  1. Just another note....

If the speed sensor is too close to the pickup the speed indicator may at certain point stop working (drop to zero). Happened to me @110km/h when picking up from the brake disc, @140km/h after putting magnets on the brake screws.

The cure is to move the sensor AWAY from the pickup. Don't try as close as possible. Go AS FAR as possible.

Now it is tested and it definitely works @~210km/h ,or better as fast as the Guzzi can make it. tongue.gif

Have you ever figured it out how to make Gas Gauge to work?

  2. After some consideration, I'm sticking with my Guzzi Ti pipes. I have ordered the speedo. Also quite expensive, but the OEM dash just doesn't go with the modern looks of the kit! And it's so cool to have a lap timer. (where's the poser smilie?) I haven't installed the clipons yet, but from what I can see, they have to be mounted under the triple tee. Don't think risers will work. Oh, what maybe important to you: Forget long distances! The tank is very small. I guestimate about 7 to 8 liters...

Yes that is pretty small gas tank. I am also curious why did you take off the drive shaft. It looks like a straight bolt on of rear subframe, front/instrument cluster subframe and then putting plastic and the headlight. Also curious about your rims. Did you get these with the kit as well?

I agree on the speedometer. It definitely will upgrade/modernize the look of the bike and will be a perfect fit cosmetically. Does this speedo uses OEM sensors or do you have to do it from the scratch?

    Thank you for your answers

  3. I wanted to do this conversion for a while now. I spoke to Brian a while back (from G&B) and got some pricing. I am still on the fence somewhat. Converting it to Sport Monza will cost me the price of a new bike and that not counting the bike itself. I am sure I can offset some costs by selling my bodywork but I am still in the limbo. I do my V11 a lot and especially after I converted Ballabio into Lemans.

I got bunch of pics from Brian as well and I don't like underseat exhausts or Quad Exhausts. I personally think they are ugly. I would keep my beatufil carbon M4 pipes at the stock locations.

I also think that stock mounted pipes hide a huge gap that becomes too visible under the rear cowling.

Jaap, are you also getting a new digital speedo? Also any idea on how high can you bring up your clip-ons? Is there any possibility to have some bar risers installed?

  4. My current fleet consistsf

I am always on a lookout for some nice deals. Looking to add Bennelli Tornado Tre. I would love to get Ghezzi-Brian Supertwin, also might get Ducati Sport Classic Sport

  5. hi to everyone and thank you for your answers.

i was searching for the info about the v11 for almost a week

and finally decided to get the bike.

so i went to the seller (private seller) with a friend of mine who is good in bikes.

but after almost an hour of useless attempts we couldn't turn the bike on because of a dead

    battery.

as the owner of the bike was leaving for 2 weeks for vacations we had agreed to meet again after the 7th of december

    with a new battery.

i was very close to buy the bike, i had money in my pocket and was ready to pay for it right in place.

but now, when i have more then two weeks to think it over i'm full of doubts.

want to see closer fz1n and cb1000r=))

p.s. hi to russian americans=)) ye, we don't have many italian bikes here,

you're in a big trouble if you need some parts or even oil service.

Don't worry about oil or parts. By the way I ship stuff there almost everyday. Regular usage parts such as oil and air filters are not a problem at all. As for other parts all I can say its about same for any Italian bike. That means you cannot get these parts within 2 days but instead might take a week. V11 is pretty solid bike so not much will be breaking.

Both of the Japs are nice bikes and way waster then Guzzi but its not the speed but the way it rides and makes you feel. You can easily do 120-125 miles (180-200 kph) on this bike. I don't think you need to go any faster on the street. I just sold a Ducati Sport Classic BiPosto to my customer in Moscow and now we are custom building/upgrading it. You are always welcomed to call me if you have any question. My phone is in the signature line

  6. Don't worry about bars. Even if you get the ones with clip-ons you can put on ConvertiBars and they can be lifted as hgh or higer then regular bars, as low as clip-ons or anywhere in between (only takes a couple om minutes)

  7. Hi and welcome to the forum! Cool to have a Russian forum member.

Sliders are available at forum sponsor Rossopuro. I also have seen crashbars in front of the cylinders, but don't know the source. A lot of parts are also available at an Aprilia dealer, f.i. handlebars, grips, mirrors. Indicators are also available at your Buell dealer. The rest should be available at TLM, Stein-Dinse, etc. If you can't find parts, you can always try this forum.

The Coppa is one of the latest models in the V11 series and should be reliable. However, don't expect it to be reliable as a Jap bike!

When they are sorted the V11 is a bomb proof bike.

Yes its cool and unusual. There almost no European/exotics bikes in Russia. Moscow and St.Petersbrg have some extremely small quantities of Euro/Italian machinery. Ducatis predominate (I helped adding more by sending one to my customer). Thee are some MV Agusta and maybe up to 6-7 Benellis betwween Moscow and St.Petersburg. I knew of only couple of Moto Guzzis.

By the way I'm Russian American so that makes two of us :D

  8. Greg,

    Thanks for confirming.

Rachethack, I took the caliper apart and cleaned it up. So now its nice and shiny. Its the first time I am changing the brakes on this bike so I did it by taking caliper apart. Now I will be installing it just by sliding a pin. Thanks for the link. I somehow forgot about it. I don't buy too often from TAW

    Thank you all

  9. Well, I just took the rear pads off and obviously in the process had to open the caliper halves. The only numbers I saw on the caliper were 20.4531.03. I am assuming that is a part number for the caliper. The only thing I don't know if its Guzzi part or Brembo part number. I would assume its a Brembo part number. So if anyone can somehow cross reference or suggest were I can cross reference this number I would highly appreciate.

I look at the shape of the brake pads and they definitely don't look like the ones that go into Griso. Also just ran Braking cross reference and indeed they are showing as 612. So EBC would be FA47HH (sintered) and Galfer 12

So if anyone in the know can confirm I would appreciate. By the way I was alerted by Galfer listing that the brake pads might be different but I think they have a misprint. Its hard to believe that MG would do such a stupidity.

  10. I need to replace my Ballabio rear brake pads. So, I looked up Galfer and EBC brake pads and it looks like that Ballabio rear pads are same as Griso but different from the rest of V11 Lemans line. Sport, LeMans, Scura are listed as having one type of brake pads and Ballabio's are diiferent.

Its essentially identical bikes and all of them have identical front pads. Does anyone have OEM parts listing for Ballabio Pads? Or even better, does anyone know for certain what are EBC, Braking or Galfer?

    Thanks

    Vlad

  11. Hi,

    we are online now.

    www.alu-tanks.de

    best regards from Germany

    alutank

How about posting picture of V11 tank and possibly the price. That would be the right thing to do since your website doesn't show anything like that

  12. I know the guy who build that, he sells body kits, for much less than the G&B stuff.

I love that FrankenGuzzi. Since I cannot understand anything in German I wonder what would one need to duplicate such a machine. Looking at the pics it looks like the engine was enlarged to 1400cc and ECU modified. What donor bikes can be used? Can one use V11 or a newer Griso, Breva 1100 or sport 1200 will be needed. WOuld I have to get 4 valve bike.

Gezzi-Brian kit looks good at the front but the rear is perched up. I would prefer real undertail or just high mounts to make it look more full and complete

  13. Well while back I described the sound in great details and was told that its a ping. Here is the link to original thread Unexpected problem. I resolved a problem with gas tank suck by removing that little rubber plug that covers a breather whole inside the gas cap but pinging is still there. So if anyone have other suggestions besides PC3 let me know

    Thanks

    Vlad

  14. I have 03' Ballabio converted to LeMans. Since I got it I didn't get to ride it much cause I have some concerns about possibly causing some damage to my motor. I have installed M4 Carbon pipes on it. Last year after I desribed what I heard I was told my engine might be pinging. I adjusted the valves (thanks for write up guy, it was nice and easy) but because I have M4 pipes I assume bikes has to be set up to run a little richer.

I am sure a lot of you are extremely knowledgable and I would appreciate your comments suggetsion. I have read TPS adjustments but don't feel too comfortable playing with it without supervision. I really don't want to f*up the whole thing. I really want to ride it more so any suggestion/recommendation on what should be done will be appreciated.

By the way anyone from NYC and nearby area knows of a good Guzzi shop, please let me know

  15. I am the one that sells Pazzo and CRG as well. I can't decide for the customers but my personal preference is Long Clutch and Short brake. I got this combo on my Guzzi and Aprilia Falco. My track only Triumph Daytona has both long levers. By the way I am THE ONLY ONE who sells Pazzo for V11 on eBay or thru my website. I obviously prefer to sell the thru my website. PayPal is accepted for all US and Canadian residents but the rest of the world is Credit card only. I don't post much here but visit from time to time. I actually prefer Pazzo over CRG due a wider color availability.

By the way both CRG and Pazzo are not just pure bling but actually are extremely useful. Anyone with small hands or large hands will enjoy much better comfort. First of all the angle of bend in the lever is a little different from stock and the adjustment range is much wider. So guys with smaller hands can adjust the levers so its much closer to the bar and the guys with extremely large hands can do the opposite.

Again I think that people that get both short levers do it for the looks. I cannot imagine everyone shiftng with 2 fingers. Braking on the other hand is very doable with 2 fingers. That is the reason mine are Long Clutch and Short Brake. If one wants to keep symetry then you can get either all Long or All Short.

My website can be accessed frommy signature line

    Thanks

    Vlad

  16. That's because it's very hard to measure w/o taking the line off.

Oh, if you want to know this because you want to convert to handlebars: No problem, no need to extend. I've used the same clutch line w/o problem.

I think if you had asked that specific question you would have gotten plenty responses!

    Jaap,

Thanks for the response. I thought ny question was straight forward. There are a lot of guys on here that know technical specs very well. Yes I do want to change the line for a longer one. Besides Ballabio lines have 90 degree elbow turn and V11 Sport and LeMans have 45 degrees. Since I converted to ConvertiBars I need 45 degrees and I need my lines longer. As it is its still works with stock lines but I am all the way at the stretch limit. I would like to get another incho or so.

  17. front wheel bearings are

    52x 25x 15 mm = 6205

    52x 20x 15 mm = 6304

make shure you check the spacer lenght when you have things apart. Mostly they are not correct in lenght, and thats why the bearings fail. Front and rear. Maybe the spacers are correct, but the wheels aren't all the same:-) I once measured two v11 wheels I had here, the space from brakedisk disk was 2 mm different.

For the rearwheel, when you take the cush drive out it's plain simple. Also there check spacer lenght.

What is the brand of Bearings (front and rear) that are available for these bikes? Does anyone know if All Balls Racing makes bearing for our bikes?
