  1. Has anyone come up with any info regarding fixing these odometers? Mine starting acting up today with only 8900 miles on the clock. Under 60 mph it owuld run slow and above that it would not turnover. Will the speedo cable have anything to do with it? Dave
  2. Is the liner on the REAL Guzzi jacket a vest or are the sleeves lined as well? Also, are the seams double stitched? My Joe Rocket boots were "Designed" in Italy and made in Romania. They were pretty good boots and protected me in a crash.
  3. I think I'll pass despite the fact that I think its sharp looking. Shipping is pricey and I believe there is a customs charge as well. I can get just as good a jacket from NewEnough.com for about the same or a little more. Lately I have been looking at the Furygan stuff. There's some that I like but I'm afraid to ask how much. Thanks. Dave
  4. Try this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MENS-RACING...1QQcmdZViewItem
  5. Anyone here own one of these jackets I see advertised on eBay? Just wondering what the quality is, double/triple stitched seams, etc? How good are the CE protectors? The quilted liner, vest or full w/sleeves? Any insight would be helpfull. Thanks. Dave
  6. RacerX, any chance of a high pipe on the stock side so you are able to see both the beautiful swingarm and the wheel? If the 8V is available in the spring, that's fine by me. Let the bugs get worked out before it hits our shores. Besides, it will give me time to save my money.
  7. If the specs ring true and it is coming to the US I will be very interested in getting one. Maybe even sell the Ballabio. I hope they offer it in Europe first and then the following year inthe States. That way they can work out the bugs and niggles of the new motor. I love the current 100 Griso but if the new 8V is more powerewul and sportier then I will get in line for one. I'm glad they decided on a black bar and sportier pegs on the 8V Griso. Get rid of the chrome bar, mirrors, and turn signal stems on the current one and it wiould look better. And add a sport muffler.
  8. Anyone have a minor leak here? I get some oil leaking down the motor bracket where it bolts to the spine. Is it a bolt tightening issue or an overfilling issue? Just thought I'd see what you guys thought. Dave
  9. I recently found these while browsing late at night: http://hpe-auspuff.de/html/moto_guzzi.html
  10. Mine came with the Factory tank bag. I love the bag but hat ehow it mounts. I bought a Luggage Locker. Its not as nice as the factory bag and doesn't have the backpack straps but it is easier to remove and won't mess up the paint. However, the lock on mine popped out this weekend. I might make a hybrid between the two, attach the Guzzi bag to a plate that locks into the Luggage Locker base. If I can reglue the lock in place that is. I also wish the mounting flanges were metal and not plastic. Good lug, a good bag is hard to find. Dave.
  11. I want to upgrade the suspension on the Ballabio. I've been looking at the Hyperpro kit that Wilbers peddles and lately have been considering Traxxion Dynamics. Anyone use either product? What about the AK20 fork kits by TD? I'm not going racing but want a sporty ride and some touring comfort. Probably 80% of my time sport riding and the other touring. Comments or experiences welcome. Dave
  12. What is the easiest/safest/proper way to lift the front of the V11 onto the Factory Stand Pedestal? How stable is it when lifted up? Thanks. Dave
  13. Luggage is not an issue, the Ventura rack and pack are not in the way. I hadn't intended on feeling myself up to get an answer. I just wanted some feedback on the mechanics of each and any experience as to what works with what or what may be required in addition to a certain set of pipes. Sounds like the Quat D requires some depravity to appreciate. Dave
  14. I'd like to upgrade my bike a bit and am interested in a set of Mistral High Pipes, MG High Pipes or these Quat D Mag-Nums: http://www.qdexhaust.it/sphera/moto-guzzi/v11 What would be the cons of each? Mistrals may require a Powercommander for optimum running, are these available for '04 models? The MG pipes come with an engine module but will it be optimized if I also put a K&N or similar in the airbox? Don't know anything about the Quat D Mag-Nums. YOur help is appreciated. Dave
  15. Well I finally had the time to get to t front zerk today. What a pain in the ! Wheel off, bevel box out, shock unbolted and swingarm dropped. Then it took me an hour to get the cap off the zerk. Either there is a special tool or those Italians have very small hands. I made sure the marks lined up on the shaft before bolting everything back up. Tomorrow I'll go for a ride and see if I forgot something. Other than this everything else has been simple or easy to get to. I hope the new bikes are a little more forgiving when it comes to drive shaft maintenance. Thanks to everyone on here, if I can do just about anyone else can. Dave
  16. I recently retorqued my heads and set the valves to 0.15/0.20. I noticed that the handle bar seemed to buzz a little more. has anyone else experienced this? About the only other thing I noticed is that my fuel economy went from 35 mpg to about 40 mpg. I think that may have more to the motor breaking than the valves but I could be wrong. Dave
  17. I thought about unbolting that safety cage but figured that it too would be one or two bolts out easy and the final one a pain. Then find that you can't reach the zerk. When you say the bevel box out what do you mean? I've got the MG stand, will that give me enough clearance to drop the swingarm so I can access the frint zerk? BTW, from what side or angle do you get to the zerk? Thanks. Dave
  18. How do you know if you've blown a seal? I thought you listened for the sticky fart sound and stopped. Also, what is the best way of greasing the front fitting? I can't even see it. I've read that loosening the rear shock bolt and letting the swingarm drop carefully will let you access it, has anyone done this? Thanks. VR6Dave
  19. I had a Suzuki SV with a Yosh Ti can, it came with a Scotchbrite pad to remove scuffs. The instructions stated that the buffing shold be in the direction of the original finish and that sandpaper or chemicals shold be avoided. Hope this helps. Dave
  20. I rode down on my '04 Ballabio with a friend on his '96 Triumph Trident. It was cold and rainy from Little Rock to Tupelo but the trip was well worth it. The only Guzzi rider I was able to talk to was an older gentleman on a Green V11 Sport from MN. His had 46k miles on it and had a lovely sounding Quat D. I did see quite a few V11 bikes and surprisingly some older ones. A couple of 850s, Stones and even a Quota. There was quite a bit to do between the races, museum, swap meet, and especially the Triumph Demo truck. The new Speed Triple is SWEEEEEET. So is the Daytona 675 but I'm too big and felt like a monkey on a football. I'll definately go next year. Dave
  21. The secret ingredient must be "squid" juice! Dave
  22. I am looking at the Ventura Aero Bag setup. A friend has a Triumph Sprint RS and uses this for all his trips, he swears by it. I just purchased a tank bag from Luggage Locker after seeing one on a Triumph Daytona, it sits above the tank and prevents the paint from being marred/scratched. 23. JoeV11, Is your V11 black? I was going to see that bike when Bill told me it sold and was going to CT. Good looking bike! Bill seemed to be a good guy. Donelson reminded me of Atlas in Tulsa, a couple of older bikes still around but nearly full sticker price. Neat shop otherwise. Dave
  24. I have an '04 V11 and was wondering if anyone knew if the crossover that was added near the heads was as effective as a Stucchi or similar on the previous year bikes? Is there anything to be gained with a Stucchi or similar on my bike? Thanks. VR6Dave
