime in and you'll pay exactly what it costs..no mark up from me.
  11. True..I do have a Tenni seat that'll be here Tuesday. I am going to take a ride down to Astech Seats to have them do their foam/gel custom sculpting thing and get that passenger part trimmed so the cover fits perfect. It does bolt up..and that's a new tail I purchased from a member here. On the bottom of the seat there are two sections on either side that slip in between the tail. I had to sand those down a wee bit, looks like I'll need to invest some time and money to get the Tenni to fit like it should. All in all not bad for initial test fitting...
  12. Well that took a fair amount of coaxing. I think I’ll leave her out in the sun and get those parts warmed up and tweak it a little more.
  13. You are correct, this isn't pure carbon. I spent quite a bit of time looking into having these pieces reproduced and the set up cost alone is enough to make you cry. You would be essentially paying for one off parts. I didn't think i could even hope to recoup that money offering pieces made to order for anyone else. If money was no object then yes of course i would do it. I had even more radical ideas and this has been a very difficult endeavor. Trying to run a business and spend hours on the phone / zillion emails. So compromises are whats going to bring this to life in a reasonable time period. These are skinned. If you go to Exotic Car Gear's website you can read about how they do it. It ain't that detestable vinyl. It does add some weight, which i will counter with other lightweight components. I do have a full fairing that will be cut and fitted, I am having that copied in pure carbon once the fiberglass pieces is fitted. This is a replica Honda CB750 race fairing: That will cost $1,700 to be made in pure Carbon. Thankfully i don't have to pay for the set up. In my situation, using those dollars for other things is a better allocation of resources. The set up costs just for the tank and tail was in the multi thousands of dollars. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but you'll see what i ended up spending those dollars on.
  14. The tank I bought was listed as "used" But when i looked at it, i couldn't tell. Looked new to me and the pump still has the little plugs and ties holding everything together. I did send the tank out to be cleaned and lined to prevent that problem. I think being in a carbon fiber carapace should keep it together. The pieces are substantial. I'm waiting for a new gasket, the bolts and washers, fuel lines and new quick connects plus the new style all metal filter. I think tomorrow i will install the tail.
  15. 2003 Fuel tank and pump: $570 Fuel Tank Lining: $501 New Tail: I think it was $300? Carbon Fiber Skinning: $1,780
  16. Yes, i wanted to go with pure fiber with a liner. That proved to be cost prohibitive. So i had the tank lined by GTL Advantage. Carbon fiber is very strong, if anything it'll resist flexing. I personally don't know of anyone who's done this. Time will tell....I didn't use my Scura tank, I bought a '03 tank and will also be switching to "in tank fuel pump/filter"
  17. All work performed by Exotic Car Gear I opted to have the tank lined to prevent any problems with fuel. Here are some pictures! wow this is going to be beautiful!!
  18. That’s a good question. You’d have better luck finding a picture of a unicorn with a hard on then you will finding any sort of detailed pictures of these things. I’ll be taking a serious look when they arrive. Might just need to whack off the inlets if they are angled and have pipes made to fit. My original idea was to run the mufflers way up and tight right next to the tail. I think I can make it work with these.
  19. I was busy spending money while the wallet was still smoldering and seen this on their site. I remember reading that quite a few people were having issues.. and this is listed as a “new product” sharing is caring...
  20. Right... I know from speaking with Joe Caruso in England these 4v engines had a problem with the oil pump and cam followers. From what I’ve been told, the Centauro I bought was a 1 owner bike and it has 28K on it. No problems from what they say. Since it’s coming apart for some performance modifications, I went ahead with the timing gear set, improved oil pump and custom cam followers. I’m thinking maybe I won’t need the plate or it won’t fit. So I’d rather pass it along to someone who needs one of they are not available (from reputable people)

  22. Lucky? Welp... I’ll remind myself of that when I’m enjoying my umpteenth bowl of white rice If I’m lucky...I’ll have them on the Moto for the trip to Tennessee. I’m hoping they won’t be as loud as my current set up. Not that I dislike the rumble...but when you are riding with a group, it can be rude unless you are in the back of the pack...
  23. If these don’t fit a 4v Daytona engine, yes.
  24. In keeping with the rare & exotic theme. I also came across what very well may be one of the last NOS Tenni Suede seats around. And yes, I did get the little passenger hump also.
