  1. Consistency wins world championships, Getting good results at every round and not neccesarily winning, if everyone else is binning it and your there picking up points you deserve it . Eddie Lawson is a good example. doing just enough to stay ahead of the pack (I think he won a championship only winning 1 or 2 races, Maybe it was none, cant remember). Gary
  2. With Valentino qualifying last and maybe not even racing today after his tumble on thursday, It looks like we will be hearing the stars and stripes at race end. I think Edwards and Hayden will be fighting for the top spot with hopkins on the podium as well. Should be quite a race Gary
  3. Try the rossopuro site, they have a polished ergal cover for 62 euros. Gary
  4. Hi Yes it was a good rally, weather was good on the way down and apart from a small deluge late afternoon on the run out it stayed fine, it was good to see the people who post on here and even met a couple of lurkers, I liked seeing the v11s and the mods people had made(BFG,s quat d system looks and sounds great).I left the site at 10am on the sunday, got to larne and got on an earlier troon ferry (it left 5 minutes after i boarded) arriving home at 11pm. Bummer being back at work, Will post some photos when i get home if the camera has dried out by then. 1270 faultless miles covered , oh and the back tyres shagged. Gary Note to self - keep camera / mobile phone in a waterproof pocket/case
  5. Where have i heard that before
  6. Hope so, am leaving the waterproofs behind, ordered a ventura bag but it hasnt arrived yet so everything has to go into the tankbag (apart from the tent and sleeping bag, looking forward to it although the wife still reckons i will get lost. Gary

  12. It could easy have been, these grisos are everywhere (apart from canada) i have seen 2 of them on the road up here, thats 2 more than any other guzzi in the last couple of years
  13. Hi George Welcome to the forum, I have no idea what a 1000 mile service is but i was £160 for a 6000 mile service, and what a difference that made, my stuff mists up as well but i choose to ignore it as its probably weather related up here, my bike before this was also a honda (vfr750) and i have a cb750 in the garage but guzzis are way better (hondas are sterile in comparison). Someone will be along shortly to give you a decent reply on your queries, meanwhile enjoy the ride. Gary
  14. How good are the ferry operators at tying the bike down, should i take anything (rags to protect paintwork etc). i have used ferrys before but that was a while ago and the bike was on a centrestand. gary
  15. If my wife knew what i spent on the bike, me and the bike would be homeless.

There is still accomodation to be had for the erin rally, go onto the mgoc website for the phone nos. and book from there. Go on Guzzbunn you know it makes sense. He will be the best bike there. Gary
  17. My bike came fitted with a ventura rack, the racks may be different for each bike but are the bags all the same fitting size i.e. buy a bag and it fits any rack. Gary
  18. I agree, great pictures but the road surfaces look a little iffy. I was at the mg camping weekend on the isle of skye the weekend before and the road from invermoriston (loch ness) to kyle of lochalsh was brilliant, good wide roads and sweeping bends relatively empty (not alot of tourists yet). Its good to see EU money being spent on road improvements. Gary
