  2. 2003 Moto Guzzi LeMans, 12,250 miles, many extras -- Power Commander, dyno tested and throttle bodies synched and balanced by DynoSolutions in Connecticut, Mistral pipes, Fast by Ferraci crossover, custom Rick Mayer touring seat, Moto Guzzi tank bag, MRA touring windscreen, custom bar risers, Throttlemeister, Ducati lower pegs, rear tire with about 200 miles, Buell longer mirrors and turn signals, Powerlet BMW outlet, shock protection plate, Hepco-Becker Junior 40 liter side bags and tail trunk, rack and side mounts, custom painted valve covers, all synthetic oil since break-in, serviced by (the late, great) Marsh Moto Guzzi. Excellent condition, no damage. I have six bikes (four Guzzi's). Wife says it's time to be "prudent." Located in southern California. $5500 firm. Send PM. I have pictures, just say the word. I'll deliver anywhere in SoCal.
  3. I turn the ignition key, and get nothing -- no instrument lights, no headlight, no power to starter. Battery is fully charged. Where to look? No clue. I haven't ridden for a while. Thanks, Brian
  4. The alternator cover of my 2003 LeMans is bubbling up from under the silver paint and is rather ugly looking. Is there a replacement available (chrome, unpainted aluminum, carbon fiber). Anyone have a part number? Thanks, Brian
  5. I managed to misplace several of the thin washers that slip onto the M6 bolts holding on the oil pan ('03 LeMans V11). Can I do without them? If not, where can I get them? And what is the torque setting for the bolts? Thanks, Brian
  6. Thanks for all your responses. The bolt came from the oil pump. Snugged it right back. Brian
  7. I dropped the oil pan on my 2003 LeMans (for the first time, ever) and discovered a loose socket bolt and washer sunk at the bottom of the pan. I believe it's an M4 x 25, same diameter as the oil pan bolts, but a little longer, definitely not one of them. Any notion where it might have come from? I'm sure I didn't drop it in there... Thanks and happy New Year, Brian
  8. I took this crossover off my '03 LeMans with about 8,000 miles, replaced with FBF. Excellent condition. Reasonable offer, plus shipping. Brian
  9. I have the stock crossover pipe from my 2003 LeMans (I replaced it with a FBF unit). It's in perfectly good shape (with about 8,000 miles). Make reasonable offers to my e-mail address: bridge_press@yahoo.com Thanks, Brian
  10. I just had Rick Mayer manufacture a seat for my 2003 MG LeMans. I'm very pleased with his work. My butt feels "planted" and I can ride all day. Here's a not so great picture with the seat. Brian
  11. 2003 MG LeMans in the Gaspe Peninsula, Quebec, July 2006
  12. I'm planning a 2,500 mile trip in a couple weeks, up to the Gaspe Peninsula (and back), and I'm not likely to be in proximity of mechanical help. I'd like to prepare for what might go wrong mechanically, so what should I bring? I have not done the shifter pawl spring--is this a potential problem with the 2003 (7,000 miles on the clock)? Should I do it now? What else should I prepare for? I just did valves, motor oil, throttle balance, transmission and final drive oils, etc. Thanks, Brian

    Tank Bag

I have a Shook Speed Pack (http://www.aerostich.com/product.php?productid=16187), a hard shell tank bag. Its curves nicely match the lines of the bike. Foam pads keep the bag off the surface of the tank. I have it mounted so that it opens towards me. Brian
  14. I've got a set of Hepco & Becker Junior 30 liter hard bags in good condition and would like to trade for a set of H & P Junior 40 liter bags. The smaller bags keep the bike overall a bit slimmer, perfect for the city and commuting (but I live in the country and prefer to tour, and need the extgra storage capacity). I'll throw in $50 with the trade. Here's a link to this product: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/632/ Please let me know if you're interested. (802) 722-4029 in Vermont. Thanks, Brian
  15. Yosi, I sold my R1150R last summer after falling in love with a V11 LeMans. While I haven't yet done a long distance on the Guzzi, I do plan to this summer, and have adapted the LeMans to touring distances with a higher windshield, bar-risers (not cheap), lower rubber pegs, Buell mirrors, hard bags and top case (Hepco & Becker), and a rebuit seat. I haven't been troubled by vibration issues. I've been very happy with the bike so far. It is exciting in a way I found lacking in BMW's (I've owned seven). Brian
  16. I purchased these front and rear stands for my 2003 LeMans. Before I drop my bike trying, I'd like to know the best way to put it up on the stands. Does the bike accept swingarm spools? Anyone have a similar set and might send me a photo on the stands? Thanks, and Happy New Year, Brian

    Handle Bars

Mine should arrive any day, being a little further north. I'd love to hear about your installation procedure before I start mine, as I usually do things a few different wrong ways first, and you've got a head start.
  18. The high beam indicator light on my 2003 LeMans is out, and I'd like to have it back. So far I took off the funny shaped cover that surrounds the indicator light group, next the small bolts that hold the entire instrument panel in place...what next? Don't want to take it further than necessary...
  19. I bought a LeMans at the end of this summer, ending, maybe forever, my habit for newer BMW's, and I haven't looked back...I hadn't even ridden one when I first became obsessed with owning one--it was on looks alone--but I've been more than happy owning one. You won't be disappointed. I wish I could help but I live in diagonally opposite corner of the US.
  20. I'd love to support them, but I can't seem to get to their website and haven't been able to for a while...what's the secret?
  21. 1. Would you please tell me the part number of the K & N air filter to fit a 2003 LeMans? And if you're on the topic let me know if you consider it a worthwhile addition for minor performance gains (a friend thinks the K & N actually flows less air than stock). My air box has been drilled. 2. I heard that some LeMans owners replaced the stock mirrors with Buell mirrors for better visibility. Any idea which model Buell mirrors work? Do they fit the existing mounting holes? 3. Finally, if anyone has a ballpark idea of the dollar value of a stock LeMans windscreen in fine shape please let me know. I have one to sell. Replaced with MRA. Brian PS I've owned my LeMans all of one month now, and it is the most fun I've ever had on two wheels.
  22. Thanks all for your replies. I've put a few more miles on and am happier than I've ever been on a motorcycle (I've owned seven Beemers and assorted Japanese bikes). This bike is the best. Here's how I see the ergo issue. When my butt is against the bum stop, feet planted on the pegs, I feel like I'm reaching for the bars. It's a stretch. I've been thinking that even one inch higher bars would make enough difference to suit me right and balance my weight in all three places. I certainly don't want to alter the character of the bike, just modify slightly to fit. I have gotten a lot of great info from this forum already, and appreciate all you've shared. You folks are an intensely loyal group--and I thought the BMW riders were passionate. Thanks, Brian
  23. Took my 2003 LeMans on the road today, having received delivery from seller last week (who was kind enough to trailer it to Vermont from Kentucky). I love the bike. It sounds, feels, and handles like we've always known each other. Couple things--five minutes into the ride I was considering cancelling my order for bar-risers (placed with Jean-Marc, a rider who is manufacturing these). Every moment after five minutes I wished the risers were already here. Painful in the hands. I plan to install gel grips and use a Wrist-Rest, in addition to the risers. Hope it does the trick. To ease the hand pain I had to slide forward in the seat, making the pegs feel a little close, but I hope the seat/pegs ergos will improve with the risers. Second thing, the bike coughed and snorted a bit at very low throttle at 3,000 rpms or so. Is this normal EFI behavior, or something that can be adjusted? I'd love to hear back with any advice or thoughts. Thanks, Brian
  24. I am about to take delivery (and am pretty darn excited about it) of a 2003 Moto Guzzi LeMans. Having test-ridden it, I'm quite sure I will want to raise the bars (so far I'm looking favorably at ConvertiBars), lower the pegs (does anyone on the list offer the ready-made Buell peg conversion?), and pad the seat (Rich Maund?). If you have any of the above and are willing to sell, please contact me at bridge_press@yahoo.com. If you have any further suggestions for ergonomic products, I'd love to hear them. This is a great site--thanks for being a wonderful resource. Brian PS Let me know if you'd like to swap your Hepco & Becker 40 liter bags for the 30 liter bags on the bike (plus cash).
  25. I'm riding down through New England, central New York, central and western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, maybe Kentucky, maybe Maryland...any suggestions for Guzzi dealers I might drop in on along the way? Thanks, Brian
