  1. @po18guy this sounds like it's worth a try. I'll give it a shot , thanks!
  2. I'll have a look this weekend! What gauge wire should I use when running the ground wire off the regulator?
  3. @GuzziMotothanks! I should have gone to the website and checked on this info for myself. I'm happy to say that when the bike is off 12.85 is what my battery reads and it's been hovering in the mid 70s mostly here in Kansas City.
  4. @GuzziMotothanks for the post ok the allotted volts for the battery. This helps out my mind at ease. I see a lot of posts on here about the guzzidiag tool, can anyone link the most useful? I want to know where to download and what hardware I will need. During my boring day job I'm a Software QA so I feel more then confident working with the tool as opposed to my extreme basic understanding of power flow on this bike lol. Thanks in advance for any help
  5. @LaGrasta thanks ! I picked up a new Odesy from Harper's so I was also playing it safe for the battery's sake as it was not inexpensive. Riding looks bad here after today but great next week so I'll put some miles on it!
  6. Sounds good to me the. I was under the impression that 14.6v was too high. The battery is only a few weeks old with less than 100 miles on it. I'll take the win and just ride then. I really appreciate all the help on this!
  7. Thanks for the link @LaGrasta @doccjust got back from a half hour test ride. No issue with tach , however at idle it's at 12.6 and at 3k rpm after the ride I am showing in 14.6 v which brings me back to my original assumption of bad reg/rec and that it should be replaced. Any thoughts?
  8. Yep check and check. However I will will say that the tach would only do that cycling issue when the bike was going down the road. Not at idle. Tomorrow I'll take the bike out and make sure the tach is better.
  9. @docc and everyone else that helped out on this , just wanted to say thanks! My new correct relays came in today and after swapping them out I'm seeing 13.3-13.4v at about 2500 rpm. I won't have a chance to take it for a test ride until tomorrow but can I operate under the assumption for now that with it putting out over 13v while running that the system is charging as it should? I have put 5 extra relays in the tool bag just to be safe.
  10. @Speedfrog at least I know why I was blowing that fuse now lol.
  11. Oh man, egg on my face. After looking at my order confirmation again, I accidentally order the 24v relays🤦
  12. @docc I was wrong in saying that. I believe the relays that were just delivered are all 24v wlWhen comparing my original order from digikey that I bought last month and the order that showed up today they are not the same relay The first set of relays I was sent 12VDC1.2R But the new relays are marked as 2VDC1.2R
  13. I understand and definitely appreciate this mindset. I remember when he replaced it and he was satisfied with how it worked but I don't think was ever nuts about how it looked. I just can't drop $600+ on a used Veglia right now. I have had 3 go bad in one way or the other on my Stone over the last 20 years so I am a bit hesitant to invest the money on a tach that might kind of work but will look good. This is my only bike with an analog tach. My Stone is just a speedo and my BMW has a digital screen. Seeing a digital bar raise and lower isn't nearly as fun as watching that tach needle rise and fall !
  14. @doccthat is indeed what I order, they just sent the wrong thing unfortunately.
  15. @p6x the veglia failed years ago and dad replaced with with an Equus. This Amazon link appears to be the same tach. Equus 8068 3-3/8" Tachometer (DIS), White with Aluminum Bezel https://a.co/d/6TEqrOT @docc my new relays from have arrived by digikey but it appears they sent the wrong ones. The last oder I received said 11v CIT RELAY at the bottom where as these say 07v and they are blowing my 10a ignition switch fuse every time I turn the bike on. Looks like I'm going to ha w to let the problem set for a few days while I wait for new relays again.
  16. Thanks @docc! You guys have been so helpful with all this info you've been providing me, I really appreciate it!
  17. Thanks GuzziMoto. From what I can tell all my lights/signals/horn work as they should. FedEx is telling my new relays will be here today, and I do go eah and order 10 more of the relays Docc called out above. I plan on using contact cleaner on the FL relays base but other than feeling a slight amount of resistance when replacing the relay, how do I go about tightening how they sit in the base? I'm sorry if this seems like a rudimentary question, I swear I've been ridding Guzzis for 2 decades, it's just that my old Cali Stone has been dead nuts reliable without any of these types of issues.
  18. Docc- based off pass posts I read on here concerning relays I ordered a 10 pack of CIT A11CSQ24VDC1.2D from digikey and they are supposed to arrive tomorrow. I had replaced them all before however this was when the bad battery was still in the bike. I had assumed that running new relays on the battery that didn't hold a charge had damaged them and since they are pretty inexpensive I just went ahead and ordered new relays last week. EDIT/correction: correct relay: CIT A11CSQ12VDC1.5R
  19. Thanks Tom, I'll take a look at them.
  20. Thanks for the tips GuzziMoto. Just checked and I do have high/low beams. I know all my fuses are good as I have checked those over. I have a new set of relays arriving today or tomorrow and will be swapping them out just to cross that off my list before taking it to the shop.
  21. That is much less than I have seen on Guzzi specific sites. Has anyone on here used this Amazon product before and can vouch for it?
  22. Thanks everyone for your replies, sorry for being a bad new forum member and not relaxing my browser had logged me out and I was not seeing any updates. I have replaced the battery but think I still have an issue. I just made a new thread:
