  1. I crashed out my red and grey 2002 Lemans last month (stupid cagers!) so I'm looking for front fairing clip or Scura fairing for a replacement. In need of paint is OK. I missed an opportunity on E-bay. (Rats) Mountainrider Asheville NC 828-275-0603
  2. Talking about open invitations: June 6 through the 10th is the national BMW Riders Association Rally. This will be held at the Biltmore House Grounds! No time in history has any function included camping on the grounds with unlimited access to the house. I invite all my Guzzi bretheren to attend.I'll be working security Friday and Saturday,so I'll keep special eye out for you guys. Of course all brands of two wheels are welcome. This should be a real bash!Shuttles to the winery and House.Bands on Thursday,Friday and Saturday. More information @ BMWRA.org I hope you don't mind me plugging for this great event.I own Guzzis and Beemers,so I attend all kinds of rallies. See Ya There
  3. No,we can usually just roll down the hill
  4. generally what I like to do is take some sage and smudge around the offending motorcycle, then say a few words of wisdiom in a native tongue(this is entirely up to area and ethnical diverse area) get on my knees and face east as clenching a chicken in my teeth and then lighting some candles as I smear olive oil all over my naked body.As I chant to the ancient ones,I try to start the sacraficial goose as I drop the axe on the goat. Basic Italian electronics. It may not be the relays themselves but the holder they mate into.Check for good connections.I had trouble for a long time until it finally hit me that I needed to check the female adapters to the relays.Sure enough, bad connection.Runs every time now after a simple fix.

    HELP !

I had a similar problem with my 2002 lemans.Through all the great help from this board I replace relays, until I was sick of it,nothing seemed to help.Sometimes it wouldn't start,at other times it would stall and die. After repeated trips to the dealer, the local bike shop,a couple of shade tree mechanics,it was close to being up for sale. Finally, out of frustration, I started yanking out the relay board and wiring.Voilas,I realized it was the relay holder not allowing contact. Each time I would push down the relay,it would push down the female adapter in the relay block. I removed thje offending wires from the relay block, and mounted the terminals directly to the relay. Not one time have I have an incidance since. My suspicion is that at times, the relay block is at fault, and not the relay itself. That,at least has been my experiance.Got to love those Italians for their inadiquate wiring. Check the block for contact,it may be the offender. On another note.Check the charging system fuse.If you have heated grips and a location for a heated vest, like I have, don't run both at the same time. You may not blow a fuse, but the holder for the fuse is at it's limit for amperage served. My terminal block is slowly showing signs of arcing and possible failure. 6. I second that notion.CRG will fit great, look for Ducati 916 and 900 SS about half of what Guzzi will charge, and better too.All the lever and brake componanta are cheaper though Ducati, and usually on the shelf.
  7. Wow such great bikes in this crowd! Congradulations on ANY finish at Daytona. What an accomplishment. Here's my Sport Tourer. She's set up for the long haul. OOPS I goofed on those pictures.Let me try again.
  8. Unfortunately, the only dealer in the area quit because of the poor parts and other issues with Moto Guzzi. The only near dealership is in Charlotte.
  9. I'm very fortunate to live just 45 minutes away from the Dragon. Lots of hipe, but still a very good road to ride. I tend to stay away from there during the weekends, and ride it in the middle of the week, there are just too many squids for my taste. All the roads in this part are really good roads, come up and for a couple of days and explore everywhere, you won't be dissapointed.
  10. I'm hate to do it,but decided to sell my red and grey Lemans with 19,500 miles. This great bike comes with Stucchi crossover,Mistral carbon fiber pipes,Power commander,Raised handle bars by LSL,Throttlemeister,MSL taller windscreen,Custom frenched tail light section and license plate holder,Hepco Becker hard bags and top case,Rich Maund custom seat for two-up,Passenger foot rests custom made. This has been a great bike, and rode two up 3,000 miles on it last year. Some paint scratches from a tank bag and a chip out of the rear tail section, may be repaired by time of sale. Contact me for pictures. 7,000.00 Mountainrider in Asheville NC
  11. Yes, Try the Avons or metzlers you'll like them better.
  12. I can understand your feelings. I'm in the throws of sorting out an intermittant electrical problem, that has been lurking since new. I'm down to either the fuel pump or a little connector near the relay block. Does anyone know what this is?Does it have a fuse link of some sort or just a fuel pump connector? I've got 20,000 miles on my '02,but glad I'm I bought the 96 BMWRT,its been bone reliable,if lacking charisma. Does any one have a wiring schematic for these bikes?I'm really wanting to get this sorted out,I love the bike when it runs, but it's not reliable anymore.
  13. A couple of us Asheville riders might show.
  14. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Rich Maund two-up seat.It should be in the Guggenheim museum. My GF is 5'8 and she loves the riding position especially with a sheepskin. We went on a 2800 mile journey last year with camping gear and all.The most miles we did was two days of 500 milers.Tired, but not on the verge of suicide. I too have Mistral cans and made a bracket from SS muffler clamps and spacers to add the footrest from the stock cans to the Mistrals.Works great.
  15. I have the stucci crossover and Mistral carbon fiber round cans. Because i still wanted to carry a passenger,I made a small bracket out of a piece of aluminium. This lowered the pipes down just enuff to still have the passenger footpegs usable. I have the Hepco Becker bags on, and there is no interference for the passenger. I had to make footrests because the(now ex) GF fryed her boot on the metal part of the Mistral can. I took some ss pipe clamps and drilled them to accept 1/4" diameter bolts. Then made spacers out of some metal pipe.I used the existing footrest from the stock cans. When I get it all powder coated,it will look great. We went on a 2600 mile trip to the UP and back without nary a problem. I was abit suprised as to how loud the pipes are. I wear earplugs and it still rings my ears. I ordered a set of 1-3/4" baffle inserts with fiberglass from a catalogue(probably Parts Unlimited)from my local family run catch-all mc shop. Fit perfect and baffles only enough to wake half the dead.Just louder than stock and no performance differance.Plus you still lose all that pork in back for a better balanced machine.
