  1. I just returned into Guzzi fold and unfortunately got the problem right away. My first bike 2004 Ballabio was very reliable and never gave me any trouble for 5-6 years that I owned it. Now I got lucky and was able to snatch up a beautiful 2004 Coppa Italia with only 5100 miles on the clock. So today I decided to take it on the first maiden voyage. The ride started nice and bike sounded great especially with Guzzi titanium pipes. But 30-40 minutes into the ride I hit a traffic jam and had to slowdown. Once I slowed down the bike shut off. It rest ratted right away on the first press of a button but I started to feel that it running somewhat sluggish. I was about 40-50 miles from home so I decided to get off the highway and take some local roads. In case the bike would die I could at least pull over. Bike shut down a few more times and every restart was harder to come by. Actually now bike would not idle at idle speed and I had to keep RPM up just a bit. Acceleration became pretty sluggish and getting to 50,60 or 70 was getting harder and harder. I figured I will pull in somewhere and let it cool down.. Stopped by the dinner and had breakfast for about 30 min. I figured bike would cool off just enough. I came out from dinner, checked the bike over and there were no leaks. It started a bit easier then before but not as good as in the morning. In any case case I proceeded going back home. The total ride was about 40 more miles or so. When I got almost home I decided to pull off and check the bike out. Once I pushed my kickstand I noticed some oil on it. Upon closer inspection I noticed oil all over around oil inlet on the left side and some more at the front of an engine by connectors that go to the oil cooler. In any case I decided to drive a bit more to a friend of mine who is an excellent mechanic. Left the bike there. He didn't look at it yet but if I can get any ideas of what it could be I will point him in that direction. Just to sum it up - bike developed and oil leak, very sluggish acceleration and engine sounds to harsh and too loud. When accelerating there is no punch and I need to kind of struggle to get it up to speed. Passing was anyone required calculations and was not as instant as it was in the morning or as on any bike in good condition Please help Thank you in advance Vlad
  2. The bike I got is missing rear pegs. I just want to get some in case my daughter will want to go for a ride with me. No, I don't want rubber foot pegs. All I need are replacement pegs. Czakky thanks for heads up. I will check Ducati Monster pegs If anyone has more precise info it would be welcomed

  4. You can use ConvertiBars. I had them on my previous Ballabio that I converted to a full fledged LeMans. If you want to see how they look please look up my previous posts You can adjust these bars as high as stock Ballabio handlebar or as low as most radical clip-ons
  5. I have a genuine Moto Guzzi shop standthat also comes with a stand for under the engine to keep both wheels of the ground. Looking for $180 I have a custom painted Sky Blue color gas tank for newer V11 (internal fuel pump) $300. Gas tank is in great shape Mirrors for Ballabio and/or Scura - Pair $80 Ballabio steering bar $45 Instrument cluster ring $45 Original exhaust has few scratches but otherwise is in excellent shape. $250 All prices do not include shipping.   7. Fortunately what I spend on the BMW is even less then any new Duc 848. If I could get my hands on MGS01 for that price I would buy it in a flash if that was available. Unfortunately MGS01 was never brought here in the USA and whatever got in the country is selling in $30K range. That is way out of my league.
  8. I did not realize it was THAT high you could get a used RSVR and a 1098 AND still have money left over for upgrades both of which would destroy the big bore. Actually neither of this bikes could destroy or come close to a big motor. When this motor was installed in MGS01 that Guareschi took to Daytona it blew off everyone else including 1098. The 1098 rider was actually shocked how powerfull that engine was. Also remember that it has a lot more tourque then anything in it class. The only thing is that its very pricey. If it would be in around $5-6K I would actually get it and would keep my V11. As it stands I need to sell my V11 as soon as possible to pay for HP2 Sport
  9. I have actually contacted those guys about a month or two ago. They sent me the answer and in my opinion the engine is way overpriced. BB1 engine would run me 10000 Euros plus my engine. I also would have to get a radiator and a different ECU. So, if one would undertake such a project the bike would end up costing around $20000 which in the category of Bimotas. Since I wanted something unique and different I just bought myself 2008 BMW HP2 Sport. I wish MG would have made MGS01.
  10. That Duc is f*ing ugly. I really doubt that it will have a lot of following but you never know. As for some saying that Alba was somewhat slow I would recommend to do some reading. The engine in the bike is supposedly 1420 cc with watercooled heads. It produces 165 hp with 110 lbs/ft torque. That is only a few Hp less then Ducati 1198 but way more torque. Also, Guarreschi won BOTT and Daytona on the MGS 01 with that engine. In fact it blew Ducati away. I would love to buy such a bike. Actually considering prices of the bikes now, $18-22 would be acceptable for such a machine. As for someone complaining about fairing, all I could say is that you should buy HD and get a complete piece of sh*t . At least it will not have any fairing . Just because someone owns a Guzzi should not be considered old and think that Guzzi is for old fart though the crowd that owns these is definitely older then the average sport rider. I, for one, uy a bike without some fairing. Fairing adds a lot of elegance. I think Alba should rework an upper fairing to complete smothness of the bike and rework a little bit side fairing. By the way that BB1 engine is available for sale. Its 10000 Euros, plus you would need to provide your donor engine. In addition you would need to get a radiator and new ECU
  11. I have sold these wheels to one of my customers for Ducati Sport Classic. I can say that the wheels do look good but they are very heavy
  12. I have pondered this decision for a while but I decided that I need to sell this bike. I fell in love with BMW HP2 Sport and I need the money to put towards that fine machine. I wish I could keep both but unfortunately at this juncture my finances do not allow me to do so. So, here is what I am offering 2004 Ballabio converted to LeMans. (Click here for the pics of Ballabio before I conveted it to LeMans). Mileage is pretty low and just turned over to 5200 miles today! I have another bike (My Aprilia Falco), so I alternate on every ride. I only have time to ride on Sundays so its purely short rides of around 200-350 miles at the time. I bought the bike with only 2100 miles two years ago and as you can see mileage is very low. Now for the history of this bike. I purchased the bike with a damaged rear wheel and scrapped valve covers. Wheel was fixed and both front and rear wheels and valve covers where powdercoated red. I wanted to make the bike look different then a regular Ballabio or V11 LeMans. I have also powdercoated rear passenger bracket/exhaust hangers shiny black. I didn't like the matte/oxydized look and wanted them to look better then new and also to bring out a quality and beauty of the bike. In addition I have installed gourgeous looking and awesome sounding M4 Carbon fiber exhausts. The levers at the front (clutch and brake) where chaged from cheap OEM ones to a beautiful and functional Pazzo Levers. In addtion I have installed ConvertiBars instead of an original Ballabio setup. I felt that clip-on look is better suited to a full fairing bike. Please note that the height of ConvertiBars is as high as a Ballabio bars but with a lot more adjustment posibilities. Also the rear seat cover is read to complete my custom looking application. Also windshield is MRA that has a nice lip that directs air over your head. The weather protection is awesome on this bike. Almost forgot. I have also changed all relays from shitty OEM to a much better ones (Omron if I am correct) offered here by one members At the rear I have purchased and installed a plastic mud flap protection plate that prevents mud and dirt to hit a rear shock (Offered here by one of the members as well) In other words no expenses were spared to customize this bike and make it look flawless. So, now for the price. $6700 or your best offer. More pictures are available at your request.
  13. I actually got in touch with Millepercento and got the pricing. I think its pretty steep considering as of now its only produces 135 hp. Price is $10000 plus you need to ship your engine over to them. So with shipping back and forth it becomes extremely cost prohibitive. Millepercento engine is enlarged to 1420 cc. So, if one can get Big Bore to around 1200-1300cc and get the power up to around 110 hp for a relative bargain that would be awesome. By the way anyone know of any other way to coax more RELIABLE power out of our engines? Maybe some kind of big bore and converting to twin sparks (if that makes any difference).
  14. I will check the weather before I had out (around 8 am). It doesn't look too good. If its drizzling I am out. I have no problems riding in the rain if I am caught while riding but I don't enjoy it. I will not willingly ride if I know I will get rained in Let see if the weather decides to change
  15. Just checked the weather on www.Weather.com and it looks crappy. It shows that chance of rain is 40%. I hope it will change but I doubt. I will check tomorrow.
  16. I ride in the area all the time so I would prefer not to stray too far north. So, for me option 2 is the better one. Also I think I have passed that restraunt a few times but have never stopped there to eat. Besides I can leave on Sunday morning and be at rendevue point by 8:30-9:30am depending on what time we will decide to meet up. By the way if you own Gamin navigation then Mad Maps sells really nice road maps. These can be downloaded into your Nav unit and you also get paper copies as well. Here is the link to Mad Maps
  17. Is anyone planning to attend Mid Atlantic Italian Moto Fest? Its scheduled for September 25 and 26. If the weather holds I am planning to attend with my Aprilia Falco. It was fun the last time I was there 2 years ago. Last year it rained out. Unfortunately there were very few Moto Guzzis and Aprilias. Mostly nice Ducati showing with a few Bimotas and MV Agustas
  18. Weather permitting I am definitely a game. I might cut out a bit earlier but if we get together by about 10-10:30 am then 150 miles should take about no more then 3 hours and that would put us around 3 pm. I would prefer to get the loop set up so we end up close to a starting point or as close to Bear mountain as possible. Its only another 1-1:30 to get back to Brooklyn. If we get evn earlier that would be nice and I can make it home by no later then 5pm. I pretty much used my Guzzi exclusively for the last 1.5 months and I am in the Bear mountain region every Sunday for the last 1.5 months I would be happy to meet new people

So, it looks as though Red Line Oil Heavy Shockproof Gear Oil is liked by many and is Ok in transmission but rear drive should get something else and preferably use 5% moly (Dow GearGuard M) addition. It would be nice if a few more people can chime in with their preferences/recommendations/experience.
  20. I assume this is the oil Red Line Oil Heavy Shockproof Gear Oil. Few more questions. 1. The owner manual calls for W90 oil so I assume 75W250/75W is Ok. Is that correct? 2. How often do you change oil in the gearbox and Final drive? Do you use factory recommended intervals or do you rely on Redline recommendation that it doesn't need to be changed (I managed to get some search results and someone mentioned that) Thanks
  21. I am sure this questions had been answered before but SEARCH option is no longer working. It spits out 200 ridiculous Search results. I would appreciate recommendations on which oil to use in Gearbox (brand and model) and which one to use in Final Drive. Also original manual calls for 20 mil of AGIP ROCOL ASO/R oil. I have no idea what that is. Please chime in and let me know which oil is being used in your bike tranny Thank you in advance

    Hubert, Do you see Koso dash on my website? I do want to add Koso to the website but the questions I asked are for personal use. I am not sure if you noticed but I do own V11 Ballabio . In an case it never hurts if one has som extra knowledge. I am very curious about aftermaket clocks. So far I think I narrowed down to 3 superb choices 1. Koso- relatively inexpensive. Has some minor issues on interacting with Moto Guzzi (at least w/V11). Very simplified installation instructions 2. TransLogicMicro Dash 2- Looks like a great option and has been widely installed on street and race bikes. I know of a few installs on Ducati and Aprilia bikes without any issues. 3. Aim MXL- Another great option but somewhat expensive. Even though the last 2 options look more complete and somewhat wider then Koso, I prefer Koso ability of RX-2 and RX-2N lighted needles. Also love the ability of RX-2 to be able to change background colors though its more cosmetic option. RX-1N look complete and nicely symmetrical. Option 2 and 3 are supposedly are great but my beef with those is that gear indicator is way larger then the actual Speed numbers. If that is configurable it would be nice. In my opinion Tachometer and Speed are the most important pieces of info and should have precedence over Gear position indicator. Also both of these option track gas usage based on the distance and not on the actual quantity of gas in the gas tank. Its Ok but I prefer reporting thru censors 4. Evo2 by AviaCompositi - its somewhat pricey option but has some benefits over the other units. Looking very similar to the option 2 and 3 this dash supposedly allows you to record your current mileage on the new dash. Also can be preset from the factory to Kmh or Mph but can be changed thru the menus. Another benefit is that this the dash used by Ghezzi-Brian. I don't know how it reports amount of gas le in the tank but I assume once Jaap get his new Sport Monza setup he will let us know

    I was reading through your posts and realized that you might have the older V11 with external Fuel Pump and you confirmed it. As far as I know all 2003-2004 bikes have converted to an internal (inside the gas tank) Fuel Pump. Wouldn't these pumps be a float type? If anyone else know about this, please chime in. Also I been digging around and and seen a Speedo censor mounted on the back wheel and reading the data off the rear brake rotor bolts. It looked like any a regular speed censor and from what I have gathered didn't require any magnets. My Aprilia Falco has a very similar looking Speed Censor mounted on the back and reading of rear brake rotor bolts Where did you mount this censor? I assume if you wanted to get more or less accurate outside temp readings it had to be as far away from an engine heat as possible. Please let us know when you figure out an oil temperature. That would be very intersting. Also one last question. If I assume correctly you could not set the actual mileage (odometer) on your new Koso dash. That means your bike suddenly becomes brand new. Am I correct? Also do you kow what would happen to the mileage if you diconnect the battery. Does it keep accumulated mileage. Looking forward to your answers and thank you in advance As a side note just want to see what version would you guys prefer. Here are 4 options In my opinion RX-1N is symmetrically balanced. RX-2 has very cool features like ability to switch between 7 background color choices and having lighted RPM needle. RX-2N also has option for lighted RPM needle but is missing changeable backgrounds and its symmetrically balanced as well. From searching the net I found out that Bimota Tesi 3D uses same or very similar instrument cluster Another viable alternative is Translogic out of UK. It seems to be getting awesome reviews

    So, basically you got all the stock functions as well as a few nice extras and you can see when yuo run up to empty. Is that correct? Did you try to figure out whcih sensor might be needed for fully operational Fuel Gauge? Thanks in advance Vlad
