  1. My '03 Lemans has a red and white plastic elbow. Is the white an inlet? If so... for gas or air? I'm confused as to why no other bike seems to have both a red and white. Even Todd at MPH (Houston) hasn't heard of a second white elbow. My white is broken and will need to be fixed. I've seen one fix, but am thinking an actual brass elbow type fix. Most importantly, what the heck is the mysterious white elbow do (that I broke)? -Kevin

  3. OK... so it looks good! Just like having your pegs back further and your crotch forced into your seat. Some view upgrades differently. Thanks guys. -Kevin
  4. Thanks Paul.. now for the silver part. Is there a larger silver rim from a Guzzi that is the same size as a stock Lemans (rear)? Thanks, -Kevin
  5. Ok... who can give me the skinny on upgrading the "skinny" rear of the V11 sport (red-frame) with a V11 Lemans fat tire? Here's something else... the V11 sport has silver wheels, so what are folks doing to come up with the fatter rims in silver? It looks like the fat rims would fit the Sport, right? Thanks, -Kevin
  6. Thank you guys. I do have the Matra relays already and tried swapping them several times. I will try the 10amp fuse change even though it looks great. After this, I would suspect the pump is bad or something happened to the connection. Never had tank suck issues in 30K miles so that's no issue here. Another very strange occurance on this bike, as I just replaced the starter solenoid. Been perfect otherwise. Just wanted to rule out anything else maybe you knew about. Thanks again. -Kevin
  7. My '03 cut out the other week when sitting at a light in pretty hot weather. I rested in the shade awhile and it started up. As I took off down the road at 35 mph it once again cut out. From that point on I couldn't get the fuel pump to dance upon turning the key. I opened the tank twice, have never had vapor lock anyhow EVER, and no pressure. The fuses are all fine and the relays are new and are fine. They click when I turn the key on. Why is my pump not working? Any thoughts... burned out or would it not work due to pressure? When there is vapor-lock does the fuel pump still still fire up when turning the key on or does it shut off for safety reasons? Thanks, -Kevin

    mistrals

Wondering how much for a new set of oval aluminum Mistrals? I can't find them anywhere. Thanks, -Kevin
  9. Why is my TPS not registering anything...and it runs great. No hesitation ever anywhere! -Kev

    Bucking?

My buddy has an '02 V11 Lemans that he got last year. One issue it initially had was stalling occasionally upon stopping. He went through the bike this Winter and did a TPS check and found it was up at 350. He set it at 150 and overall the bike runs better. However, now it stumbles (Bucks) around 3000-4000 RPM, but runs smooth and hard above that. It also doesn't do it when cold. Yesterday we thought we'd experiment a little and take a TPS off my '03 Lemans which runs perfectly. We hooked up the wires and got nothing. We used two different volt meters and nothing coming off mine. He went home and tried his again and no problem getting a reading. What's up with that? Also...why would his be bucking after warm-up but running so smooth above 4000 RPM? He changed the intake boots, so they're new and snug. He changed to a K & N filter, but did take off the intake tubes to the filter box to breathe better. No apparent exhaust leaks. The original owner took off the breather tube to the carbs (I think that's what it's called?), but he has since reconnected a tube from one to the other, however, it's a little smaller than it should be. Would this make a difference? Now...his CPU is different than mine also. It says 2000 V11 sport and mine says 2002 V11 lemans and has different numbers. This shouldn't make a difference unless someone knows if there's an issue with this CPU.? We are just plain stumped and wanting to get this bike running smoothly throughout the rev range. It has very few miles on it and really does run smoothly for the most part. -Kev

    v11 windscreens

Get the MRA and be done with it. I have one and my buddy just got one as well. We love it! They're not expensive online. It looks like a stock screen on the bike but that lip does wonders. -Kev
  12. Trying to contact this cat 'cause my wife is interested in his bike for sale. Hey Rick! My window of opportunity may not be so big...so please respond.
  13. Anyone interested in selling their stock footpegs and mounting hardware? I know some of you have put aftermarket pegs on that don't require the stock pegs. My buddies bike came with no stock pegs and he'd really like them. Please let me know. -Kevin
  14. Dan, I'm in Grand Rapids, though grew up on the coast in Grand Haven. I'll tell you what you should do: Since you ride on Sundays up this way, you will HAVE to stop by a biker gathering every Sunday every week of the year at a coffee house in GR. It is not a HD biker thing, but rather an eclectic group of bikers, however, about every Guzzi person in town shows his face. Sometimes we have 6-8 Guzzi's. We call it "Bike Church" because it meets on Sundays, but has nothing to do with church...just an alternative to real church. We have two sides of the street full of every bike you can imagine. Some folks have $$$ so even new MG Agusta's rear their heads. If you're ever interested in meeting great folks and having a ball, as well as catching breakfast or just coffee, let me know. -Kevin
  15. Hey John, I am told every Guzzi has the same location and banjo bolt...so...I will proceed after picking up the bike in late May to check things over and get back with you. I also have the Lemans as you know, and will most likely have one for it as well. Yes...my friend who ordered one from you is Karl. He used just one screw in the instrument column to connect his gauge and it seems plenty tight. It's also nice to have it directly beneath the RPM gauge (on the right screw)since they're sort of related. If I were you John, I would introduce yourself over on the COG sight and offer your goodies. Like I said, the Centauro has build issues when it comes to an aluminum gear that runs the oil pump. Some are turning into metal shavings and it has people worried. There is some other issue as well with the pump. This would supply some peace of mind for sure. Just a suggestion, -Kevin
  16. Maybe I was wrong about the extra linkage on the Motobits, however, I guess it must be set up as stated. I have tried both and noticed a significant difference in sloppage on the Motobits. As for the foot forward aspect. The only real difference between the two is that your pelvis is in more of a state of lordosis (bucket tipping forward) on the motobits. With your feet more below you (neutral position) your pelvis is less thrust into the crotch where the tank and seat meet. You also have a little less weight on your palms the more your feet are under you as opposed to behind you. They are still slightly behind you with the Motobits. It's about the same on your palms as the Norge...your knees as well. The "scissors" aspect of your body position is about the same as the Norge as well (with bar risers on the Lemans). I think the Norge is a touring bike so if you don't like long miles of comfort don't get the Matra pegs.
  17. Hey John, Thanks for checking in Guzziology. Mine has been lent out. Anyhow....it is just a matter of finding a way into the engine that I'm interested in. I can mount no problem I'm sure. I can have something fabricated if need be. Here is the COG sight: http://www.centauro-owners.com/ I have a good source over on the sight as well, so I'll do my research. Thanks, -Kev
  18. I would go with the MATRA foot peg mod not the Moto BITS. My friend just swapped his Moto Bits for the MATRA because they A) weren't nearly forward enough in comparison Use an extra linkage in the shifter mechanism that adds more play and longer throw. In essence it adds a linkage to the exhisting linkage. I have both MPH risers and MATRA mod. and it's as comfortable as the NORGE now, but retains the Sport. Look under technical topics to read up on the MATRA footpeg mod. -Kev
  19. I was in the first batch of forward foot controls and would recommend to everyone. These have truly transformed the bike for me. I do have a question for John about the oil gauge. I just bought a Centauro and will be picking up in May. Do you know if your gauge will fit this bike? If so...I have a feeling many folks over on the COG sight might be interested since there is a slight issue with the gear self-destructing on the oil pump over time. It seems the oil pump issue is one of the main concerns, so would be nice to keep an eye on things. I don't have a Centauro to look at and only know you modeled your pegs after the Centauro controls, so it's my hoping you might have an answer. Thanks, -Kevin
  20. Thank you all. I did contact them. -Kevin

  23. SInce I can't yet post on the COG sight due to background check or something, I wanted to ask the question: Has anyone here ridden both a Lemans and a Centauro? They are both around the same HP, but I'm sure they behave differently. In what way? And...does it wind up quicker? WHy? I buying it because I've always wanted one and because it's unique. Selling my beauty of a Breva 750. Thanks, -Kevin
  24. I second the Motobits foot pegs. I had the risers at purchase. You can ride all day in comfort with both.
  25. They are not showing Rac...already sold? Let me know and my friend will work a deal with you if you still have them so you don't have to deal with Ebay. Thanks, -Kev
