Someone has been in here before and already extended the bracket on the shifter for the linkage, but it looks a little shoddy and if there's an extended bracket I could buy to replace this one I'd gladly do that. Also I can't tell from all the posts where the current best place is to buy a spring. A lot of the info in various threads in here is great, but it's old and has been replaced with new springs/sources and the sheer amount of posts on this topic is pretty overwhelming for a newb to V11s. Could someone point me to the best source for whatever spring you all feel is the best available? I'll check the frame plate for marks to be sure the shifter isn't getting hung up. It never felt like that was the issue. Thanks all.

Also what weight Redline Shockproof do you guys use (heavy, light or super light)? Superlight looks like it'll work. From Redline: Film thickness greater than an SAE 75W90, yet low fluid friction like ATF

Hello. I just picked up an 03 Lemans and its got a shifting issue. Upshifts are fine but downshifts are problematic especially when the bike is warmed up. The shift lever stays down until I let the clutch out and then it pops back to the normal position. Trying additional downshifts eventually gets me down through the gears (after a lot of clutch in/out and shifter work) but its very unpredictable and something is obviously wrong. I read this thread, took off the sidecover of the trans aand don't see anything obviously wrong. I'll do the polishing/etc described in this topic but want to know if I should look for anything in particular that would cause my problem. Thanks in advance!
