  1. As stock, the Lemans does tend to thrust my pelvis forward into the tank as well since the legs are back behind me. I have gone so far as put a towel at the front of the seat to raise it up and not cause this "sliding" forward. Without proper riding pants to buffer the crotch, it's just too uncomfortable. Getting the legs out in front more allows you to sit back more away from the tank. It equates to a more balanced body weight. This does seem to be the answer. Maybe a seat that doesn't slope forward would also help. How's the Rich Maund (sp?) seat for this? I like the look of the stock seat. Do his look much different?
  2. I understand Moto Int. has heavy bar end weights. Curious to the cost of these and if many recommend them on the Lemans. Seems my hands get the tinglees pretty badly. Thanks, -Kev
  3. I am interested for sure!!! Let us know please.
  4. Anyone get a lowering kit for the pegs on their V11? I see Moto International has the whole kit for $300. My legs are long and my knees get pretty cramped after some time. Just wondering if it's worth it to do?
  5. I just preordered...thanks for the heads up! After doing some research, these seem like very solid tires ... 'specially at this price!!
  6. Thanks guys. Sounds like it's a go in the near future. I'm just not a "rumble" kind of guy. Prefer a subtle more refined approach to the Guzzi. Don't care so much about HP either. A twist of the throttle can be fun on this thing!!
  7. Hey all, I am actually thinking of trying the stock pipe on our rather new Lemans. The original owner put the Mistrals on and the latest owner and myself don't know if the bike was re-mapped when that was done. When I bought the bike, I also got the original cans and am wondering if it's an easy off and on, or if I'm going to have to re-map back to original?? Will I lose HP/and how much? I really don't mind the Mistrals, but I'm just into more subtle sound. I have heard a Lemans with stock pipes and kinda like that subtle V8 sound. Thanks!
  8. Antonio, Where are your turn signals? Be careful when using hand signals. Ahhh, now I see they're on the mirror stalks. Had me scared for a minute. Nice looking bike!
  9. Thanks Keith for the response and info.. Will sort it out soon and pull it.
  10. Yep... got the $10 off cert from Summit and recieved the shockproof within a few days of ordering...nice!! I will order from them again for sure. Also, put the Redline in tonight and took for a ride (short). Seems good and the red is easy to spot in the fill window. Thanks all for the insight. -Kev
  11. I looked today and it was $9.99 for handling, but shipping was free! Oh BOY!! Do they not know that we are smarter than that. It's like a Guzzi watch I bought on EBAY for 2 cents from taiwan I think it was. The shipping was $15.00. I knew this going into the bid, so I figured the watch to be $15.00 with 2 pennies shipping. Still a good deal. It's a good looking watch and I've gotten more compliments on it...

    tank lingo

I found out in the "how to" section about tank remaoval, however, I don't know my lingo, so when they say "You simply have to unplug the electrical connector for the fuel pump and disconnect the quick-connects for the EFI loop" They've lost me. I have an '03 Lemans and I see on the right side up under the tank how things are connected, but not sure that is where I do any disconnects. There don't appear to be quick-connects but I don't know what a quick-connect looks like. I don't like pulling on things unless I know they're supposed to come apart Thanks for your help. Would love to get to the airbox! While I'm under there, is there anything I can do with connections (electrical) ? What do folks use on electrical connections?
  13. Thanks guys for all the info. I ordered 4 quarts which will get me through 3 changes for about $10 a pop with shipping at Summit. It will come to my doorstep soon! It does sound like good stuff for sure.
  14. OK...I think you guys convinced me about the Redline. Now... I have to order some up from the local auto store. Does "Shockproof " come in different weights? What weight is it? I just hate to tell the guy to order me up some to later find there are 5 different "shockproof" weights and I have the wrong one. Also... you all are putting the same in the rear as the gearbox? Thanks for the advice all, -Kev
  15. Thanks Richard, However, Redline shockproof doesn't answer my question. I don't want Redline, but would like to know what is meant by 90W. I have done the search and everything keeps coming up Redline. I have 90W gear oil, and am wondering if 80/90 is ok or if there is specifically a 90W only oil. Redline shockproof tells me nothing other than some are using it. I have heard of some using camel piss in their gas tanks because Guzzi will run on anything. I don't think I'll go there either.
  16. I JUST LOOKED AT THE MANUAL FOR THE LEMANS ('03) AND IT SIMPLY STATES agip 90w oil for gearbox. What exactly does this mean? I use both 85/140 and 80/90 in my Breva 750. Just wondering what others are using. Can I use an 80/90 or is there such a thing as simply 90W oil? I guess I'm just confused and need clarification on what they mean. Thanks
  17. How difficult to change the air filter? do you have to take the tank off, and if so, is this a pain? How often should I change the filter? Thanks, Kevin
  18. I'm going to do a valve adjustment on the Lemans and was wondering if I need to take off the fairing to get the valve covers off? It sure looks tight to get at the two rear bolts. Is this an easy job (taking off fairing)? Only looks to be held on by 4-6 screws. Thanks!
  19. That's what I just bought on Ebay! Was hoping it was the right one. Thanks for checking.
  20. Please tell me the manhole cover for filter removal is 27mm for the '03 Lemans. I presume it's the same as the 2000 Lemans...right? That's what I just bought. Have fingers crossed. Thanks!
  21. I was told I have about 2 gallons left after light comes on...about 80-90 miles for me. My trip knob is off also. Just got the bike. Must be common??? Would be nice to have.
  22. Character? I don't think so. Would be comparable to a one night stand that you regretted the next morning when you actually had to spend time with her. May be fun for a brief instance...but more expensive than she was!
  23. I'm looking for a SG rated oil, and I'm not thinking Truck and SUV stuff is SG rated. I could be wrong, but it is recommended (in Guzziology) that we use motorcycle SG rated oils. Mobile 1 has these available, and they rate VERY well. SJ rated oils reduce phosphorus to help catalytic converter lifespans, but phosphorus helps the cam and follower, so (as you can see) motorcycles get no benefits of the SJ and take a hit on wear instead. SG retains the phosphorus. 20W-50 is recaommended for the 1100i. What does the "i" stand for?
  24. Thought I'd get some feedback from the experts on Mobile 1 oil weight. Which is best for a Lemans 10-40 or 20-50?
