  1. cool bike. The matte paint really suits it. A kind of a Hiboy on two wheels. But the foam pad: how did you get it off, isnt it glued to the tank?
  2. what intentions do the Scuristis really have, I wonder? Meanwhile: dont EVER pick up the soap...

    Classic BEARS

Hoffmann is used by several members of the Guzzi-klan in Norway, with good results. There is a couple of the Roadsters here, and pepole use him for rebuilds and servicing and testing and as far as I know he does everything to great satisfaction. So his kit-bikes is just one of his lines of business. The Roadster is dead cool though...
  4. except for the ATVs, that is. my brothers son has got one...
  5. can you make a clone out of him, box him and ship him over here? and make sure he axxepts Amex
  6. Also the fact that they are supplying each new Coppa Italia with the Ti kit, so that it will ballistically travel into the horizon and finally hit a tree.... EDIT: but basically, what this means is that our beloved bikes has now entered the world of the CLASSICS, which means that parts must be sourced elsewhere than the factory, and honestly: that can only be a good thing. looking forward to efficient shipping and professional customer treatment.
  7. hmmm.... you're probably right...

  9. now, I am excited. Chicks aside. Anyone noticed that piaggio has wheeled out the Laverda 1000 prototype once again? Its utterly gorgeous. Now, whats up with that, they officially announced it as dead a couple of years ago??

    ooops...

Even though I have been pestering the scura-gang and posting here and there the last five-six weeks, its maybe polite to introduce myself? I have already uncovered my bottomless technical inabilities, but apart from that: 38 yrs old designer from oslo - norway (rougher round the edges than most designers?). been a complete petrolhead all my life, but untill recently its been mostly cars. in my garage beside the bikes there is a 1990 Audi Quattro 20V (urQuattro) in mint condition, which I must say is my true love....sorry, guys.... Started my bike-career only four years ago, when I suddenly found money in my wallet and bought a brand new BMW R1150R in hornet livery. I loved that bike, impeccable german engineering, but a bit uncarismatic. Also f... expensive in parts and difficult to personalize. Then my wife got the license for bikes and found the Laverda which she gotta have, 'cause it was red and noisy. Its also a marvellously well handling bike with huge chunks of charisma (and a lot of bike for the money). The beemer looked tame alongside the Laverda, so I had to have something a bit harder (wife with a cooler bike than you? NO!). Harley was out of the question, and japs dont make things like that (maybe except the Yam MT-01), and Ducatis are to small for me. I have always admired the V11, so I tested one very rough bike but loved it nonetheless, and suddenly i found one in green, untouched and stored for two years, with 7000 kms on the clock and some carbon pieces and bags and stuff on it. so i bought it unseen over the phone in august... Since then its been all fun and games... EDIT: oh forgot, I paid extra for some bubbling paint and sunburnt porkchops. worth it!
  11. I might be able to bring you a picture of Guzzis wind tunnel, but I fear I'll be banned from the forum if I do. Everybody is, theoretically, a wind tunnel
  12. Mine was awful. But I didnt realize it before I got the Ti's. Before it was all stock except for a Mistral crossover. Dont think the crossover did the bike any favours without changing ECU settings, because it was very racy. No torque before 4000 and the ketchup-effect when everything became available at 5000. I also had misses at 2800-3000 rpms, bad idling, and a verrrry flat spot between 3000-4200 rpms. I changed from the crossover (which is now for sale!) to stock expansion box together with the Ti's because my dealer adviced that this would give me much more torque low down (this is dyno-tested in Germany by HTMoto). And it did, – boy it did! I honestly didnt think the change would be so pronounced. But its a different bike. And that is before K&N filter and throttle synchro and all that minor fiddling about. The bad idling isnt gone, though...

    breva carbon parts?

www.corsaitaliana.com they have some, I think
  14. Friday. One of the best days to break into the Scura hut. This time I brought my own beer. voofvoof... The Sunday project is to put on the rear fender eliminiator as shown on the red corsaitaliana.com project bike. Creating a pert little rump to show to the Scura-dudes... (ok, I admit it, originally I was looking for a Scura or Cafe sport, but there are none in Norway..)
  15. Doubt it. Look what happened to Laverda. After Laverda broke its neck and was bought by Aprilia, the spares stock was sold complete to another italian company (3cmoto.it), and now spares availability for the Zane Laverdas, which died in 2000, is WAY BETTER than Moto Guzzis. I think this is the way they do it. Italians like their classics, not much is wasted. No sweat, enjoy your beer...and all that....
  16. If the same problem was fixed by the aftermarket chip on the old Sport, it should do the trick on this one too I'd guss. The "brain" is the same, I understand. I recently installed the Titanium exhaust and chip on my bike, and the bike is COMPETELY changed. All flat spots and misses are gone, and the bike goes like Moonraker. Its expensive, but worth it.
  17. Thank you, mister gthyni. I appreciate your concern about our dear, expensive countrys name unusual for swede, that...
  18. The heart of darkness has always had a strange affection to me and my Green Meanie. But really, greenies just come into this shack for scantily clad women and free beer, but I realize now that the Sucra-gang hasnt got any...poor sods...
  19. Caught up with tankslapper one day, chased'im an' punched'im an' bit him in his fat tankslapping hand... To be serious, I find the damper unnecessary, and troublesome in citytraffic. When I bought the bike the steering damper was cranked all the way up, and so was the damping: rock hard. Eased up on all settings, and things got much more relaxed. Now I run minimum settings. If I ever find a stretch long and deserted enough to really push the limits, I figure it will be smart to add some clicks to the st.damper, but I think it destroys the bikes agility.
  20. whats the address for the PVM site?
  21. The Norwegian Guzzi Clubs summer/spring meet will be held at 2nd - 4th of June outside of Trondheim in the middle of Norway. Especially for Engländer this is a nice opportunity: take the ferry from Newcastle to Bergen (24 hours), get sloshed on the boat, and experience some of the most breathtaking roads and nature (yes, really!) in Norway up to Trondheim. Likewise: people coming up from Europe may take a ferry from Hanstholm in Denmark to Bergen. Or the usual route via Oslo, but then I suggest to drive via Røros (world heritage site). The Meet has a friendly and intimate atmosphere in simple surroundings with 70 or so attendants. Most of them completely brainwashed Guzzisti and Laverdisti, but everyone is welcome. A convenient stop on the way to Nordkapp, goffredo? EDIT: theres also an Autumn Meet in the middle of august. Check www.motoguzzi.no or ask me.
  22. You might want to combine some of your factors: rearwards weight bias of the policeman? But, I havent changed rear pads on any of my bikes yet, have been brought up to only brake with rear brake when stopping/holding the bike at junctions/redlights (probably not quite right, that). Another thing, which sounds a bit newbie-ish (no insult to you, mistah policeman sah ), is that a lot of people have a tendency to unintentionally let the foot relax and feather the rear brake in flight (while sleeping on motorway passes?). My wife does it all the time. Her rear pads shows considerable wear in short time.
  23. according to another thread, thats just possible: rumours of a new LeMans from guzzisti.it
  24. Me think it looks good. But it seems to me that the lower part of the fairing might be designed as aftermarket add-on parts. Take those parts off and this bike doesnt look half bad. A LOT better than the fugly new Beemers at least.
  25. I thought the lights was always out for the blackened Scura boys...
