Whatever happened to Northern CA Guzzi Folks?
callison replied to al_roethlisberger's topic in Meetings, Clubs & Events
The roads in California are way more fun than here in Oklahoma. But I can afford to live on retirement pay in Oklahoma and not in California or I'd still be there and definitely up for a couple of rides. Meanwhile, it's just too hot for much of anything so the bikes have been sitting for months. Except for the silly Ural, in the morning I drive it to the store to buy a paper. -
Just bought a little Italian Jewel...In need of a polish ;0)

Very nice. Now check out the rocker arm oiling system... -

That sort of depends upon which model of Guzzi you have.

Did the stock ECU map change between the 01 shortframe and the 02'

Have you tried the bike without the PCIII? -
Certainly not a classic in the classic sense, but MGNA popped off 30 specials - 15 each of the V11 Sport TT and V11 Sport CF. That's fairly exclusive even if it's not particularly noteworthy. Frankensport was a V11 Sport TT but after the accident and rebuild it has a 1996 Sport frame so although it sports the bodywork, it's not really the same bike.

Should we try to send a get well card to your downed rider?

Some of the newer Guzzis eschew the alternator light in favor of separate left and right turn signal indicators.

MCN Roadtests - August 14 1996 Guzzi Outguns Duke In Battle Of The Twins Fuel injection helps 1100 Sport shoot ahead of 900SS in the fight for Italian supremacy MOTO GUZZI'S new fuel-injected version of its 1100 Sport is pitched directly against its main rival, the modern classic Ducati 900SS. The Guzzi costs £1100 more than the Ducati but justifies it with superb performance. And it fulfills factory hopes by being the better bike overall. BY KEVIN ASH PICTURES BY JOHN NOBLE Well... There you have it!

That's interesting, I'll bet it was originally called "gaffer" tape for the guys in the movie industry (gaffers) that use it. Same with "duck tape" - it was duct tape used by the guys installing heating/air conditioning venting that used it to seal seams. That's probably why the most common color is silver. For where I used to work, it was called "explosive" tape - we used copious amounts of it to hold together virtually everything associatied with explosive experiments. Strong, lightweight, inexpensive and expendable and always black. We even had a guy repair his really torn up truck seat with the stuff. It took 2 rolls of tape. Then the sun came out... what a mess!

Any time you want to come up to the middle of the USA, let me know. We'll make our own ride. If I get down your way, I'll certainly try to do the same. -
A backed out clutch plate bolt will feel like a seized engine. If it will turn a bit in gear going backward, that would be a pretty good indication for that problem.
