  1. I must be sick. I clicked on the second one, even after seeing the first one. PLEASE, no more images like these!
  2. For sippin', I like Herradura AƱejo. A mexican liquor store owner recommended this to me way, way back. There may be better brands around but it's worth a try. Done the Mezcal thing - on a diving trip to Cozumel, also way back. No fun diving after drinking that cr@p the night before. That stuff is nasty.
  3. I felt your pain. Mine broke 2 weeks ago. One of the site sponsors, upper left, MPH, got it repaired quickly. Parts in stock. I hope your place gets it fixed quickly for you - New spring and the ratchet with the 15 mm boss.
  4. "I would like to hear from experienced long time Guzzi folks..." That I am not, but I'll still reply. Mine broke and was replaced (with 15mm boss) at MPH. Many folks have done it themselves. I wouldn't sell the bike because of the spring issue. Have yours replaced at your 6000 mile service, or have it all done a bit early for peace of mind! Ooops. I see where you decided. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10651 Best of luck.
  5. I bought my LeMans from MPH last December. Mike, Todd, Davy, they're all nice folks and Guzzi experts. The shifter spring, discussed in a few threads over many years in this forum, broke last Saturday. Luckily I was close to home. Mike loaned me his ramps and tie downs so I could get the bike to the shop. He repaired it, quickly, installing the updated 15mm boss, it as soon as I got the bike there. First class customer service.
  6. "... had to sell it when I got married. Made the mistake..." Sold one of my bikes years ago preceding a divorce. Don't miss either. The LeMans is a bike I ride sometimes for no reason except to ride. Welcome, and nice site

    Afternoon all

It took me about 10 minutes in to my LeMans test ride to know I wanted it. The Tiger was on my short list, too. I didn't feel like waiting for the new ones to get here. No regrets. Welcome aboard!
  8. I'm pleased with my 102. Flip up mechanism works well. Sun visor works for me - shades not needed and wind noise negligible when flipped up. In general, it is noisier than my Shoei RF-1000, but I only really notice without plugs. The Nolan has a removable liner. The flip up face cover and cleanable liner mean a lot in swampy SE Texas.
  9. Tracey, Crooz, Thanks for the info on Saeng and Gustaffson . I've ordered both edging and shield. My main concern deflecting bugs this spring. I appreciate the clean air I now have with the MRA. No buffeting. Just want to deflect it bit higher. I know, sports bike and all. I'm fortunate enough to live close to some decent country roads where the bugs are big and plentiful, and my full face is pretty much covered after an hour or so. I hope these mods help a bit. Followup: Gustaffson - Wobbly, thin, turbulent - no thanks. Screen cracked when removing. $_ _ + ! Power to those who get good results with this. SAENG - more turbulent on MRA, not as bad on stock. Lip - seemed to provide a slightly less turbulent airflow when tucked in but I don't ride bent over that much. And yes, not very attractive. Lessons learned - for my height ( 5'10" ), risers, helmets, etc., Guzzi and MRA have it right. Clean airflow with a few bugs beats turbulence with bugs. I'll pack an extra face shield or two.
  10. My new-to-me '02 has some of this "bubbling" on the right side of the tank. On there when I got it. I thought at first the paint itself was lifting but it feels more like the tank material itself. The bubbling areas don't feel any weaker than other area. No tank suck sound I can hear when opening. I've also heard that it may be an additive related issue also. Doesn't seem to have gotten any worse but I've only had the bike 3 weeks. pb
  11. Thanks for the welcome. Got a half-way decent picture posted. Keeping the revs up, learning about relays and such. Thanks for all the valuable info. A real bike indeed. Cheers. pb

    Got My Guzzi

I wanted to intoduce myself since I now own a LeMans. I'm Patrick Beaman. I live in Katy, TX. I made a few visits to MPH, which is close by, asking a lot of questions, riding a Stone and an EV, really wanting a Griso but thinking the Breva would be better suited to me. But I then learned of the Norge and actually had a deposit in for one of the first ones to arrive. The MG promotion was even approved by my financial manager ( my bride, Stella ). I was riding a metric cruiser that was perfectly OK, but wanted a Guzzi. When all the hoopla over the red Norge started, in one of Todd's photos I noticed a LeMans in the background. Saw it, rode it, traded the cruiser and rode the LeMans home. Not a Norge or Griso, but one heck of a cool bike. I am happy with my '02 LeMans! Mike, Todd and everyone at MPH are first class. Thanks, pb
