  1. Thanks for your kind words - my eye problem is clearing up but trying to ride motorcycles hasn't helped the situation .

I've felt really guilty about the whole weekend but all of you seem to have made the most of it despite the problems. I just hope Antonio and Jaap will still speak to me after coming so far....

I/we will select somewhere like the Galloway suggestion for next year ....

  2. Sorry to read about your damage Guy and David - what a disaster the whole weekend turned out to be :bbblll::( .

The hotel was chosen from a current 'biker friendly' guide and my previous contacts with the landlord over the phone seemed OK. I can only apologise but I guess that's the drawback of choosing somewhere 400 miles from home....

  3. The best laid plans.... :(

We set off early this morning and got as far as North Yorkshire but had to turn back. For the past month or so I've had trouble with my eyes which developed into conjunctivitis. I had hoped the problem would have totally cleared up but my eyes were proving too painful for riding.

Please accept my sincere apologies for not attending an event which I originally organised.

  4. I put my V11 back on the road today after a break of 5 months and I'd forgotten just how much I love this bike.....:mg: It started first push of the button and I spent a great day riding some quiet country roads.

I've been riding the Breva 1100 all winter (thanks to global warming :D) and while it has its plus points, it just doesn't have the soul of a V11....

  5. Antonio - reference your credit card, this is standard practice for hotels in the UK (and USA I believe) so there's no problem.

I don't have an up to date list of who's going but it's mainly V11 riders from this forum (back track thru this topic) and UK Buell riders. We also have a few Dutch Buell riders booked in. I think all the rooms are booked now with only bunkhouse accommodation left.

  6. Hi again,

    where is this place anyway?

Is this between Inverness and Ullapool? Road number A835?

    Is it on this road?

Any chance to catch some B&B in that area?

I don't think the tent is a good option... My wife (Dith) and I are afraid of the polar bears

Good news!, Antonio. I hope you can make it.

You're correct, the Inn is located on the A835 between Inverness and Ullapool - you can't miss it, it's a big building in the middle of nowhere :)......

There's no Polar Bears left in Scotland - they ate them all :food:.....

  7. With the kind help of 'Digger' on the UK Buell forum we've managed to obtain discounts of up to 50% when using Brittany Ferries.

If you decide to come on this Normandy trip please let me know your name and booking reference number via private message and I'll have it processed with the discount. Brittany Ferries web site contains all the routes and on-line booking information.

Our discount has now come through for this sailing and the price is £56 for 1 person/1 bike return, instead of the £109 it would have cost.

  8. Hey Doug! I didn't realise you'd signed up to this forum . Jane's very pleased with her new bike and she can't wait for the better weather to arrive.

Happy New Year to you and your family.
