  1. I'm making do with Maine for now quite well, thanks. Unfortunately, the Sea Dog as an independent brewery no longer exists. The A$$hole owner ran it into the ground. I left before the walls caved in. It is now owned by the Shipyard Brewing Company and all of the Sea Dog beer is made by them. We did some really great stuff over the years including the full spectrum of English ales and Continental lagers. I had more fun and worked harder at that brewery than anything else I've done in my life. There are still some great beers being made in Maine. Gotta organize a ride around Maine with stops for beer. Just got to figure out a way to do it safely. Don't get me going on drunks................
  2. Thanks for the firsthand report Buddy. I hope someone ends up keeping one of them, even if it isn't totally legal. That bike would become a real Legend. (Hmmm, didn't BMW already use that name)? One of these days I'm coming over to drink some real beer. Even though I've brewed upwards of 300,000 gallons myself as the brewmaster of a "local" here in the USA. We used a Peter Austin System and top fermented with Ringwood yeast. Damn, I'm gettin thirsty.....................
  3. Whatever happened to the BMWs that washed ashore in Devon after falling off the Napoli? After the initial headlines and film of local townfolk lugging off the spoils of shipwreck, the story dropped off the US radar screen. Just curious............................. Can't imagine a greater way to reply to the good old question......."Where did you get it?"
  4. Aw Noggie, you know "old" is only a state of mind. Now, if someone would just help me get up out of this chair, I'll show you what I mean.....................................
  5. A beauty, yes, but someone has done some serious photoshopping or airbrush work on that bod.
  6. I think the side mounted radiators look much better than a big, open transverse mounted version. Much cleaner. I've always liked the concept of a Harley powered sport bike. Not sure where this Rotax thing will lead. Could be very interesting. If HD had designed the engine it would really be something to behold.
  7. I don't know Ben. I've done alot of off roading and I can't imagine doing it on a tank like that. 14 Grand and you're going to take it out in the woods and flog it? In the course of one summer you'd spend enough on parts and repairs to buy a dedicated dirtbike. (If you live long enough to think about fixing it). But hey, to each his own! Rock on dude.
  8. Yes Sean, I was starting to think this had become the Goodyear Blimp thread.
  9. Naw, Most Americans hardly know Denmark even exists. Lots of stuff on the 'net if you just look. Minnesota is home to more than a few Danes. Some basic info on the language is here........HERE
  10. Folks in Denmark speak Danish. People in the Netherlands speak Dutch. Sleep it off and call me in the morning Ben! If you are looking to impress her with your knowledge of Dansk or Danish, tell her you had "rødgrød med fløde" for dessert tonight. Hint: "ø" means "Americans cannot make this sound".
  11. Unless I missed it, neither of these systems show mounts for a V11.
  12. Read all the previous posts before doing something dumb.
  13. I agree Dave, but the direct relationship between the headlight dimming and the engine going smooth was uncanny. Got to be related.
  14. In the year now that I've had my '01 V11 I've had intermittent episodes of rough running at "neutral" throttle. Accelerate and it pulls smoothly and no unusual popping or backfiring on deceleration. When maintaining speed though, the bike will lurch and jerk to the point of distraction. I most often ride during the day but last night I decided to go for a short blast up to town and back. Right away I realised the bike was in the lurch and jerk mode and as I contemplated the cause (TBs, temp sensor, cracks in intake boots?????) I also noticed my headlight was brighter than usual........ Huh? As I was trying to decide if I was imagining things the headlight snapped back to its usual whale oil lamp degree of illumination AND the engine immediately smoothed out. What is going on here? Could it be that the engine roughness is caused by higher than normal voltage from the regulator? Maybe the PCIII doesn't like high voltage? Since I've most often felt the rough running during the day I've had no way to relate it to an electrical issue. Maybe I should rig up a voltmeter to see whats going on in the electron department. ANy thoughts or comments? Tia, Dennis in Maine.
  15. KISS.............. keep it simple stupid. I'm voting for a bad connection.
  16. Maybe run nitrous to the alternator!
  17. Orson, a spectacular report. Something about Sardinia really grabbed me. I can only hope to see it myself one of these days. Thanks! (I think............)
  18. Makes 'ya wanna go piss in your shoe, doesn't it?
  19. This must be some secret Guzzi developement aimed at reducing their contribution to increased carbon in the atmosphere. This V11 goes 300+ miles before the low fuel warning light comes on! (And then you still have 50 miles worth of fuel remaining)! You could own it NOW for $9000............................ Yeah, sure.
  20. Those are some really nice kegs Sean. If we'd had those in my old Brewery I'd still be there!
