  2. I used a Fenda Extenda for a BMW KLT 1100. It was recommended in a post somewhere. Result after waiting for 6 weeks, special order, functionality = good, aesthetics = average. Any one got any more ideas?
  3. Tried Moto Kiwi? In your neck of the woods,Waiheke ph 09 372 5312,Fax 372 6244. motokiwi@paradise.net.nz BB.
  4. Have a look at the Dart brand screens for Bonnevilles. The screen is available separately in the case of a mishap, the brackets can usually be bent back into shape. bb.
  5. OK checked plugs, mostly good right slightly dark, but OK. Mr Roper it looks like i am out of the woods, thank you. Does your top end rebuild price include the cost of beers? bb.
  6. Ran 340 ks last weekend in moderate heat. Mixture of high speed freeway and back roads. Bike ran fine, used no oil, havent checked plugs yet. Appears all good. BB.
  7. Update here. Ran moto for 116 ks at the weekend,a mixture of city and freeway running. Temperatures maxed out at 42.5C,bike ran extremely well and restarted several times with no problems. Have not checked plugs or oil level as yet but all appears to be fine. Keep you posted.
  8. Almost too hot to go out 40c here toay,42c for Sunday, ouch. 6hour production race on Sunday at Oran Park, last race here for bikes before circuit closes, sigh.
  9. Update is as follows. Took the moto to Pete Roper on a trailer 2 days ago. He inspected the bike, spent 2.5 hours resetting the injection system,he took it for a quick ride and pronounced cured. Got bike home went for a hot ride in traffic, its 40 degrees here, nearly melted me but bike ran fine. NO way it would do this previously Will take plugs out to check them today. Keep you posted and provide exact tuning details.
  10. Blow by,and 54 ks on new plug. Just putting it out there for general comment before we get the spanners out. Have spoken to Guru Pete,so maybe we can work it out.
  11. After much searching and tuning problems we have found the piston rings on my 2000 model v11 sport not to be sealing correctly. A top end tear down is required and at least new rings. Question is are there any better rings available rather than factory supplied items? Why would this failure occur when the motor has only covered 22000 klms, admittedly the bike has been stored for some time by the previous owner. Problem did exist at time of sale as a hotter heat range set of plugs had been fitted. What sort of oil should be used to run new rings in and for how long. The bike is in Australia, its summer and hot. Thanks.
  12. And it hardly ever rains and most things are almost half price for foriegn visitors(well historically, but depends on the exchange rate),just like living in heaven. OOOphs thats New Zealands slogan,a slice of heaven, and it is that too! )
  13. I had a big problem installing this stand too. Stand would not clear Stuchhi cross over, and will just fit with factory cross over. Any tips on how to refit with Stuchhi cross over? Some of the mounting bolts supplied with the kit appear to be a little on the short side and may be worth replacing if you dont want the stand to work loose.
  14. I am considering buying the first model,V11 Sport but cannot ride with clip ons. Has anyone converted one of these to normal bars? LSL has a kit,but i think it is for later models with a black triple clamp. Can you use a triple clamp from a late model Cali? Early model V11s have the clip ons mounted lower than later models. Prompt response appreciated as i wouldnt wont a particular bike to slip away.
