    power loss

I have it too, the 'dip' between 1500-3500 rpm. After the engine warms up, it improves a lot. The dip is less noticeable. Think I'm gonna install a crossover and a PCIII.
  2. I think there will be no MG in moto gp. The focus will stay on california and the v7, no more sporties and also no other news. PLZ CORRECT IF WRONG!
  3. I grew up with video games, so I found it pretty lame that they kind of blame it on them. Blame the stupid asshole who drove the bike. Thumbs up for mother instincts, saving her children.
  4. My v11 2003 with cat also has low idle speed. About 800-900 rpm. At the workshop they tried to TPS the bike, but the bike just stalls at what would be the normal values for other v11's. Have a topic about the whole story from ok to bad When they did the TPS, the bike was revved all the time for about half an hour en reading from the ECU engine temp, it was about 110˚C. So I think that for my bike with cat, the low idle seems to be normal. And the temperatures too. Have you checked the oil itself (mybe bad oil, I've full synthetic 15w60), airfilter(just in case) and sparkplugs(can tell you about the lean\rich condition plug colors, thanks to Ratchet ). The engine itself is bulletproof. The problems are often the things around it, as I lately noticed. Good Luck!
  5. How can you make a blind person claustrophobic? Put his stick into a bucket
  6. www.tlm.nl has loads of them. you could also check www.stein-dinse.de, not sure they have them. I'm at work and they blocked almost all sites except this one
  7. I am installing a new handlebar, opportunity to clean the sensor. PS no reply from the dealer
  8. I recently had a bad spark plug cap. The contact wasn't good. The bike would start, but it doesn't respond when I give gas and then shuts down.
  9. I also had to remove a part of the exhaust system. It's almost impossible to remove it without removing the pipes.
  10. Yesterday had my last exam for this year. On my way home a car behind me started to honking, the driver d me that my side stand wasn't retracted. I drove about half a mile in a city and all the turns that I took were to the RIGHT. So I guess the little angel on my bike protected me. On further inspection, the micro switch isn't making contact with the side stand. There is a piece missing. In the past the side stand switch worked correctly, because this wasn't the first time I forgot my side stand(my 2nd) . So check once in a while if your switch is working.
  11. Not exactly, the dip is really from about stationary to max 3k rpm. A little above 3k rpm runs really smooth.
  12. Today I got my first speeding ticket. It's because you all told me to drive above 4000 rpm, what I did. It's totally different and much better. Also hit the red line once About the ticket. I drove 100mph were 60 was allowed. I was pulled over by cop on a beemer. I was lucky to keep my license and he found my bike very beautiful After all the corrections I drove officially 24 mph too fast. He didn't know how much I would have to pay. Ill get the fine after summer holidays. BTW I am expecting from all of you to chip in
  13. Got the bike bike today. It runs as before, with the dip between 2k and 3k. So it's back in the original state I also send the chief a letter about all the things that happened. I just couldn't tell him the whole story trough the phone. I said that I paid too much for the first checkup and that I don't know what was fixed. Example, it says on the bill, the valves are checked, only checked or also adjusted? I am waiting for his reply. Now I can't put the Power commander, not enough cash. And then the speeding ticket. Somewhere in october/november I'll make a new appointment.
  14. Wy dont we tune the v11 to be the yamaha vmax 2008 eater The v11 just isn't build for that. And 90hp is enough for the bike. I think all these discussions are started because moto guzzi isn't building a super sport line or at least showing us some concepts, what all of us would like to see. But never mind me. I am also glad dlaing and ratchethack found each other again.
  15. Very glad that you are ok. As you said yourself almost everything is easy to fix except for the upper sump. Here is a site for some spare parts Reboot spares . Maybe its cheaper than ordering an original one. For the costs, I'll say about 500-1000 (worst case) dollars for materials.
  16. The called me today. The bike is fixed, 210 euro's investigation costs?!??!? They gonna drop the bike on Thursday, free of charge I cant wait to see what was done to the bike or investigated. The good news is, the mechanic told me that bike runs really good and that I don't need the power commander. So, maybe they really fixed something that could explain the price tag. Test run on Thursday. More to come, stay tuned...
  17. What about the alternator? I would also try another battery, maybe the fluids are bad.
  18. I've drove about 1200km, have the bike for about a month and it's my first bike. So, I don't feel offended at all, I just didn't knew. Learning all the time. And the bore x stroke, mentioned earlier compared to Harley's explained it all. It's just I didn't feel like I was hurting the bike in 6th at low revs I was just cruising at low speeds and trying to avoid these fkn bastards : I'll do just that. Thx for input, Godspeed!
  19. This is very interesting, I hope I'm not stealing the topic. But I always thought, 1100cc twin engine, enough torque. So the bike should easily run in low rpm in high gears. What dou you mean with overdrive ratios. For higher cruising speeds?
  20. WOOW Ratchet, I didn't know this. Sometimes I just ride in the 6th with 2000-3000 rpm. Now that Im thinking about it, I hardly get above 5000 rpm in any gear. Think I need to change my riding style drastically I always thought high gear low rpm for the fuel economy, unless I can feel the bike is torturing itself. AND NOBODY TOLD ME OTHERWISE, well I didn't ask
  21. I've called them today and they have almost fixed the bike. The bike is running crazy (gaat als een gek! (for the dutchies)), after they took it for a test ride. The mechanic also told me that on of my spark plugs wasn't working correctly??? That he also adjusted the valves (what I already did 2 weeks ago) and some other things. I tried to tell him that I am not willing to pay all the costs, because the bike was broken because of their servicing. He told me that he will call me on Thursday with all the details of the work and the costs and that I shouldn't worry too much. At TLM they don't have a dyno or other hardware to change the mapping. I really thought they did have it. I've made an appointment with Ruud Fredriks from Tovami to put a Power commander and have the bike on the dyno. This will happen on 10 of July. Then on 16 July at Hyper Pro services to get now springs and adjusted to my weight (the mechanic there told me that I can watch what he is doing and he will explain me everything I need to know ). And 20 July I am finally ready for ride in the MotoGP of USA. Thanks for your input friends, I'll post new findings on Thursday.

    it's back

when I was first time on my v11 I enjoyed the backfire nothing to worry about too much. I get it on hard decal.
  23. I can't figure out what you mean by tickover
  24. Just called them this morning. They are gonna pickup the bike on Thursday
