  1. I was tired of being beaten up by overdamped and undersprung 40mm forks. Also the brake-dive was terrible. Here is what I did: 1.05 Kg/mm springs (my weight with gear = 90 Kg / 200 lbs) 137mm spacers (which provide 10mm preload) 5 weight suspension fluid What an amazing difference! I had a short ride this afternoon and the forks are much more compliant and comfortable -- I can now tackle bumpy corners with ease. I have both the compression and rebound set to 0 clicks. The compression feels about right, but the rebound damping will need to be increased. Sorting out the suspension (front and rear) has been the best money spent for this bike.
  2. I rode my pushbike... does that count? Bill - WOW, nice garage!
  3. Yes. Written by the same character who translated instruction sheets during the 60s and 70s.
  4. Resistance is futile. You will be cartridged.
  5. This procedure is unlikely to get all of the old oil out of the cartridges. Even if it did, the cartridges would need to be bled when the fork legs are refilled. Furthermore, how would one know how much oil to put in? I know it's a pain, but there is no substitute for disassembly.
  6. Mike - how does the Jackal steering head angle compare to that of a LM1 or similar Tonti?
  7. I would buy a new modernized V7 Sport in a flash. Just give me the slim looks of the original, with the same 1000 Sport wheels and brakes, round barrels and dual-plug heads for efficiency. I like the V11 Sport, but it is similar in name only. Geez, I'm probably going to have to make my own... any donor Tontis kicking around the PNW looking for a new home?
  8. Guzzirider - nice avatar. All of a sudden I'm in the Christmas spirit.
  9. Why are the Ti and LeMans temp trim maps different? Is it an error from Marelli?
  10. IMHO you get what you pay for. Don't forget to consider the sampling rate of the sensor controller. FJO has a rate of 200/second. I browsed several car forums while making my choice - the FJO is considered expensive, but gets top marks for response time and accuracy. Innovate, FJO and TechEdge are near the top of most lists. My other choice would have been Innovate LM-1, but I decided to buy Canadian (I get so few opportunities.)
  11. FJO Racing dual-channel WB02 http://www.fjoracing.com/products/WBAFR/# Complete dual-channel system comes to $664.75 USD (that includes 2 sensors and the gauge). Only problem is that there is no internal logging. Heavy-duty connectors, and built like a tank. They will have a plug-in datalogger available soon.
  12. Gthyni - do you have an update on this project? Does anyone know this GBR exhaust? http://www.bikersandmore.de/gpr-deutschlan...moto_guzzi.html another photo on this current ebay auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
  13. I really like the idea. Is there any chance that the VW sender nut is the same size/pitch as the Guzzi cable nut?
  14. Andre - one last question - where is the exhaust system from?
  15. Oh man, if that's the case then I REALLY don't want one.
  16. O2 voltage? Do our North American market W15Ms have an input to read an O2 signal? Can you get a datalog from the ECU using your Tuneboy cable (hooked up to a laptop)?
  17. Andre - thanks for sharing your bike photo. It is one of the most tastefully-done specials I have seen. Where is the tank from?
  18. The Norge looks like the offspring of a Breva and FJR1300. Guzzi could have done a lot better in the styling (and naming) department. Very disappointing.
  19. Update: 1. I have had very little interest (only four expressions of interest, including me). 2. I need to find a source for 16mm banjo bolts & washers - does anyone know where I can get them easily (and relatively cheaply)?
  20. Mike - how do your forks compare now that you have re-sprung and changed to 7 weight fluid?
  21. I want to know so that I can get some WB02 sensor fittings made from the same material (or at least very similar).
  22. Does anyone know what grade of stainless steel that the exhaust headers are made of?
  23. Yes, I couldn't resist.
