  1. I could tell you, but then I'd have to.......
  2. Haven't been on line too much lately, I recently picked up an 05 749r, almost mint with 3200 kms.It is one beautiful sport -race bike.It was too good a deal to pass up....even if I have to part with one or two of my other bikes, as much as I'd hate to see any of them go. The wife may divorce me on this one....
  3. sounds kinda familiar ...bought new speedo;....cut in half....grease...recalibrate -10%...speedo is now 10% slow....bitch to put bulb back in...wait for speedo knob not included with new speedo....speedo nob breaks...glue speedo nob...speedo nob now does not come off..and oh ,yeh...speedo bulb needs to be replaced ..speedo goes in garbage..?.....
  4. It truly is a sad day when a fellow biker is lost in an accident. ...no matter what part of the world you are from, or if you personally know the person or not. We probably all have had a few close calls, and in the back of our minds, we try not to think about it ,but there is always that what-if possibility. Deepest sympathy for family and friends.
  5. You here a lot, on problems with the v11, but I'll just say, they are easilly sorted, and once done, are very reliable, not to mention classy looking and a hoot to ride! I've done over 12000 kms this season , and no problems other than a relay that i had not yet replaced, but had a spare omron- on- me, so, really no problem! I'd also like to add, that, they are under valued, and would like to see the price go up.....insert smily face here.
  6. most important is the routing , so that there are no tight bends, including lining up the cables coming out of the throttle (grip).make sure the cable doesn't get tight when turning steering head lock to lock also. You did route it under the tank?? Also check that the throttle body rod, running between the two throttle bodies, returns all the way to its stopper screw when the throttle is released(grip). sometimes the speedo cable can interfere with the throttle return stopper. Try to get the cable so there is a little free play at the grip, and also at the other end of the cable. Hope this is of some help, cheers, doug.
  7. Does your rosso have a 4.5 inch rim or 5.5? a 160 will work fine on the 4.5 and is actually preferred by many, including myself.I don't think a 160 will work on a 5.5,; a 180 came on the 5,5's, and some guys i know are running 170's, which gives the bike better "turn in" handling.( it will be quuicker turning side to side). hope this helps....and by the way, you should try to get some metzelers!
  8. nice vid, how come you guy's drive on the wrong side of the road?....i know i would forget when riding over there, and die, into a head on. well..maybe not, but it would take some getting used to. hope everyone enjoys the last days of summer,as they are always too few. cheers, and ride safe.

    Bar end mirrors

rizomas are pricey, but really nice quality and looks IMO. check out PJ's parts.
  10. What's the recommended spring preload settings,as summer holidays are near and i have a familly of 4 , + 2 dogs?
  11. great to see dave and hack getting along so nicely. oh yea,...I swear by metzelers myself. I think they may have saved my life a few times. The difference being when your rear tire starts to break loose, they give you a split second to recover where some other tires ,once they let loose they're -you're gone.
  12. The sidestand switch -relays have been known to sometimes bugger up, causing a no start problem. might be worth checking out. there is a few posts on this subject you might want to check out. I kind of doubt the ecu has anything to do with it, regards, doug.
  13. this old tractor moto guzzi ..greg benders site and download a manual plus updated manual. the wiring diagrams are included. also a parts manual available from mph ad, at top of this site. best regards, doug.
  14. the way that dude rides, he must have been smokin wacky laced with crack.
  15. Sounds like quite the adventure! Congratulations on a good finish....you should be proud of the Guzzi. Nero's rule. Best regards, Doug.
  16. One of the best is the Odyssey PC545 MJ (Hawker). Check the forum.. technical topics , and type in batteries.
  17. A 1000LB ? bike , towing a 3000lb+ vehicle? Not this cowboy! It might be "efficient",but I wouldn't want to drive that contraption. as far as I'm concerned any bike pulling a trailer defeats the whole purpose of motorcycling. I'd rather drive a convertible sports car with a trunk, than pull a freakin' trailer...but that's just me..to each his own!
  18. I agree with Steve; Gord is A-1. I bring my bikes from Calgary to Valley ~900 kms, as i don't like or trust the dealers here. Besides, it gives me a chance to tour around Vancouver island...some great roads. That reminds me, I'll have to plan another trip out this summer.
  19. New avatar is much better! ?
  20. Looking good! What are you using for paint? That red looks closer to the original red on my nero, than i could find, without going to an expensive paint shop.Regards, Doug.
  21. The clutch is hydraulic ,so no cables involved. First thing ,check the clutch reservoir to make sure the level is up to where it should be.(under seat) it might be a good time to also bleed the clutch in case there is any air in the line. there are some good how to's in the forum. If that doesn't help then you probably have some clutch issues..plates or whatever. Did you sell your clutch kit you had in the classifieds? regards, and hope you sort it out!
  22. It's a good thing biking helps your brain, because I'm still recovering from a miss- spent youth! Good quiz Ratch, Doh!
  23. anyone have a set of Techno bags with racks, in good shape, they wouldn't mind parting with?
