  1. The Florida Guzzi Campout is this weekend at Scotts Ferry. it is just north of Port St Joe in the Panhandle. The weather is looking good for some nice riding. Details are at http://www.thisoldtractor.com/fl_mgnoc/calendar.html
  2. I got one a while back. The guy advertised being from Canada and had in his ad that they would modify the jacket as needed if it did not fit, I just had to cover the return shipping. I emailed him my measurements and when I got the jacket the fit was awful. I was then told to get it altered I had to send it to Pakistan not Canada. The cost of shipping was about 150 ! I did get it there by USPS Economy (which they do not offer any more) for 56 bucks. It took a few months. When I got it back again it still did not fit. So I have a jacket for wall art. They would not refund the cost because it is supposed to be a custom made jacket. It had a XXL tag inside though. Even if they did agree to refund you money, you have to pay the shipping back to Pakistan, so in the end you pay 200 for the jacket, 50 for shipping, 150 return shipping just to get 200 back. I did ask Fed Ex why it was 50 bucks from Pakistan to the US but 150 from the US to Pakistan. They could not answer the question. The jackets are not bad and look well made, their sizing just sucks.
  3. My dad was there on his old Eldo, he was camping up in the hills, so he was one of the few lucky ones. He just bought a Centauro from a member in Indiana, who also has a Tenni that he brought to the rally. He said the bike has just disappeared. He had some large hard bags on the back that he belived help float the bike away.
  4. We got the number from the dealer who has the bike. They got the number off the frame as they said they could not find a number on the motor ? I know on my Centauro & 1100 Sport they are clear as day. Being listed as a 2001, it probably is a 11 instead of a X1
  5. There is also a new dealer in Sarasota off of University & 301. He is a motorcycle dealer caring Victory, Polaris, Guzzi & Aprilia. I think they are new to Guzzi as the sales man thought my 74 Cali was a Cali Vintage ? Seem like good guys and want to sell guzzis, unlike the last local dealer who hated them As for the Honda Car- Guzzi Dealer, I don’t know how well that will work. A local BMW car dealer tried selling bikes for awhile and got out. The local Jeep dealer was selling Victories and finally spun off their own bike dealership picking up Triumph.
  6. There is a brand new dealer in Sarasota and a Honda Car dealer in Crystal River who is selling Guzzi's I might try to see if they can find something.
  7. A friend of mine is looking at a 2000 V11 Sport to buy. The current ownere does not know anything about the trans recalls, but he is not the orginal owner. Is there anyway to tell by looking at the bike if the recalls have been done. I read back in the stone age guzzi had a mass recall on the, then new 5spds in 1973 and that the repaired transmissions were stamped with a X near the timing mark hole on the bell housing. I doubt if the dealers did anything as simple as that on the new bikes.
  8. He likes Eldo's Also http://images.cyclegarden.com/cgi-bin/Imag...aff_n_Fun_Stuff For a long off road run like that, a orginal Quota 1000 would have been cool.
  9. Here is a site with a custom Norge, very nice http://www.adclassix.com/a3/54norgerefrigerator.htm
  10. One thing I forgot to add was my Cali is running the stock coils and the Millie is runing the Dyna's, but both bikes have the Dyna 3 system. the orginal owner of the Millie mounted the Dyna coils with a clamp around the plastic body, which is a issue as the metal mount tabs on the Dyna's also act as a heat sink, which from what I have read, they need. I am going to measure the resistance on the coils, and measure the voltage on the 2 wires from the black box to the - side of the coils. I am leaning towards the box failing
  11. Hi All, I know this does not pertain to the V11's but I am trying to help a friend debug a Milie GT with a Dyna ignition. The problem started with the bike losing spark on the left side. We swapped the left plug wire to the right coil and got spark. We thought maybe a bad coil. Later we lost spark on both sides. We are getting 12v to the + side on each coil with the ignition on, but we are also getting 12 on the - side of the coils. For comparison I checked the voltage on my Cal 2 with the Dyna. I have 12V on the + side and around 2v on the - side with the ignition on. I next took the white and black wire from the black box and grounded it to the frame, which should cause the plug to spark but got nothing on either side. Anyone have any ideas ? Maybe the black box is shot. When checking the coils with a Ohm meter do you just read across the + and - ?
  12. Hi All Does anyone know the torque specs to bolt the ring gear to the flywheel. I can find the flywheel specs but nothing for the ring gear. If it matters it is a 1100 sport. thanks
  13. We have built a diesel powered ambassador with a 1225 3cyl motor. We are currently running a convert rear end and like some taller gearing. A 11/32 vs a 9/34 rear end might be better. but if the pinion is to large, I guess we need to stick with what we have.
  14. Does anyone know if it possible to take the ring & pinion from a V11 Sport rear end and install it into a Tonti frame rear end box (t3-convert, etc..)
  15. I would give the guys at MG cycle a call, they carry the agostini rear sets, which should work, with maybe some minor mods. They are made of steel so they are easy to modify if you need to weld a extra bracket or something. I would say ones for a Lemans 1 should be close. They also carry some nice swan neck clipons in various fork sizes. http://www.mgcycle.com/foot.html#Ago http://www.mgcycle.com/bars.html#Clip
  16. Well I removed the clutch arm, plunger & bearing from the sport. It is almost impossible to do with the swing arm in place due to the dowel on the back of the plunger that goes into the clutch arm and you can not remove the screw adjuster because it hits the swing arm as you back it out. Makes me love my eldo even more when it comes to maintenance. Any how, the thrust bearing looked ok. I pulled out the push rod hat but could not get it back far enough to pull if off the rod. One thing I did notice when the rod hat was pulled out past the case was I was able to rotate the rode around in a circle about a 1/2 inch. There was allot of slop in it up and down, side to side. I don’t know if this is normal on the newer bikes, but I remember on my Eldo the clutch rod does not have hardly any movement once it is in the trans case. I guess my next option is to drop the motor and trans and check out things up front.
  17. I checked on the Cal 3 and it had 30 dellortos, so it would be a small valve, the same as the Cal 2. I have also been looking into change the cam as recommended. I think trying to use the Cal 1100 cyl & pistons is out due to the wrist pin location. thanks for the info
  18. I have the rest of the 1100 Cali Carb motor. It is locked up and have not looked inside to see what the issue is. I know the stroke on the Cali 1100 is diffrent from the 1000 motors, but would the cyl & pistons from the 1100 Cali work on a Cali 2 motor or would it be like the diffrence between the Eldo & Ambo where the bore is the same but the wrist pin location on the piston is diffrent as well as the crank. There is a set of Cali 3 cyls & pistons on Fle-Bay I will keep a eye on. This is going to be a low buck build up just for fun. I got the 1100 sport & centauro to really go fast on. thanks for the info guys.
  19. Hi All While I am trying to find time to dig into the clutch problems on my 1100 Sport, I have been thinking about another project I have been putting off. I have a 74 Eldo LAPD with a Cali 2 motor in it. It needs new gaskets from the Cyl base up and while I am in it, I was thinking about small ways to get a little more power out of it. I dont expect a road burner just a little more juice. I have a set of med valve heads and 36 dellortos from a Cali 1100 Carb, I was thinking about installing a hotter cam and using the med vale head and 36's. I was also thinking about decking the heads to get a little more compression. Has anyone tried this on a guzzi and if so how much can I go without having to worry about the push rod length and the valves hitting the piston ? thanks
  20. I figured on my father’s bike, with the mileage, the clutch plates are worn. He has the screw adjuster on the clutch arm turned in all the way, he has not owned the bike long, so the previous owner probably knew it needed a clutch and decided to adjust it to the max and un-load it. We got it cheep, so it is not to bad. On mine, I adjusted the cable at the trans and on the handle and it seemed to work now. I have a little play in the handle and the clutch feels fine. I am still going to pull out the plunger, spacers, and throw out bearing and try to see what it going on. I don’t think the clutch has separated as after I readjusted the clutch cable and took it for a quick ride around the block, the clutch fills ok and there were not any strange noises when I pulled the clutch in. If the clutch material had come loose, I should hear it knocking around when the clutch it pulled in, wouldn’t it ?
  21. Hi All My father has a 95 1100 Sport, which is having trouble disengaging the clutch. The adjuster on the arm is all the way in and there is no more adjustment on the cable. When you pull the clutch in 1st the bike tries to pull. The bike has apx 40,000 miles on it. Well today I was on my 95 sport with 14,000 miles and as I was down shifting coming off the interstate, I noticed it was hard to down shift and then realized I had quite a bit of cable play in the handle. I got to a stop light and adjusted the cable out. The adjuster was almost out to the last threads. I made it home and took a look under the bike at the clutch arm and with no tension on the cable the arm was just sitting off the flange where the arm hits the plunger. It is as if the clutch rod it not pushing out enough and something has collapsed. My first step is to pull the plunger and cage bearings to see what shape they are in. if the swing arm is not in the way, I am going to try and pull the clutch rod. Does anyone have any ideas on this ? thanks
  22. My brother has a Rosso Mandello and on his way to bike week threw on some chase harper bags, which rubbed through the paint on the tail section near the seat. Does anyone know a match to the flat gray used on these bikes ? thanks
  23. Does anyone have a spare rear end they would like to sell. I need a set of 11/32 gears for a guzzi project.
