    One question. If this is a "track only" bike, why is there a headlight?
  5. I had mine done in black and I'm glad I did. It smoothed out the engine performance and looks frickin' great.
  6. I stand by my post. No offense, Al, but in your quest for perfection you seem to analyze things to the point where you can't make up your mind. God bless you for it, but pods do increase air turbulence and appear to make for a rougher running bike. Judging by Enzo's bike of course, he's had two brands of pods and riding his bike is like riding a sledgehammer. Of course, this may not all be due to the pods.
  7. I have the FBF kit and it kicks ass. I noticed an immediate power gain. But it is louder, especially on hard accelleration. But some people like that.
  8. Get the FBF filter kit instead of the pods. It has better performance numbers and the airflow is smoother. It may be cheaper too.

  11. GDog, If I remember right, I have a few different maps for your bike on my laptop. Some of them are custom I think. We can try a few different things tonight. If you find some you want to try, download them onto a floppy disc and bring them.
  12. I had mine done in black. VERY nice. Cleans up the look of the bike and improves performance. I hadn't really expected much of a difference -- I figured it was company hype -- but it was instantly noticeable. Mine cost only 100 bucks at Performance Coatings in WA.

  15. Al, don't be offended at this. I'm sure he means me - his master. He's a little confused. I'm already beginning to loosen up his mind. Asshopper, The difference between Al and you is that Al modifies his bike so much he never has time to ride it, while you modify your bike so much that it doesn't work. Wax on wax off.

  17. Thanks Al, I'll keep a lookout for the reply. The sales pitch on the coatings is pretty good, but it will be nice to get a second opinion. I'm not sure what the total cost is.
  18. Looks like I'm going to get a set of FBF pistons for my Stone. But this is a V11 Sport board, you idiot! Yes, but Jaap lets me play here, so shut up. Anyway, I recieved a set of hardbags as compensation for my bubbling paint and -- surprise, surprise -- MGNA sent me the wrong mounting brackets. So, I've arranged to trade them to the shop for credit -- enough to order the pistons and get them installed. Awesome. My plan is to have them friction-coated first: http://www.performancecoatings.com/enginecoatings.html These folks did such a good job on my headers, and the performance gain was so surprising, that I'm going to have tham coat the pistons as well. I don't know how long this will all take, but I'll keep y'all updated on the progress. Of course, if I were Enzo, I'd just spray-paint them green, but hey...
  19. I had the originals done as well as the aftermarket crossover. I had them done in satin black by Performance Coatings: http://www.performancecoatings.com/ Total cost was 105 bucks.
  20. Hey, I just got my ceramic coated pipes back from the shop and was very surprised at the difference. First, they are quieter now. There is still a rumble, but it is not so sharp. Also, the acceleration is smoother and there is more throttle response. My flat spot at 42K seems less noticeable. Despite the claims, I didn't really expect such a noticeable improvement. If any of you are thinking about doing this, go for it. PS: They look baddass too.
  21. Sorry, Al, I don't like them. Too retro, and your bike doesn't really have a retro theme going on. But, since you seem to like them, and will likely keep them, then I will say that they look better sans eagle. Only because the eagle is flat and looks awkward with the raised logo.
  22. Those look like the same pipes I have on my bike. They are actually made for Ducatis. By themselves, they should add a nice rumble, but not too much noise. My bike only got loud when I installed the open air filter. According to Guzzitech, the performance numbers on Bubs are pretty good.
