  1. A bike for old men, GR. A bike for old men: judging by the last photo.

Have they all just recently stepped off Moto Guzzis?

    Hmm, what's wrong about being/getting old(er), David? :oldgit::D

I like the new Nortons; a genuine bike it is and I wouldn't mind having one parked in the garage. It's still true to its roots and it somehow resembles the old Commando. High five from me.

  2. Only "dry" fitted but it looks promising! Fits well.

Hey they looks great! I would've gone with a flush gas cap, but it still looks awesome. Do you plan on getting some more polished pieces to compliment the tank?

I ended up buying a 2002 V11 Lemans from MPH cycles. It will be here in Michigan in about two weeks time. I can't wait. :)

I almost went with a flush cap but I wanted the bike to have an "older" feel to it. It is also offset to the right so it has a unique look to it. A polished front fender would look really nice.........would have to adapt something. Will get this going for a bit. Was toying with painting the tail red or something. The nice things with these/our bikes is they are relatively inexpensive compared to new so you can only mess them up so much.

Looks the dogs bollocks, Bob! :notworthy:

I've requested a Daytona style tank so it's a bit different from yours. Also asked for a solo seat with build in rear lights..

  3. And guess who received a call from John Williams/the Tank Shop yesterday evening? Yup, yours truly.

John will have my tank ready first week in March (give or take a couple of months..) so I'm looking forward to receiving my bling.

Have a nice weekend everyone

  4. I was just looking at some Guzzi's on Ebay for kicks and I came upon the strangest looking guzzi ever. This thing looks like some monster ate an Ambassador and a V11 Sport, half digested them and then vomited the results onto Ebay. I was kind of chuckling about the cartoon nature of the thing until I noticed that there were ACTUAL BIDS on the thing! Its currently at $18500 usd. Now of course I have to wonder if one of you guys in here are bidding on it?

Well, its still winter here in Ohio and since I cant ride em I'm reduced to looking at em! lol

Take a look on Ebay and tell me what you think!

Hmm, not my cup of tea to be frank......

And how about this lsd-trip cobber Guzzi? My link

  5. ESPN Classic TV runs some of the old WSB races occasionally and yesterday they showed the WSB Monza race from the late Nineties where you had all the action one can ever dream of.

    WSB 2000 Hockenheimring

    wow! :o

I just granted myself a 46mins lunch break thanks to you, Orson  Boy, I miss Pierfrancesco Chili! Balls of steel he had/still has. And Mr. Bayliss, of course! Have seen him numerous times on the European race tracks. He's so consistent; hardly ever crashed, taking his Ducati to the limit. A true racing hero in my little world.

    Thanx!

    Søren

  6. Do you remember this one? Last race of the season, Edwards didn't need to win this race, only had to finish second to Bayliss to take the title...but Bayliss needed him back in third...

Thanks, Keith :notworthy: That's racing in a nutshell. Noticed Neil Hodgson in the start up line, he was ace at that time. Something about he started racing in the US Superbike Series or what? Haven't seen him for many years on European race tracks.

    Cheers

  7. Spot on, Jaap. Won't make the big headlines but will probably be a joy to watch for us the chosen few. Can't wait till WSB/SBK/BSB season kicks off! Best entertainment to watch on the telly; far better than all, the reality sh*** Danish TV provides nowadays.

ESPN Classic TV runs some of the old WSB races occasionally and yesterday they showed the WSB Monza race from the late Nineties where you had all the action one can ever dream of. Slight, Foggy, Corser, Chili and Edwards went from the gun and gave each other a close race to the checkered flag. Chili pipped victory 0.007 secs from Slight with Fogarty and Corser trailing ½ a second away! What a race! I can only recommend watching these races; puts a smirked grin on your face from ear to ear :bike:

    Race on!

  8. He's a knob. Full stop.

Riders like him put a bad label on all of us. It only takes one tosser to categorize all motorcyclists as raving lunatics. Watched a documentary from BBC yesterday, "Cops", it's called, about motorcyclists driving erratically in Sussex, UK. Funny part was that they were not youngsters with way too big bikes; they were all grown up men with a death wish. One of the rozzers said he'd scrape up something like 8-10 riders per year! Makes you think.....

Don't get me wrong; I also like to go fast but never ever in a build up area. Putting the hammer down on the German Autobahn whenever possible is fun but nothing I would do downtown Copenhagen.

Time for grandpa to take a nap. Slippers off, put the pipe on the table next to my nice cup af tea and doze off for half an hour :oldgit:;)

See you all on the roads very soon!

    Cheers

  9. I've always wondered if Jaap was a secret pornmaster in addition to looking after motorcycle based forums. I guess he has to pay for a Ghezzi Brian somehow!

Did Ratch disappear to become a full time fluffer for Jaaps USA film productions?

Young Mrs. Guzzirider once told me the true meaning of the word 'fluffer'. I do see images that I really cannot cope with, Guy.....

  10. Hey Guzzisti,

Last spring i bought a 02 naked in the colour burgundy. It is imported from the UK Southhampton Moto Corsa dealership. Now i know that there must be more burgundy's around but it seems to me they are a bit rare, specialy in Holland. I've read the treads with a lot of registry types but what about this colour for the naked? Who has the same colour?

p.s. the former owner did a good job! I got de Bosch relays and odessey battery already mounted. Heck maybe the former is still on this forum and recognises my bike!

    Netherlands

Congratulations with your burgundy V11, Matz :-) Mighty fine bike and a very nice colourscheme. AFAIK Mrs. Guzzirider is one of the few other burgundy bike owners here in this forum but I'm probably wrong.

Hope to see you on the roads next year.

    Cheers

  11. Sounds a bit like a Tory politician talking to the massed press reporters on his doorstep:

"I was innocently cleaning my silencers and it was a very hot day so I decided to do this in the nude. And somehow I accidently rammed my male member into the downpipe exhaust hole and it got stuck. And this perfectly explains how I ended up in hospital attached to a heavy Italian motorcycle and needed a team of surgeons with an angle grinder to release my aforementioned organ from the downpipe. With hindsight I do of course wish I had placed a rag in the downpipe as this would have helped prevent my unfortunate predicament. I know there has been some speculation in the media that I have unusual motorcycle fetish but this is utter nonsense. The fact that last year I was also admitted to hospital with an Ohlins shock up my arse was due to another unfortunate freak accident. That concludes my statement and I trust you will now leave myself and my family to enjoy our day in peace."

watch out, Ed Milliband, David Cameron and bunch: Here comes the new political star in UK: Mr. Guy Lewis, OBE, MBE, WTF etc......

  12. ...

As far as I see it we have the following gameplan for 2011 V11 Rallies:

    May: Denmark. More to come

August/September: UK (Wales, Ireland, Scotland) or Finland.

    ...

July in Germany we used to have a lot of fun here: Treffen V11Sport.de Grebenhain Go to "Bilder ..." to get an impression of what's happening there.

It's best to come with a tent as most of the available rooms were booked directly after the last meeting.

    Hubert

Ermmm, what are you German guys up to, Hubert??

    Kinky!

  13. No riding here in Denmark as the country is covered in snow. On top of that we had icy rain this morning! Hate it...

And that's a bloody beautiful Commando you have, Gino! :notworthy: Just got myself a new screensaver for my PC thanks to you :o)

  14. Dunno if someone has a plan for this part of the world? I think BFG was saying something maybe, but he also said he was very busy this year, and he has organised 2 trips now.

I live in Clare in the west coast of ireland, near Limerick city, nice spot with the cliffs of Moher and the Burren within an hour or so. There's a decent pub/b&b / campground near me,on the Shannon river, and I could organise something for augustish, but I won't know for sure until late february whether I'm free.

But it's just a thought. It's a bit far for the continentals, And we've done Ireland 2 years running now. Would people prefer Wales/Scotland?

    Me again,

I wouldn't mind a trip to either Ireland, Wales or Scotland. For me it's just one-two days work on the road. BFG has done a mighty fine job organizing two rallies so he has done his tour of duty I would say. With your job in mind, Fergal, I presume that you can be called in with a very short notice, right? Would be a pity if you have to cancel a rally 5 minutes before closing time, if you catch my drift. Any other Irishmen who can give a helping hand?

The Netherlands are within reach for everyone due to its location in the centre of Europe; we have been in Sibbe twice and we love the place but why not aim for the "outbacks"? Kari from Finland also talked about arranging a rally in Helsinki so there are plenty of opportunities.

As far as I see it we have the following gameplan for 2011 V11 Rallies:

    May: Denmark. More to come

August/September: UK (Wales, Ireland, Scotland) or Finland.

    Are there any other volunteers?

    Søren

  15. Any thoughts, suggestions,?

I'm snowed in, minus 8 degrees. Need something to look forward too.

    Hi Fergal,

we talked about having a rally in Spring in Denmark and then return to Sibbe, NL in August/September as far as I recall. You remember Sibbe, don't you? :D:bier::drink:

I'm having talks with a MC camping site in Jutland, Denmark (the main body of Denmark) and I can assure you that's a damned fine place. All the necessities are available, e.g. cabins, showers, mini-supermarket and what have you. The camping site is located right here: MC Touring Camp The homepage is available in English.

Don't cut your wrists, summer is just around the corner, inshallah....

    Cheers
