  6. Saw this statement in JRT's excellent run-down on changes to V11 model: "'03 was a 'big' year for changes in the V11; many improvements were made. Fork diameter is larger, front axle diameter is larger and the axle is hollow. A front crossover or balance pipe is added above the alternator (improves midrange performance). " How can I tell if my late '02 Scura has that? Sorry if the answer seems obvious, but I really do not know what to look out for. Thanks Cat
  7. Hiya .. is there a specific parts manual for the scura? cos' I can only locate the Le Mans and Sports manual. Cheers Cat
  8. Will try once I can lay my hands on some Harley paint. BTW, it's Crinkle or Wrinkle paint I should get? How many cans will suffice? Will post pics once I start on this. Cheers Cat

  11. Hiya ... I'm new to Guzzi and V11; tried searching for Net resources to educate myself on the development of th V11, LeMans, Sports, Cafe etc and not finding much, except perhaps this: http://www.bikez.com/brand/motoguzzi.php Anyone can help with their favourite sites? Cheers Cat
  12. Yo, Tom M, great pics ... Did you drop the engine to spray or simply mask and spray? I will be embarking on this soon; I figured on masking but am afraid that there would be inaccessible areas. Cheers Cat
  13. Guys ... Guzzi had a recall once, for something else ... see: http://www.webbikeworld.com/Moto-Guzzi-mot...port-recall.htm Did you notice the reference to customers contacting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Auto Safety Hotline at 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236)? Is it possible to address the grenading clutch through this avenue? Cheers Cat
  14. So how many cans do we need to paint the engine casing? I'm planning to clear the old paint using compressed air. Cheers Cat
  15. Yes, Indeed I have to look for a smaller light. It eludes me why a different sized one for the Scura. Will try out some Jap bikes' lights; chances are that they will be cheaper and brighter. Will update you guys on the hunt. Great help from you guys .. btw, I'm facing bubbling paint; but that is another story. Cheers Cat
  16. Whole unit, sigh .... I reckon will get my hands on a Monster's headlight and fit it on for size. Cheers Cat
  17. So the conclusions are: A. Scura's lights are smaller than the V11 Sports B. Ducati Monster's lights are the same size as V11 Sports Correct? Cheers Cat
  18. Hiya .. I am wondering if a Ducati monster's headlight can fit on a Guzzi V11 Sports? Kinda hard and expensive to get Guzzi parts where I am, but plenty of old monsters. Strangely, I heard that Ducati and BMW share the same round headlight! Cheers Cat

  21. Feeling kinda dumb .. juz realised that I have taken the part numbers from an online V11 Sport / Le Mans catalogue .... Do these bikes and the Scura share the same parts? Cheers Cat
  22. Hiya ... it's my first post!!! I am eyeing a V11 Scura which had suffered some crash damage; and so the first task of ownership would be to locate a online parts dealer. Coming from a flat-twin background, BMW bikes enjoy wide parts availablility and I know that with MG, I will have to work harder. So far I have tracked down Stein-Dinse in Australia. The damaged parts are: 01 94 10 30 - Spark plug cover 01 66 01 40 - Brake control lever with pump 01 67 70 60 - Brake control lever (pedal) 01 60 28 30 - Counterweight (bar end) If anyone has a spare set for sale, do feel free to PM me. Cheers Cat
