  1. What I really found annoying were those American TV series from the 80's, like Knight Rider. Sometimes KITT had to chase a MX rider, definitely on a Honda XR 250; but the bike sound was: dendengdedengdengdingdedeng... That pissed me off...

  2. I'd like to start thinking in those terms anyway because a lot of what I read is in metric measure. Metric makes sense anyway and what we use does not.

To be honest, Captain, you were the cause of me looking fot this software. I read "pounds per inch" in one of your posts. I thought that was too difficult to calculate to Nm so I started Googling for some freeware. So thanks!

  3. By the way, the web site is really moving slowly tonight. (just for your info if there is some problem)

It wasn't me! I couldn't get on the forum at all last night. My guess is there was a server problem, because my email and FTP didn't work too...

  4. There are 2 possibilities to show pictures on the forum:

    1. Linking to a file already on the net.

While posting click the button. A window appears. There you have to type or paste the complete URL - like http://www.yourdomain.com/image.jpg

If the file is on a website not yours, rightclick (Windows) and a Properties window appears. Select the URL and copy it. Paste this URL in the window that appears when you push the button while posting.

If you don't have your own webspace there are plenty free hosting providers where you can store your pictures. Do a Google search for "free picture storage" or something like that. When you post link to the picture on that free picture host.

Note. a lot of free hosts don't appreciate it when you only link to your pics on their servers. That way they can't show their ads. So read the terms & conditions before you sign up!

2.Uploading an image from your harddrive.

While posting, you will also see a file attachments option, this will allow you to attach a file to be uploaded when making a post. Click the browse button to select a file from your computer to be uploaded. If you upload an image file, it may be shown in the content of the post, all other file types will be linked to.

    A few rules:

-Images should not be wider then 500 pixels

-Filesize not over 200 kB. (Please as small as possible)

-Only one picture per posting or answer possible.

-Only jpg, gif or png files will show.

If you are a computer nitwit (and proud of it...) and this helpfile doesn't help; you can send me the pictures and I will resize them (if necessary) and store them on the webserver. I will send you the links to copy/paste in your posting. (like in option 1.)

I prefer option 1. It doesn't use up my webserver space

OK, so much for now. Hope it helps!

  5. When is this? I'm flying to Miami in a couple days and won't be back till after the 1st.

I don't know how long you're going to stay in Miami... but our visit is planned for July 2004. I guess you'll be back then ^_^

  6. I think there is a big difference between the marketing geeks that have the clothing line produced trying to imitatie HD (Guzzi World Club... ) and the people that are responsible for the build quality. At the moment they both screw up, it seems, but I'm not buying a bike because their clothing line has durable stichings.

  7. And San Diego, too????

No, I'm sad to say we only stay about three weeks in the US. Going by bike is postponed, I feel I have to regain trust in my riding skills before I start off on such a journey.

My GF and I are going to rent a RV and start in Seattle. Then see the sites/landscapes in the NW before going to San Francisco which will be the endpoint of our trip. We will be in the US from about July 20th until August 10th as far as we can predict.

So we don't need a place to stay, we bring our own! But a small Guzzi party would be great! I'd like to meet you and talk Guzzi.

If you have any pointers on this trip let me know!
