  1. OK I'll play... Here is my V11 Ballabio for sale... https://westslope.craigslist.org/mcy/d/fruita-2004-moto-guzzi-v11-ballabio/6789815116.html
  2. I bought this a couple of months ago, and just don't have the time to "play" with it... 2004 Guzzi V11 Sport "Ballabio". $4000 (US) Really nice condition, runs good, starts, stops, and looks amazing doing it.It currently has 14085 miles. And now...The pictures!!!
  3. Lucky me!!! I had a bad switch, AND a badly worked-over neutral light socket! At least now, I know what the deal is! And,I got to see a green neutral light finally.
  4. I shorted the switch wire to ground... I got no neutral light, but I did get a relay click (first time for that), and the bike would start with the kickstand deployed... Im going to clean that connection and see if that might give me a light... If it doesn't its back inside the dash again to check the bulb connection... Thanks Docc
  5. This reads like a never ending saga! Seems these durn things have frustrated most owners... Its frustrating me too! Here's the lights on my dash that don't work (In order of importance)... 1. No neutral light - I checked the bulb, swapped the bulb with a working bulb. no fix. I cleaned the switch down by the shifter... nada... still no workie. Its never worked since I've had it. When I deploy the side stand it dies. 2. No fuel light (not a big deal), unless it might have something to do with the neutral light. The connector for the neutral light inside the dash housing is really pretty crappy. Is there a way to test the light in the socket? I know the light was good that was in the neutral socket, as I swapped it out with the functioning oil light. BUT, if that socket is jacked up, then everything else could be fine. The functioning light bulb from the oil light didn't work in the neutral light either. Im leaving it parked in gear, hoping that might be the miracle cure, but Im not holding my breath! Also, intermittent front brake light, but Im putting my money on the little microswitch at the lever. (FIXED) microswitch adjustment- 5 minute job that took 30 minutes, due to bad bounce of nut on the retaining screw. Thanks for any ideas...
  6. Looks like they have the entire headlight, not just the optice group! The original part number has been superseded by a Breva headlight assembly... Ill give them a call in the AM,and see if that is in stock.
  7. From the parts list, it looks like they are different parts... I think the leMans light is smaller than the 7" Ballabio light.

  9. A Lemans has a different, smaller headlight (I believe). This is a V11 Sport / Ballabio . it has a real small fairing. The 5 1/2 " depth is OK, Im sweating the distance from the headlight bucket mount, to the fairing... Here's some pictures that might help out... Zack at Dime City said that if I send him some measurements, he would measure some lights to see if he can find something that works... Here is the Ballabio... See, its got the little fairing... Its not a LeMans. Here is the culprit... The broken lens unit. Here is the "bucket" that the lens unit fits in... The bracket that the bucket attaches to... This is the measurement that really is an important one... The measurement from the fairing mount/bucket, to the front of the fairing is the"biggie"... If that measurement isn't spot on, the light is either going to stick out from the fairing, or will be back "into" the fairing... neither of those is a good deal as far as Im concerned...
  10. My headlight lens is cracked... So, I started looking into just replacing the lens... Nope that baby is epoxied on there, so replacing the lens unit looks to be the way to go. So, I took it all apart, and started looking. I think it would have been easier to find a rainbow unicorn. There aren't any of these on the planet! Was told by everywhere I went/called that since the Ballabio was produced in low numbers, they didn't make many of these either! So, after proving that to myself, I started looking for anything that would work... I found the replacement parts list on this forum, and it showed that BMW has one that will probably work... So, after a trip to the BMW store, I found that I had to get the whole assembly which would run about $800! Did I say I was a cheap old bastard? Well, we had a good laugh, and I went back home. I emailed the folks at Dime City Cycles ( A cafe racer place) and they said that it would probably be easier to find an entire headlight unit, instead of just replacing the "lens" or lens unit... It looks like there is 7 1/4 " or 18.5 cm between the mounting posts. there is not a lot of room around the light, due to the fairing... from the mounting brackets to the from of the lense is about 2 3/8th of an inch, and its 7" across the lens. The more I look and measure, it looks like finding the right "bucket" size is going to be tough... Especially to fit under the Ballabio fairing. If anyone else has "invented this wheel", I would appreciate what you did... Unless it costs over $800.
  11. I was thinking about it... BUT I doubt I could get all my camping stuff on it! and the Sherpa Tents guy isn't going to set up the tents this year like in the past. I was going to "Guzzi over" if he was going to do the tents thing, but I think Ill take the Pack Mule (R1200GS). OR Ill take multiple trips... Im only about 100 miles away from Paonia. If you ride your Green Meanie down, Ill be sure to take the Ballabio.
  12. ALL HAIL THE NEW GARAGE QUEEN !!!
  13. I did it!!! I pick it up on Wednesday... Here's a pick from Craigslist...
  14. The owner said that he had just changed the oil, both engine and gear box... My guess is he hasn't ridden it much since he did his oil change. He seems to be one of those guys that really knows his way around a bike... Been riding a long time. Im thinking Im going to jump on this... Its just too nice to pass up, and the repairs don't seem to be that bad. Thank you all for your help... Im sure Ill be coming back soon! Jeff
  15. on the '04 Ballabio... awesome condition, a little high in the price department ($4700ish) , starts great runs good, BUT, owner says that his neutral light doesn't work most of the time, and there's that false neutral between 3 and 4...Im a little concerned that it could be the start of an issue... What do you guys think? Ive had other Guzzi's and they (along with a bunch of BMW's) have had false neutrals, and it hasn't really concerned me all that much... Maybe Im just getting jittery with a new purchase... Thanks, Jeff
  16. I've read all the posts about stands, and Id like to get an ABBA, but they arent in the US... So, Im curious, would a Pit-Bull "SPOOL" stand work, using the nut on the "porkchop" ? Is the MG stand the only one that uses this point on the bike? I've had a bike fall off a stand before... It ain't pretty... I've also looked at a "black widow" hydralic type of stand... Anyone have any experience with those? black widow stand Thanks for the help!!!
  17. If you are going to let that fairing go please let us know. I am in the market for one. Thanks. Im going to keep the fairing... It does a great job, Im just thinking about changing things up a little bit...
  18. Itst not great riding weather, so Im bored and looking at the LeMans... This usually gets me in trouble, and costs money... BUT, Im going to ask these questions anyway... What is the '02 LeMans tank made out of? Since its fuel injected, if I was to change out the exhaust to a cross-over and cans (Mistrals, if I can find some used), standard air box set up to individual K&N's, and a PCIII... What else am I forgetting, and is this do-able? I know Im about 8 years late to this party, but it's what I have to work with, and I like the LeMans/V11 for the most part. Im also thinking about take the fairing off, and going with something a little smaller... I'd like to cafe-erize it a bit, and wonder if anyone has had any success with changing over to a different seat/seat pan combo... See? all this is money down a rat hole, but you cant take it with you...
  19. Im looking for an aftermarket exhaust for a 2002 LeMans ... Im trying to spiff up my LeMans... Cannisters would work too... Shoot me an email with what you have, and we'll talk about it... Thanks.
  20. OK, I looked... Went to the Davida website... Found a Guzzi pic... I like the look of the bikes... I'm thinking I might do some mild cafe stuff to the LeMans...
  21. Good Lord !!! That thing is gorgeous!!!
  22. Gentlemen !!! The drinks are on me!!! I took it out ran it for an hour or so, and it was dry as toast, no leaks!!! Thank you all very much for your help!
