  1. [ I'm planning a trip up to the Ontario Rally in two weeks and I will be coming home through Thunder Bay and Duluth MN. To do this in the time I have it is going to require multiple 500+ mile days. This would be nothing on my Concours but I have to approach this differently on the LeMans. Any ideas out these? See you there. I have a Corbin Gunfighter that I purchased last year and was not happy with it. Offered it for sale but no bites. I agree that Corbins customer service sucks. So I took it to a local upholstery shop and am letting them have at it. Shaving it down so it will be closer to the original shape as I found the stock seat better (go figure). The slope was just too high and put me too far foreward. I just wanted to get off that seat after an hour so hopefully these changes will be an improvement. It`s all a matter of ergonomics, what`s good for one person may not be good for another. Picking the seat up Monday. You`ll get to see it at Utopia as this will be the test ride. Just as an aside , my buddy took his `01 Sport to the east coast and back (Thunder Bay) on a stock seat with no complaints. I wimped out , left the LeMans at home and took an `81 Gold Wing, seat wasn`t much better. Check out Wasaga Beach on the way up, it`s Canadas' California, (white sand beaches and bikinis' galore).

    Tenni #139

Hi Van, Yes thanks, the arm is getting better now that I`ve had a chance to rest it. I`m told it`s going to take a long time to heal. Just my luck as far as the weather and all ,oh well southern BC made up for it and the trip home was dry and warm. Highway #22 from #3 to Calgary was terrific , I just love that country with the mountains in the background. got there just as Stampede week ended which is fine with me as it is a zoo. They can`t seem to build a by-pass road around that city as it`s growing so fast. Same offer stands if you decide to ride east. I`m thinking on selling the Tenni as much as I love it, at my age I`m thinking I need floorboards and a plush seat. So If anyone out there with a California model is interested in a deal for the only other Tenni (with 3 seats) in Canada, we`ll talk. Also an all original `78 Ducati Dramah SD in need of cosmetics and a `81 Suzuki 850G shaftie (the blue beauty). Ciao for now
  3. Boy..........how quickly the threads change! Getting back to your question...........I was through that area 2 weeks ago. I came from the East on Highway #16 also called the Yellowhead trail which passes through Prince George on the way to Prince Rupert on the West coast. Watch out for deer, logging truck debris and a psycho in a blacked out Ford Vicky near PG that came in to my lane as I approached, just for fun I guess. Oh those cowboys. I spent the night in a town called Houston ,nice place ,good resteraunt. The turn-off to Hyder is at a place called Kitiwanga where I stopped for gas and a cup of tea (don`t forget to take a picture in front of the sign, you can`t miss it) It was 230 km from there, about 2 hours. I spoke with a fellow from Colorado who rode up there, got gas and turned back and got the third degree at the border so make sure you have your passports to alleviate any potential problems. Bring your jacket liners, rain gear and electric vest. I strongly recommend this especially if your going to be riding at night. One thing to consider is that a lot of small towns don`t have 24 gas stations. Personally I prefer southern BC along #3 which follows the border through towns like Osoyoos and Trail. Great roads and a hell of a lot warmer. Hope this helps. Have a great ride.

    Springfield

Any Guzzisti going to Springfield IL for the races next weekend? Maybe we can hookup and swap a few lies. Leaving the frozen North on the 24th and heading through Duluth and planning a stop at Betty`s Bikes and Buns either on the way down or coming back. Got a Map Quest route but as it gives the shortest one any suggestions as far as a better route would be appreciated. Thanks, Ciao
  5. Hi Randy, Seat height and footpeg position is a matter of personal ergonomics. What`s good for one person may not be good for another. I had a Corbin Gunfighter on my LeMans and found it too tall . I`m 5`9" and a have a 30" inseam so for me it was too high . I did lower the pegs 1" and with the stock seat I am quite happy now. If you decide to go with a taller seat, pm me and I`ll give you a good deal. Ciao
  6. The fairing on the Lemans restricts the height you can raise the bars. I found it to be about 2" up and 1" back and still have the reservoirs and lever perches clear the fairing. The only line I had to reroute behind the top clamp was for the clutch, all others wiring looms and lines were long enough. I held the line with small vise grips to get it at the right position to start the banjo bolt. Be careful,as you can easily cross-thread it, then bleed the line. If you know of someone with an `01 Sport with the clip-ons below the top clamp go have a sit on that or better yet take it for a ride because with the limit you can raise the bars on your Lemans it will work out to be about the same position. That`s what I found with my `02 Lemans as compared to my buddies `01 Sport. I guess it all depends on how tall you are and the length of your arms as to what will be comfortable for you. For me it was just not the right position for my back so as much as I love the looks of that fairing I removed it and installed regular bars on Tag risers and am quite happy with the result. Good luck.
  7. Hi G, Lubricate all the linkages conecting the throttle bodies with some good penetrating fluid and you should be good to go. Unlike the throttle these are more exposed to the elements and require attention from time to time. Good luck. Ciao

    Corbin Saddle?

quote=geno929,Apr 4 2006, 09:22 PM] I have a 2000 V11 Sport, stock and an experienced rider at the helm. I placed an order for the Corbin Gunfighter saddle yesterday. Plain black with no piping. Any opinions? I'm sure it will take a bit to breakin, Corbins always do. But what about fit and look? 84983[/snapback] You should have posted a request for one. I could have made you a good deal.$175.00 attachmentid=4889][
  9. Found a nice headlight that will work but still looking for the mounts. Are you out there?
  10. Sorry , but I`m keeping all parts removed, as you know this bike is worth more in stock form so if I`m not happy with the changes I`ll trade it in on another model (Moto Guzzi of course).
  11. That`s it, I`ve had it, I`ve tried all different combinations of risers, clip-ons and handlebars on my`02 Lemans. Nothing seems to bring back the bars to a comfortable spot (for me)and still clear the fairing. So........off it comes. I`ve got a R/90 lookalike quarter fairing up in the attic that will do nicely. What I`m looking for is a headlight and mount to fit this bike. I can make a bracket and bolt up any bucket up but I would rather this be a bolt on so I`m posting here looking for parts or leads to those parts. I`ve sent a note to Reboot Spares and am waiting for a reply. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.
  12. Hi All, Picked up a top clamp , drilled holes and installed bar clamps. Removing original top clamp and stopped. Is there a trick to getting that center cover over the hex nut off? Does it just pop off or screw off? Thanks in advance
  13. Dennis Kirk Metric catalouge 2005 pg #437 Round bolt on caps for Ducati and MotoGuzzi different colours, different part numbers $23.99 each
  14. Dennis Kirk will have the reservoir caps in different colours, and reasonably priced also.
  15. Sell me the seat cowl and slip ons from the `03 for a very low price and then ask lots for the rest. Good luck , tough choice.
  16. Thanks, I`ll give it a try.
  17. OK I think I got it this time.
  18. Sorry , I`ll try again. I can go to picture file and resize but I can`t seem to do it from this site. Help!

    Fairing???

Hi All, Sorry for the previous mis-post. I know this may not be the correct place to post this question but your a clever bunch and I figured you could solve this riddle. I recently purchased a `78 Ducati Darmah in need of some TLC. It came with a fairng which I have not seen before and I am looking to glean some more info about it from the Guzzisti crowd. It resembles the German Pichler fairing but I was told by the previous owner that it is one of 32 made by a fellow by the name of Kenny King. It comes with mounts for the Darmah, removable lowers and Shoei bags. Any more info on this would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to include a picture with this post but I have been having problems downsizing the pics. Ciao

    Tenni equipment

Hi Van, Thanks for the tip. I`ll get on the horn to MGNA and see about that certificate. Winter`s on it`s way. Was out on Nov.11 and that was the last nice day but I`m hoping for at least one more so I haven`t put it up just yet. Ciao for now

    Tenni equipment

Thanks Giovanni , I Know about the downloads but I prefer to have the original manual. It`s just so much easier than looking it up on the computer and then printing it out. I have to ask Van about his "certificate of ownership", since we both bought our bikes from the same dealer. I`m wondering if he got one because I didn`t. Ciao for now, Rocketeer ps: Just bought a `78 Ducati Darmah today. A restoration project .
